The good news is that I'll be able to fix this in R46 so that the roster pack plays normally and doesn't crash. The bad news is that the old custom clothing will be out of date, so it won't show up properly. So, you might or might not want to remake the pack anyway so that it matches up to the portraits' shown clothing
Oh this is just pure good news then.

I'll wait for the new version so I'll be able to load them in and redo the clothing and add accurate info for the other details.

I've tried this game a lot but never really had a lot of successes. Any tips or guides on how to really do things? I can get to the point where the goal is get 1k of sometihing on someone (Inury, expo, etc.) but I always seem to fall just shy of hitting that point and i can't get the chosen to ever generate more than 1 EE each. NOt sure what I'm doing wrong.

There's dozens of guides in this thread already. That said, a lot of the info you need can be found in the text files the game is shipped with.

The implicit assumptions within this game still enrage me on a profound level. To summarize the apparent beliefs of the authors, sex is so inherently evil and women so inherently weak that women who have sex, even consequentially, are irreversibly damaged, badly enough to nearly drop their value as people to zero.

I'm not going to rewrite it all, but literally one page back I wrote up a short guide of what you should do in the early parts of the game.

The implicit assumptions within this game still enrage me on a profound level. One should not associate the themes of a story to that of the author. This is a corruption focused game, obviously it goes the route of raping and abusing women until they get corrupted into enjoying it and doing bad things because of it, but that doesn't mean the author personally holds views like that towards women and sex. Besides, the sex that is presented as evil in this game... is rape, molestation, all the parts of sex that are evil. If you drive the Chosen closer together and use the option to spy on the chosen between days, you can actually find them having consensual sex with each other that isn't presented in an evil way (sure it's in part to cope with their trauma, but it's not presented as inherently evil).

I guess you believe any racism/sexism/homophobia in movies, games, whatever automatically means the creator also shares those views? For starters, you're viewing the events in this game from an EXTREMELY shallow lens even ignoring the obvious issue with you know, this is a work of exaggerated porn fiction. The girls aren't just any ol girls having sex, they're fighting for the survival of mankind against demons capable of corrupting humans in abnormal ways. Have you even noticed how much the girls need to be raped for it to noticeably fuck them up? If anything, I think this game handles rape and the fall out from it a lot better than most H games. The girls don't just suddenly go cock crazy after 5 minutes of groping or being dicked, and the rape and evil shit certainly isn't glorified. The girls are very much still "human" well into their corruption.

Dunno where the fuck you got the "Drops their value as people to zero bit" btw, that seems like you're projecting or something. I never felt anything like that from the dialogue so far. They lose their shield and can be raped because they're supposed to be pure, the opposite of the demons. It makes sense that as they become more demon-like that they'd lose some of their powers to defend against them, no? It's pretty classic corruption shit that's been used in all forms of story telling since forever.

Let's break things down:

Girls are under tremendous stress that most people would never experience because of the the whole you know, fighting demons to protect mankind. Also being majorly popular/in the spotlight on top of that. They are abused/raped to oblivion, and apparently rarely have much in the way of support/counseling to handle that. Even with that, it still takes an absurd amount of abuse for them to actually noticeably change their personality. I mean, a normal person going through what they go through in a single day would probably be seriously fucked up, they have it for weeks/months/years (Some of the girls were abused by demons and others before you even meet them). Surprise surprise, the girls can end up pretty twisted after like a straight month of hardcore corrupting demon rape, lol.

Both of you have made the same mistake. It's the implicit that bothers me so much, not the explicit. It is what the author seems to feel doesn't need to be explained, because they believe it to be obvious. Let's think for a moment: what is a demon? It's essentially defined in the game: the enemy of mankind, all that is wrong, evil, immoral, dangerous. What is it that the demons are known for in this game? Sex. Yes, they rape, if you pay any attention you can see that the author's don't consider rape to be the problem, they consider sex itself to be immoral.

There's another premise: the women get their powers via "purity", a concept the authors do not define because, again, they think it's obvious. I don't. What the hell does that mean? Apparently it means they don't have sex. What happens when they do? They are weakened, looked down upon, and eventually snap and start slaughtering civilians. Do you see my point here? The world presented in this game considers sex itself to be immoral (somehow??), and this is not presented as an aspect of that society that is unusual. It's not explained, it's not even mentioned in itself. It's as if the authors take it for granted.

