I gotta say, while I do like this game, I feel a bit disappointed by it. I don't really feel like I get actually get to partake in the actual assaults. If anything, I feel like a spectator giving orders. I still see this game as a great foundation but I think it could be improved a bit.
...
I feel like the Commander should play out more like a player character from lilith's throne where as once your summoned, you should be able to do what you want to do directly for whatever turns you have. Of course your commander's actions would be limited to what you had chosen prior to the assault. I suppose this could be like a "Avatar", like an upgrade from a Commander.
I'll share some of my vague thoughts regarding this, since you aren't the first to mention this and I've been trying to come up with a solution. Ideally, I'd like to add a sort of "Dating" mode where you design a simple body to inhabit, then go to meet one of the characters and have some detailed interactions. Depending on how you designed your body, you'd have a bunch of options like "rest hand on her thigh," "push onto her back," "penetrate her," etc. Each character would respond in a different way, potentially allowing it or resisting. Most of the Chosen (and some of the Forsaken) would just destroy your body instantly as soon as you try anything, but even some of the defiant ones might allow a certain threshold of action and make conversation as long as you don't try to go too far.
This feature would be almost entirely about providing context to the corruption, sort of like a more in-depth version of the psychic reading profiles for the Chosen and the talk options with the Forsaken. It would have no cost to use, and it wouldn't have any effect on trauma levels and expertise values and such. At most, it might let you deflower one of the Forsaken outside of training actions. Because it wouldn't really interact with the gameplay, I can't put too high a priority on it. I'll give it some serious thought once campaign mode is in.
The reason why I feel that this should be a whole new mode rather than options taking during combat is mostly for the sake of the gameplay flow. Each turn should be spent making one decision, and after you've made the decision to send your Commander after a target, you should be spending the following turns deciding on your other actions for those turns. Managing granular sex actions in the middle of a battle with a bunch of other stuff going on could get very tedious.
Customization needs to be improved. I feel like you should be able to customize the girls like their build, height, hair color, length etc, besides just for their costume and weapon
When I made the first version of the game, I decided to keep those traits minimal, because there originally wasn't any team customization, and I worried that a player might be turned off because the game kept describing one of the girls as having e.g. huge wobbling breasts when the player would prefer to imagine her with small ones. Then, because none of the in-combat text ever described those traits, I felt that including the option to enter them during customization would feel very shallow and disappointing, since the only place you'd see it would be her profile page. Rather than just letting the player enter a list of numbers, I think I prefer having some sort of custom portrait system for players who are so inclined.
I feel like you should actually be able to capture one or all of them and drag them back to the hive if you get them weak enough. Now depending in their state and other things, they may be to break out or choose to stay.
I could see something like this being implemented as part of the above dating system, but actually confining the Chosen in the hive against their will should be reserved as a climactic moment.
If you want, you should be able to have as low as only one chosen to potentially, as many as you want with some restrictions on how many can fight your horde at once. For either challenge or just to mess around.
This isn't planned, since the relationship mechanics are a major part of the game, and they're built around the three-person squads. At most, you could potentially manage fighting multiple different squads in a single 50-day loop.
I feel like the 50 day limit could be replaced with a loop mode where simply new chosen teams show up and you continue where you left off with the chosen you corrupted join you as Commanders of sorts.
This is exactly the plan for campaign mode.
I'm not going to pretend that's a fun meta for returning players. It might be possible to do it more efficiently and stack some more Angst early, I just don't bother because there's no need, all I care about is getting that EE. I think the game is this slow at first so as to not be even more bewildering to new players.
For what it's worth, I've managed to get the +2 EE bonus for hitting 1000 circumstance damage as early as Day 6 (before the third Chosen shows up) by buying a 1EE Commander. This puts me half a day ahead in EE generation and makes the next stage go more quickly, but I haven't seriously tried pulling it off with the new balance changes yet. In any case, my actual plan for making the early game more entertaining is entirely tied to the campaign mode, since you'll have more perks you can carry over between loops in order to make things interesting more quickly.
Personally If I don't want to, I feel like I should be able to use any type of damage I want to break them Physiologically. I don't really want to constantly break them to the point there a literal shattered, broken corpse on the ground. I know the Heroines can regenerate but it's kinda a turn off to mainly use pain/injury damage. I'd still like the option though lol
This is a tricky thing to deal with. In order to be connected to the porn, the gameplay numbers need to represent something definite in the game world. For INJU, that's injury. And different numbers need to represent different things, all of which should be important in different situations. The only real solution is to make toggles that cause the number to represent something different. In case you aren't aware, there is already a toggle to replace injuries with exhaustion and apprehension from tickling.
