Jesus Christttttttt I am a new player and reading the recent thread of this game just really kill my mood mann......WHY TF is the majority of sex/erotic based indie games always so disastrously messy in their development and commnunity.It's been THOUSAND,THOUSAND like these and they just keep coming, they don't stop coming like they hit the ground runnin' .
LIKE CHEESSEUSSSSSSS these MF are supposed to be full time developers with years behind their back(even if they are indie),right?RIGHT?

Well for other projects that don't make almost half a million dollars a year, it's pretty understandable. Making a decent game, even in something like Ren'Py or RPGM, isn't that easy and is really time-consuming. This one though? Yeah not really any excuses can be made. Savin has worked on the previous games, but I don't think he was ever in a leadership position like this before. He isn't a natural leader and it REALLY fucking shows.

Really, everything wrong with this game wraps back around to the culture and precedent he's set throughout developing this game. TOBS' garbage is in the game and normalized because Savin has allowed the guy to run rampant with no editing or oversight. Every character has a "super duper special OC donut be meaaaann!!111" feel because that's exactly how he treats his own characters(evident even back in TiTs with Anno, aka Cait 1.0). And that leads into a big part of why there's no corruption content: you just can't be mean to anybody. Why do I not have an option to fucking murder Hashat to coming onto MY elf slut? Why can I not influence Cait into corruption Ala Palpatine style when her religion is already halfway to being corrupted with all the sex and child grooming they have? Why can't I tell Quin to shut his fucking trap about wanting to fuck every single girl he sees? Why can't I tell Azy that she can go back to her god damn hive if all she does is want to fawn over Liaden all day?

Simple, because the project lead does all this shit himself and has no self-awareness. If Savin does it, then why shouldn't the rest do it? Corruption of Champions? More like Corruption of Dev Team, fucking christ.

I would love to be wrong on this. If Savin comes in here and gives a logical explanation to the shit he lets fly, I would be the first one to listen and really try to see things from his side. But considering he let that Brienne rape scene in the game behind Wsan's back, I don't think he can even come close to that.

I'm not banned, but that's just cause I don't care enough to post elsewhere. I'm not that dedicated.

As for why it seems like everyone involved is a bit of a basket case... well, let's be frank here: CoC 2 is a bit of a niche game. It's a porn game (already a niche) with furries and futa galore (so more niche), and it's text-based. So the kind of people who would be willing to work on it is already small, and a lot of those would be the "OC sexy furry donut steel" sort of people. Throw in the the fact that the lead dev can't lead for shit, and you have a recipe for an asylum run by the inmates.

So, I actually agree with Skandranon, with regards to this censorship debate. Seems like the community here (and possibly 4chan), are slightly hyper-aware of any censorship being perpetrated on the official forums.
This might have been the case in the past, but recently it seems like the developers are more inclined to ridicule one for criticism (constructive criticism or not), and rile up the community to dunk on the one who supplied said critique, or just laugh at them - instead of outright removing the post.
Seems like they've more so given up on the official forums (if the bug reports are anything to go by, lol) in favor of the discord instead, as it appears to be an environment that is easier for discussions about the game, and possibly less negative.

Further insight, Undertales was made with 50K. Made by one person. Now I know there is not as much writing in Undertales, but Toby Fox did all of the music, writing and programing himself. I think only two characters were designed by Temmie. It was the Spider chick and Temmie village. Finished development in roughly 2-3 years (32months if you want to be exact). So, what is the excuse for this game, that is mostly dialogue focused, has multiple writers and artist. Plus the commission writers. Programmers. And even if you low-ball the amount of money( lets say they only got 100k) they are still making a game with about 2x the budget of undertales. (This is also ignoring the donations they get from streams and steam sales.) If they really got 200k from their gofund me that's 4x. There is no excuse for this game being in the state that it is. This goes beyond incompetence and laziness.

Skull Girls- was made for 200k. 8 hand drawn sprites, with hand drawn animation, music and fully voiced. Miss information on my part.

