The wiki has a good guide. Not made on the newest version, but still contains the relevant information for early loops.

I just realized that the wiki is not listed on the main post. Is there a specific reason to not add it, or should we message whoever is updating the main post to add it?

i'm too low iq for this game
I'm terrible at this game. How do I do better? I can't damage resolve at the end of the fight, and I typically only manage to get one or two chosen to the point of giving me more than 1 EE a day. The only glimpse at a strategy I've found is to take the newspaper and power up a Drain commander to stack massive injuries on the chosen, but I've been struggling to parlay that into other breaks.
Hello you two, and several others I have seen lately that want to get into this game, but are having trouble figuring it out. I have created a new in-game version of the Play-and-Learn Walkthrough. The file you need is attached to this post.

How to Access
1) Extract the .par file directly into your Corrupted Saviors main directory (same as .exe)
2) Boot up Corrupted Saviors
3) Click Import/Export, Import Save, then click on the number corresponding to: Corrupted Saviors Walkthrough V2.1--Created R63b
4) The game will tell you what slot that was loaded into (it'll be past the oldest file in your saves).
5) Click "Back"
6) Uh oh, you're in a battle for some reason! It's not the right one. Click "Data", "Load", then go find where the save file exported to and click on that file.

After that, the dark grey text is my commentary, which includes which commands to use and when applicable, the reasons for using those commands. The replay file goes all the way through earning all Tier 4 Breaks and winning the Final Battle, somewhere around day 32-33 I think. This is a tougher team than most people will fight, (One has 100 MOR, another has like 97-98 CON) so I've tried to explain tactics as they come up. If you click a wrong button, click Retry to restart the battle. Save regularly. This walkthrough will occasionally "quiz" you by asking what move to use--if you get it wrong, just Retry to start the battle over.

Let me know if you have any problems using this--it should teach you just about everything you need to know about the first city.

I had to edit my response because this guide is fucking amazing. Seriously, thank you for dedicating your time to create this. Definitely needs to be added to the OP.

Thank you. I am still low IQ but I am slowly recovering with the use of this guide and a greater distance between my brain and open microwaves when making hot pockets. I feel confident, given time(and this guide), that I may be able to count to ten without the use of my fingers

Forsaken math post: At what cost are distorted Undead (with the same modifiers) better than distorted Animalistic? When are Animalistics stronger?

TL: DR Undead are better when cost is below 16EE. At costs greater than 16EE, Animalistic are stronger for the same cost. These breakpoints happen at 60 Disgrace for Animalistic, or 40 Disgrace for Undead.

f you're instead comparing Undead to the full Stamina summon of a Flexible Peacemaker (Playful Energy), the breakpoint is instead 4EE (4). This cost is at 80 Disgrace for Animalistic or 60 Disgrace for Undead.

The math is below this line.

The difference of cost between the two of 1/4 is equivalent to Undead having 20 higher Disgrace than Animalistic. (1).

20 higher Disgrace means that at the same cost, Undead will have 40 higher Reputation Strength. (2)

The two have different multipliers. The Undead multiplier on damage, assuming a relevant Distortion, is 1.5. The Animalistic multipliers on damage, assuming a relevant Distortion, is 1.5*1.5 = 2.25. Multiply these values times the formula for the Reputation Strength and you'll have a way to compare. Their modified Reputation Strengths (3) are equal at Disgrace 60, corresponding to a Forsaken costing 16EE.

(1) The EE cost formula for standard/Animalistic Forsaken is (1000)(1/2)^(x/10), where x is the Disgrace. The same formula for Undead Forsaken is (250)(1/2)^(x/10). If we increase the Disgrace of an Animalistic Forsaken by 20, we get the expression
(1000)(1/2)^[(x + 20)/10]
(1000)(1/2)^(x / 10 + 20/10)
(1000)(1/2)^(x/10 + 2)
1000(1/2)^(x/10) * (1/2)^2
1000(1/4)
(1/2)^(x/10)
= 250(1/2)^(x/10) -- same as the Undead formula.

(2) The formula for Reputation Strength is just (200 - 2x)%.

(3) The modified Reputation Strength ( y ) of an Animalistic would be 2.25(200 - 2x).
The modified Reputation Strength of an Undead with the same cost would be 1.5(200 - 2x + 40), since the 20 lower disgrace will improve Reputation Strength by 40 (keeping cost the same).
Then solve the system of equations:
y_1 = 1.5(200 - 2x_1 + 40)
y_2 = 2.25(200 - 2x_2)
I won't work out that algebra here, but the solution is the point (60, 180), meaning they both have a modified Reputation Strength of 180 at a Disgrace of 60 (80 for Undead). This corresponds to a cost of 16EE for both Chosen.

(4) If you want to compare Undead to the first summon of Negotiated (Playful Energy) Animalistic, the new multiplier is 1.5 * 2 = 3. So that is just the solution to the system:
y_1 = 1.5(200 - 2x_1 + 40)
y_2 = 3(200 - 2x_2)
The solution to this system is the point (80, 120), meaning that they're equal when the Animalistic has 80 Disgrace (the Undead will have 60). This corresponds to a cost of 4EE for both.

