Is it really hard to grasp how some people ARE INTO BEING CUCKED? How do you think they treat their significant other? Like shit? No. They're affectionate, like Cait is.
Being caring is not exclusive to monogamous relationships, people, for fuck's sake. At least not until someone has a fit of jealousy and grab a knife.
Cait being sweet in some scene or another doesn't mean the devs are baiting people.
The root of this problem is the inability to grasp how different people like different things. That and that most people like having someone care about them, even if they're sexual deviants.
I could go fetch some random NTR doujins to illustrate the problem if needed.
Edit: however, it seems the shit started with my possible misuse of the word fuck-buddy. I guess Cait has some romantic shit going on, but I don't think that equates to something that would change her completely. Like being monogamous.
She's still straightforward and I doubt people actually think she'll abandon her faith.
Imma' be real with you, I don't think I understand the point you're trying to make, so lemme try to make my post clearer for you.
First off, my post was based entirely on my personal views and opinions on the matter, not any objective facts. It isn't meant to be an argument. I am fully aware of the fact that people like getting cucked, and if that's something you're into, that's fine. I'm not here to kinkshame anybody, and I didn't do so in my post, atleast not in a way that's my fault. I also NEVER claimed that the devs were baiting anyone.
Now, let me make this clear - FOR ME(MEANING THIS IS AN OPINION) Cait sleeping around isn't necessarily the problem, It's the romantic undertones the game seems to imply. There's nothing wrong with a character being affectionate or slutty, I'd still fuck them in the latter case, I'd be disappointed but sexy is still sexy. My issue(AS IN, ME PERSONALLY) is that I don't like when it's both at the same time. Is this character monogamous? Yes? Then turn the romantic vibes on. If not, then turn them off. And if they can't have one without the other? They can fuck off as far as either is concerned.
And that's exactly what I'd like to do to Cait - fuck off away from her. However, the game makes this incredibly difficult because:
1. She's required to even just start the game.
2. You're automatically given her quest - something that pisses off my inner completionist vehemently.
3. The game constantly mentions her and she shows up in places despite not even being a proper companion that's even interacted with.
4. This is the biggest offender, massive chunks of content are gated behind her, particularly Ahmri's wedding and the temple.
I might be forgetting something, but those are the major ones.
All I want is the option to avoid her without losing out on so much shit. I say that I don't like it when romance and sluttery are mutually exclusive but the thing is, that's always and issue I can avoid. I don't like NTR, does that mean I go to every NTR doujin to leave a 40 page rant? Of course not. When I scroll past NTR, I just frown and move on with my day. Cait is shoved in your face throughout the entire game and that's infuriating. You can say to just NOT play the game, but the thing is, for as much shit as we give this game, it has genuinely good content to offer at it's best, and somehow that fucking sucks.
TLDR: My disappointment with Cait would not exist if she was monogamous. My problems with Cait would not exist if she wasn't romantic. My vocal complaints of Cait wouldn't exist if we could properly avoid her.
Again, let me make it clear, most of this is entirely opinionated. The only thing that's really objective here is Cait's obstuction of content, but if you actually like her, then it isn't really.