The excuse is Patreon. It incentivizes long development times, which is why so many of these games never finish development. Even CoC1 technically was never finished, Fenoxo just tacked on an 'ending' and called it done (it wasn't). These devs think that 'if I finish the game the money will stop coming in' so they drag the development out as long as humanly possible. What they don't understand is that you can finish a story and still keep releasing content lol...

I'm actually kind of disgusted someone like this is allowed to write for ANY project, let alone this one. He seems like a legitimately awful human being, does he get like this anytime someone has a slightly negative response to anything he does? I am so glad I have the emotional intelligence and maturity to not act like this, it's really embarrassing for him honestly. He seems stuck in his edgy teenager years where he has to act like he doesn't care what people say by telling them how much he doesn't care. It's just sad to look at, man. Wonder what life circumstances lead to someone acting like such a spoiled brat. And he's doing this while contributing to the project on THEIR public forum. Imagine how quickly any actual company would fire him for acting like this to potential customers.

Also really funny how he's had plans for Leofric for 4 fucking years and he still hasn't done anything with the character. And the classic "this content(femhirrud) was projected to come out a year ago". Makes me feel better about my own writing speed and I don't even fucking write for a project.

and notice it's been rising fairly steadily since its inception, not even counting its two other revenue streams.

The people paying them seem to like what they're doing. Their fan reactions that you speak of are largely positive.

Why change?

Now based off what I've seen of their behavior it seems like they've actively done everything in their power to push away people who would be willing to give them good faith criticism. Either by mocking or censoring critics. (They may have changed now, but the damage is more less already done) So, only the yes men are left or are willing to talk to them. Not only that but the community seems to largely be fractured and spread across 5 different forums (here, 4chan, official forum, discord, and steam) Go to the official forums, steam reviews, and discord and it'll seem like Kiyoko is the most popular character. Ask the 10 or so people who regularly comment here and 4chan Brienne is the most popular. (I would have to go digging, but I remember someone posting that Brienne was voted most popular on 4chan polls with Kiyoko coming in second. Which further validates that Kiyoko and Tobs content popularity) Go to Steams forums and it seems Ethryn is the most popular. Or you can listen to the 10 dollars polls (when most patrons on Savins Patreon are only paying 4.90, I find it highly unlikely Bubs is getting regular 10 dollar patron. So, even in paid polls its not clear how the majority feel about this content.)

Now even if what I'm implying is true, one cannot ignore the patreon. Its holding strong and there making more money than most people on patreon. 125th on all of Patreon and 11th in their particular genre. No denying the series is successful. So,

Well, there have been multiple projects that have made money left and right. Star Wars the Last Jedi, Skyrim, Twilight series and even 50 Shades of grey. No denying these series made a lot of money and are finical success. And if its only about getting money then they should absolutely keep doing what they are doing.


But if they want do something more. Something that has value beyond a dollar sign. I think they should seek out criticism and be willing lesson to people. Now don't take this as me saying they should self sabotage. Nor do think the project should become content-by-committee. Far to often in the effort appease everyone games will include content with no real purpose other than its popular or to scrape up some minority fan-base, which ironically leads to it appealing to no one and the game being bloated. I don't want that (the game is already bloated enough with all the one off characters imo) But, part of being an artist/entertainer requires that one have some ability to be introspective. It requires one to be able to sincerely consider both praise and criticism without letting their ego get in the way. This especially important to project leads. But this is what I would say to someone who is trying to create something that isn't just about the money. If it just about the money for them I'd tell them should abandon fetish porn games. They should consider working/investing in Star Wars, Marvel, Fortnite or Call of Duty, become a fucking V-tuber with big ol anime titties because that's where the real money is at. There are alterntive careers they can choose that are far eaiser and offer a bigger payday.

But hey what do I know. The only time I've seen $30,000 dollar was when it came time to pay off my student tuition, and I'm regularly wrong. So, fuck my opinion, right?