It's a good thing the undead inflection point is below 16, so the 9EE forsaken still reigns supreme for their species.

Do you have the rep str formula for demon knights? the formula must have at least 2 variables (disgrace/EE) so it can't be the (200-2x)% for them.

Hey, you're welcome everyone. Please let me know if something's not clear or explained correctly, or if there's any other issues as you play through. Play until you feel like you know how to, then start your own game.

dang, guess I've gotta do the work myself. it was worth an ask.

well, I'll put up my findings once I get around to grabbing the data points I need. If you end up doing another comparison like the last post, maybe it'll be useful.

Thanks for the tutorial! I’m still experimenting with it, but I do have a question—
When I start my own game, is there any kind of time limit or similar mechanic? I’m wondering if making mistakes or playing inefficiently could end my run or affect the difficulty in some way, like making things harder later on.

Yes and No, right now you only lose the game on the last day. The last day comes faster each loop "sometimes"

In a standard game, there's a time limit of 50 days. For new players, that might not be enough to fully break the team, like the walkthrough does in around 30 days, but it's probably enough time to get at least 1 T4 break on each, get the appropriate improved basic attacks, and at least convert 2 Chosen and win the fight. This should be what you attempt.

You'll miss out on little drips of Evil Energy if you don't get your T1 breaks by day 15, your T2 breaks by day 30, and your T4 breaks by day 45, but these amounts are insignificant compared to what you get daily--it's not a significant handicap if you miss them. Day 15 has a max of 8EE, day 30 has a max of 20EE, and day 45 has a max of 200EE possible.

As for campaign mode, that currently requires mastering Forsaken, and that's kind of a whole different ball game. Which Forsaken are good, and which ones are worthless? Which Distortions are good on which Forsaken? What Punishers should be used to convert them? It's... a lot, and making a recording that goes through those is a time commitment well beyond what I'm willing to make. Doing one city took about a week of my spare time, and any guide worth playing would have at least 5 Loops (possibly 7 to make it through Reign).

Here is the save you requested

To recap bug reports:

after defeating victory or love (I dont remember wich) a "chosen id" appears in the flavour text

reign generates 1g trauma damage for everybody the moment you trigger an orgy and you have breaks for aversion, even if she decides to escape the battle
The devils also receive the penalty damage , I dont know if this is intended, the wiki says this 1gtrauma damage shoulndt count towards devil`s penalty

at loop 15 , if you are offered to fight Judgement instead of Victory , the flavour text will say something around the lines of "Splendor isnt doing so good since Victory has been defeated"

If you have victory and love
After deploying victory, love cost 0 energy for the rest of the loop.

the wiki says this and I dont know if it is right:

Negotiation (while Victory is a Forsaken) - Trait: Flexible Peacemaker (Pillar of Mercy)

  • Whenever Love or Wisdom is deployed, Victory gains a compounding +10% damage bonus for the rest of the loop
  • Whenever Victory or Wisdom is deployed, Love's next deployment in the current loop costs no Evil Energy
Thank you for the bug reports here. I believe that the incorrect flavor text on the Loop 15 scene is related to another Chosen mistakenly getting assigned Victory's ID, so it's harder to narrow down where that could be happening, but if anybody else sees it happening their own save, then let me know.
The gameplay is my umbrage with that, yeah. It's a petty thing that bothers basically only me, I'll admit. But in my eyes, it feels like starting a racing game on Lap 2.
That's a fair point. Figuring out how to play around pre-broken Vulnerabilities is meant to be one of the challenges the game can throw at you, but I'll make a note to add a toggle to turn it off for players who don't like it.
Good point, and I have proceeded to do so.
________________________________________________________________________________________________

CSdev , I proceeded to redownload a fresh copy of version R62, and managed to reproduce the bug that freezes the game.

What didn't occur, and I'm therefore unsure as to what the difference is in these cases, is the game getting so royally fucked that it would not function after reopening. I am honestly at a loss as to what was different the first time around this bug occurred, that the game died like that.

BUT I can say that the game freezing when selecting the hips button in the customize menu with certain outfits, is indeed an easily reproduceable bug

I've added a screenshot to this post of the screen of the game as it was after replicating said bug.
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

I will also be attaching a link to a folder( 1.30 gb is to big for attachements? really?) with a text document more or less detailing how I reproduced it, a few other details like the outfit's id and such, and 2 copies of the game, one that should be the game as it was during/after freezing BUT without yet having closed the game, and one after closing the game and testing to see if it could reopen and work( which it did).

Hopefully this can help you fix whatever the bug was, though I'm still wondering what caused it to completely destroy the game the first time around such that it needed to be redownloaded or freshly extracted from the zip.

