It's not quite a VN or a KN (it's somewhere in the middle).

It's just a unique identifier for the .zip file (so you know it's from me)

If someone compresses the game, then their hash will be different from the original.
It doesn't mean it contains anything fishy, it just shows it's not original.

It's more of a "this hash does not match the original hash, use at your own risk".

Yes, I understood. What I meant is that checking the CHA-256 is a method that can be applied to any file (game in our case), although of course someone would need to provide the original hash to compare against. I didn't know about it.
That's something that the site uploaders should care about from now on and include it in the OP as you did.
