It's barely a game given that the current strat is usually using the same ability order every fight. Say grease->fireball. You got like 5 buttons, one of which is often a passive stance and one is a break glass thing. It then boils down to the quality of the "porn" and story. And given those are basically tobs shitting out loads of subpar writing and very few images or animation it's really not that dick hardening. The one selling point is the scope and variety of the game, which is mostly the result of the discord server model of production where a ton of writers put in time they could spend learning a language or making long-term friendships writing walls of shit the producer says no, put it in the rubbish bin. It's ultimately a 3 star product. It's hard to argue it does better story than something like survival or sarah rose or a myriad of other decently written VNs, or RPG-sex than something like price for freedom avarice. It's big selling point is the variety and scope but the issue that people keep harping on is that things like transformation or player agency is decreasing as the game goes on - literally what the sex of the game is with all other parts stripped. Not to mention how torn to shreds the lore is compared to any high quality game. You just need to start with kitsune and their random weeb sengoku japan bullshit banzai-ing into a bronze age/late antiquity hybrid setting.

Utlimately to not ramble like the game does - the meat of the "game" is really writing and the writing is mid. It's really not better than many games on this site that do it on less budget.

It's a three star product with less than three stars is all I'm saying. All of your criticisms would matter more if 90% of the porn game industry didn't consist of glorified visual novels with no gameplay. Ratings should be relative to other products in the same category, and CoC simply doesn't have much competition.

A game like Cloud Meadow that is an outright scam with nothing to show for its budget? That's a one star game. Review bombing this game because Savin made some unpopular story decisions when the game is still actively getting new content added? Not really justified. It's unfortunate that the bar is low for the porn game industry but that's just how it is.

Because devs are slowly dumbing it down and making it worse?
Like completely scrapping Resolve mechanic, and everything tied to it. Completely breaking the balance in the process, solidifying Charmer as the strongest class in the game, because teasing now deals damage to HP instead of Resolve.

If anything, Thief is the strongest. Twist the Knife is completely bonkers, and if you’re seething about flashing your ass being OP, I really don’t think that’s enough to drag the game to 1 star.

I don't recall liking it myself, think the problem I had with it was the turn system sometimes fucking with you but that was a good while ago. Do remember other folks having a bigger axe to grind with it though.