>Aforementioned folder with the text file and game copies
Thank you very much for this! There are way too many possible clothing coverage combinations for me to manually test, so a typo on my part can result in a crash that I don't find (as was the case here). Thanks to your detailed instructions, I was able to narrow this one down and fix it for R63b.
Version 63b is broken for me, it's stuck on a black screen. I reverted to 62 and it works
If you upload the save that doesn't work on R63b, then I can take a look, figure out what's causing the bug, and have it working again in R64.
So I managed to pull off a despair distortion on Reign (loop 14), and she didn't show up, just auto-surrendering and joining up as a forsaken with no extra traits. no chosen leader type thing like what Victory got, no humbled heroine (shared selfishness) bonus for my despair distort. I only noticed this upon trying to take on Love next loop, when I wasn't getting the bonus. Any idea what could make that happen? getting her to use a T3 at 1/1000 damage taken was an absolute nightmare, so I'd prefer not to have this happen again.
Defeating Reign doesn't come with much fanfare or gameplay purpose right now because it's effectively placeholder content (in the final version, you won't normally be able to defeat her until the later loops). Her proper defeat scenes and bonuses will come with the conclusion of campaign mode.

It's really nice to see this done! I'll make sure that the incorrect "throwing you into a random new city after importing" behavior is fixed in R64.
Do you have the rep str formula for demon knights? the formula must have at least 2 variables (disgrace/EE) so it can't be the (200-2x)% for them.
I can shed a little more light here since the in-game text is a bit vague about the specifics. When you deploy a Demon Knight at any given Evil Energy amount, the game calculates the value of "What would be the reputation strength of a Forsaken whose deployment normally costs this much Evil Energy?" The Demon Knight's actual reputation strength for that deployment starts at the calculated value, then gets a penalty equal to half the difference between that value and the reputation strength normally associated with her Disgrace level. For example:

32 Evil Energy normally lets you deploy a Forsaken at 100% reputation strength
A Disgrace 40 Forsaken normally has 120% reputation strength
The absolute difference between 100 and 120 is 20, and half of that is 10
Therefore, a Disgrace 40 Forsaken deployed for 32 Evil Energy will have 100% - 10% = 90% reputation strength

Similarly, a Disgrace 60 Forsaken normally has 80% reputation strength
The absolute difference between 100 and 80 is 20, and half of that is 10
So, a Disgrace 60 Forsaken deployed for 32 Evil Energy will also have 100% - 10% = 90% reputation strength

Increasing the amount of Evil Energy will always increase the effective reputation strength, even if it brings the base value further from the Forsaken's "natural" value. However, bringing the Forsaken's "natural" value closer to the base amount for the Evil Energy used will also increase the effective reputation strength, even when that means increasing the Forsaken's Disgrace.

If you upload the save that doesn't work on R63b, then I can take a look, figure out what's causing the bug, and have it working again in R64.
The issue isnt a save, I couldnt even open the game, it was just a black screen

It's really nice to see this done! I'll make sure that the incorrect "throwing you into a random new city after importing" behavior is fixed in R64.
This was always my intention, just glad it's working for people.

My Demon Knight, Slayer, has 60 Disgrace, so she'd normally have 80% Reputation Strength. If I send her with 410 EE (what I have in my current save), that's normally equivalent to a Forsaken with 13 Disgrace (12.86), which would have Reputation Strength 174. The difference between the two is (174-80) = 94, divided by 2 is 47, so that'd make her reputation strength 80% + 47% =127%. The actual value calculated in game is 128%, so that's just a rounding difference I'd wager. Thanks for sharing.

Could you display the "natural" value for a Demon Knight somewhere? It's possible to claculate it form disgrace, but it would be more comfortable if we can just read it somewhere.

It's long due I create this post and stop procrastinating...getting stuck on Reign is not a reason to not post

So this is main post for Spectacular Species, it will be updated with new things when they come.
This is a portrait pack I created to fill the void left by Chekhov's pack in digital style portraits - Chosen Species. What I grown to love in it is diffrent poses, enviroments and extra stuff that gives Chosen some flair. In turn this pack tries to achieve uniqueness for every chosen, as much as I can push through with AI generator. For those who might be new to the game - Chosen Species is a harder version of simple Chosen with their unique strength, style, and description. You will encounter them later in the campaign, so keep that in mind.

Regarding a pack - all specific information can be viewed in txt. file that also in the zip file itself. But here's a short of it, - 7 animalistic, 7 undead, 4 angel, 5 devil, 4 Bosses and Crown. 23 chosen are new characters made based on games descriptions and subtypes of species, that are based on Vunerabilities. You probably encounter these subtypes in your campaigns but even if subtypes are different, it's fine to replace portraits with ones you like. 4 bosses are a conversions - delete existing files and put my own, image type in different(jpeg and png) so it won't replace.

Be aware that all packs include nudity, so...if you play this game but don't want to see boobs...don't go for this pack. Apart from it there depicted sex scenes, tentacles, a bit of blood, variety of skin colors and body types and zombie girls that look like zombies. Also every pack includes many bonus images, so be free to look, explore and switch them for your enjoyment.
I do hope you have fun and enjoy packs during gameplay. Feel free to reply in thread or message me with your comments and thoughts about the pack. And here's some random previews of different Chosen. Bonus points if you guess swoon one without looking in the .txt file.
P.S. What's your opinion on Victory and Reign packs, do they need more extra something or are they fine as bosses.
sorry to bother you, but how do you use this and suntorn dawn?
do you need to replace them ingame in profile->change portrait?
or does it generate a chosen ingame with the portraits