Why can't the heroines have sex? Why doesn't the game bother to explain this concept? Take a step back and think abstractly: they think they don't need to.

Nah, we aren't the ones making a mistake. You clearly haven't played the game enough to notice that girls have have consensual sex with no issue, and it can even reduce their corruption. "The world presented in game considers sex itself to be immoral" is your own incorrect assumption. You're judging the whole in game world by a small sample size: How the girls interact with the demons and some shitty people. The game even shows better moments between the girls, but you're just completely ignoring them because it doesn't fit your narrative (Or you're just entirely ignorant about that content). The girls continue to be able to fight the demons, aid humanity, and still be decent people WELL into their corruption and long after they lose their virginities. It takes almost until the end of a loop for them to really start with the "evil" actions. It's not sex that's the issue, it's demonic corruption/trauma.

The girl/demon interaction is VERY clearly a rare exception to many rules in the world, as I've already tried to explain to you. The girls are basically holy warriors fighting demons for the sake of humanities survival. You think the whole world works by the same rules? Not that you even understand the rules that they're following.

It's an H game, of course some basic shit shouldn't need to be explained if it doesn't aid in the gameplay. Most people can keep up without having everything explicitly explained to them and having their hand held for every single thing. Where is it shown that the author doesn't consider rape the problem? When the girls are raped, they suffer tremendously, to the point of hurting themselves and others. Sure seems like rape is depicted as bad. If you were expecting the demons to be punished for raping the girls, that isn't the focus of the game, not sure what the fuck you expect with that. I mean, most rapey demons/thralls are beaten or killed, so seems like things don't end too well for them huh?

You can go read the descriptions of girls in game for more evidence of everything I've been trying to tell you. The girls suffer, rape is depicted as bad, and most the girls had decent lives before the whole, being abused and raped by demons and shitty humans stuff. Here are some that should even be obvious enough for you.
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

You picked the wrong game to try to attack for this shit lol. Almost any other rape game would have been a better pick for what you're trying to do here. This game handles rape/corruption way better than most. You want to complain about games depicting women/sex/rape poorly? Go find any of the games that show women turning into animals that can't live without dicks after 5 seconds of rape.

Welcome back!

You were on this same trip back in February. No one agreed with you then, including the developer, and you made a point of discounting all the textual evidence that doesn't agree with your interpretation of the developer's worldview. There's nothing wrong with that, this is a porn game site that explicitly caters to strange fetishes and doesn't allow kinkshaming, so keep on being you!

You also don't seem to have brought anything new to the table in the past.... 6 months... of stewing about this game.

Rate the game a 1 and move on, maybe? Or, you know, keep posting here until the developer accepts your One Revealed Truth about their intentions. Maybe that'll work?

Just for a bit of context here, do you not live in the west? Because from your post, I kinda feel like either you don't, or you're bizarrely ignorant when it comes to cultural ideas on sex, casual sex, un-wed sex, and purity culture just in general.

There are several guides throughout the thread and some text files come with the game itself that explain things.

Sounds like you need to understand multipliers and how they work.

Basic guide, not quite step-by-step, but close

Been playing this game since Release..20ish, i think? Big fan of the concept, but not so much the execution. This is definitely a game for people who get off on a variety of kinks, but i think the biggest fetish is for people with a Mathematics leaning. Exponential graphs get you hard. Spreadsheets make you cum uncontrollably. For the the mathmatically inept (like me), it's actually kind of frustrating. I can't ever seem to make headway in the game and, i feel it suffers from being so impenetrable. I am not a complete idiot, the game is what it is and it isn't going to change now no matter what my observations are. I would, however still like to post my recommendations for anyone else looking to do something like this in the future.

