You have to manually copy the saves from the previous version into this version's saves folder.
Apparently it's the case only with older saves.

How to get the newscaster bathroom scenes? Also, I don't get any chance to have the election. It says my approval is at 90 percent. But when I click to go to mayors office I don't get anything with the secretary.

The maximum approval is 60%. Getting more will result in an error like yours

I may be wrong but you should only be able to get it to 60% and you can win the elections. Here's a save if it helps. There may still be some events from the current update that may not be finished. Just go to the Mayor's office and proceed with the election.
Edit: This is the lite version, so not sure if it works with heavy if you are using that.