1) If we are going to be a long term planner adversary, I would actually challenge the need for turn based combat entirely. Instead of wading through each encounter choosing the most mathematically effective route for what you want, I would just make it a fire and forget thing. Basically, for each encounter, the Demon Lord picks a girl, picks what he wants to get done to her, and then any variables added. The demons, forsaken, items, etc. Game then fires off a summary scene or an automated blow by blow and you either succeed or fail depending on your approach measured against a difficulty. Or something. I'm not experienced enough in game design to comment on if it is easy or not, just a thought i had. It's a concept on how to make the Demon Lord PC feel more powerful and "hands off".

2) Make the tutorial a restricted loop which, end of the loop, concludes with you having one single weaker Forsaken. Reason for it is that this could make it easier to transition into a tutorial for training Forsaken specifically.

3) Perhaps some alternate ways to corrupt the heroines outside of combat? Spiking their water supply with aphrodisiac while at home is one idea.

This is by no means exhaustive and really just some things i thought up while in the shower. Anyone else?

Your position is fair, but I do see some potential problems with your points after. I'll address them one at a time below.

(1) This is a big change in the gameplay and almost makes the game more of a simulator where you just program in NPCs to do certain things and sit back while they do the work. This point lacks the interactivity the game already has because of that, which I believe is part of the appeal.

(2) As there is no real tutorial in the gameplay, this would restrict certain things like being able to win with a triple distortion or triple full break where all of them become Forsaken. I do see this having potential as a completely separate mode or an addition to single play, where you can't really go anywhere within the same gameplay loop anyway, perhaps this could be a new scenario for single play like we already have with the bosses.

(3) This sort of already happens, they can have breaks due to scenes with third parties like outsider/civilian NPCs or other Chosen such as when an already corrupted Chosen breaks into a virgin Chosen's room and takes their virginity. Also, this goes into point 1 as well, it starts taking from the actual gameplay in battles.

Honest and fair criticism.

It would be difficult to program an algorithm that plays this game in any manner approaching "correct". I suggested something that would mean basically the same thing with the introduction of the green tooltips and that's essentially what CSDev said, and yeah, as a bit of a programmer myself, it's not a challenge I would take on. It seems like it'd also be difficult to estimate what a competent player could do with the tools available to them at any given time. Personally, I don't feel what you're proposing is something that would quite fit here--there are absolutely tons of games on this site where you make gradual progress with girls through hitting their buttons.

2) Make the tutorial a restricted loop which, end of the loop, concludes with you having one single weaker Forsaken. Reason for it is that this could make it easier to transition into a tutorial for training Forsaken specifically.
This, though, I agree on, in general principle at least. There should be a much more "step-by-step" tutorial with a fixed stable of Chosen showing progress through battles and telling players what button to press and why that button is a good button to press. I think Kalloi once made a text guide walkthrough scenario like that, but stopped around the first T2 break--I'd prefer something like that but integrated into the game, going through T3 and T4 breaks, possibly even using a Distortion on one Chosen, and maybe eventually, as you said, progressing into Forsaken training. Personally, I'd make it separate from any kind of campaign and make it clear players can and should stop at any time and go play the real game,, with tutorial text suggesting they do so at any of several logical break points.

The main issue with doing this is that the game is still an alpha, though the last few releases have not really changed much about the basic interactions and have changed only the text of Single Play mode. Currently, the only support for players doing something like this is Commentary Mode, which only allows for commentary text before each button is pressed. I'm also fairly sure CSdev is too busy adding new features to do a detailed playthrough of the type required.

CSdev, if you're interested in adding something like this to the game and you'd like some help with what to explain, where to write the explanation, and how to explain it, let me know. I can create some basic Chosen in a Single Play loop, copy all text from the playthrough in a document, and add things to the document in a different font indicating what I think is good, solid, tutorial text--where to place it so that it does the most good, and where to add [Continue] breaks so new players don't just get a huge impenetrable wall of stuff they don't understand.

Just let me know if you would make use of something like that because it's a lot of work.

3) Perhaps some alternate ways to corrupt the heroines outside of combat? Spiking their water supply with aphrodisiac while at home is one idea.

This is by no means exhaustive and really just some things i thought up while in the shower. Anyone else?
I'm not opposed to this, but I'd think this would be something to add after the core loop is complete, with all species types and bosses.

Personally not really a math fan here, i just want to see how corruption depicts and shape with different personality and how chosen act and interact with allies/related person and whole society
