The review que is really long and it isn't unheard of to wait a month or two for a reply. I submitted the first part of my minotaur foreman around februari. Got a reply in may, and he got implemented in november.

There are a lot of community submissions clogging the review que. For example, I got like 150 pages of gay sex stuffed in the box.
The minotaur foreman is great at least.

Or the quickest way to edit post-quest Lumia into a new save file. I'd rater not play a whole new game over 1 question option.

Speaking of kids, how can I save edit out things on a file so I can talk to Luminia about children? That seems like a complicated thing that I could use more input on.
I'm not sure if you're asking how to edit so you can ask Lumia about why her children aren't demigods or if your talking about Maternity Duty so I'll just answer both.

I've tried deleting everything involving the convocation that I could. It's still grayed out as a talk option. I only found a couple of things in the editor involving the Convocation of Mirrors.

"They live vicariously through side characters for some reason. I've never seen a group of folks so hellbent on roleplay through NPC."
This... is unironically, how i have been playing the game recently, treating the MC not as my own character but as a NPC that other characters can have sex with, i literally have to disassociate with my own character to enjoy the scenes and it made me care even less about the story

While i don't even think the erotic writing is bad (for the most part), it's just that i can't get invested in ANY of the characters, i can't get invested in MY character because it's personality changes drastically depending on the author or the unique traits that i choose to have get ignored in favor of the "Author's Vision™" for a scene, and ironically, i can't get invested in the NPCs because they are either someone special OC with very detailed backstory that i don't fucking care, OR have one-dimensional personalities and only exist as vessels for kink (which isn't necessarily bad, only that i cant get attached )

I can only speak for myself, but writing the PC is really hard and not very enjoyable. Mostly because of all the variations that needs to be taken into account.

The drive for me when writing is the NPC, since that character is my own creation and I can mold them however I want after what kind of kink I'm going for. I can use whatever personality I want and I can do things like character growth and stuff like that.

When you write the PC you can't do that. You need to take into account that the PC is very nebulous. The PC can be a man, women or herm with 3 different personalities and a billion different body parts. If you are a hobby writer like me, you just avoid most of that stuff because I'm doing this for fun. The only variation I kinda enjoy to do is Champion/Dark knight/Bimbo variations. And some quick blurbs about penis and cum size.

It's also a reason I avoid writing anything with Etheryn. She has 3 major variables resulting in 9 combinations you need to account for if you want to include her in your scene.

TL;DR: the NPCs being "super-special snowflakes" is because they are the most fun to write.

Nobody said writing is easy nor writing for the PC isn't more difficult than a static character. But if you choose to write for a game where the player make choices and can customize their character then you have no right to complain of the difficulty nor justify ignoring the basics of the game which is customize you character.
And yet the core team have decided to ignore player agency because it's too hard, some transformation have been canceled (taur for example) because the paid writers didn't want to do the work of writing variations.
With hindsight I'm sure they would have prefered to make a game with a generic main character, no customization, no choices and just being a voyeur on their NPCs but the project wouldn't have take off like it did.
For the community written and submitted content I'm more tolerant because they're not paid and do it from love for the game but they still chose to write for a difficult and specific kind of text game.

When this cash cow finally dries up I have no doubt CoC3: The Quest For More Money will be even more stripped down and bare bones that this shadow of the original game.

I've heard here that the after TiTS the plan is for the next game to not focus on transformations at all. Not sure how valid this claim is but without the transformation aspect their games are extremely bland.

Allow me to preface this by saying. I'm not specifically coming at you. I pay zero attention to individual writers, outside of those brought up here. And the ones who pop up the most in game. So I have no idea which finger in the pie you are. For all I know, anyone you've written is off to the side just chillin.

But this is what I was talking about. How it's like people are living vicariously through NPCs... because they are. We are shadowboxing/competing with other people through their OCs. Writing for themselves and their enjoyment. Which isn't necessarily an issue. But it does happen even at a detriment to player experience. Again not you specifically, but it's like some folks forget they're making a game for others.

But you know what? It's also on me. Expecting corporate level checks and balances. From a Patreon game that's essentially a bunch of short stories glued together. Then single stapled to the game itself. That's my fault.

Like you got normal games out here where you're side eyeing and asking if something's a self insert.
Then you got CoC2 over here like.

Mhm, I wonder if they think about that and from time to time I think they realize they have to cater to others by actually allowing the PC to have a moment or two but it's all just to placate the player and not in service of the story or experience. Its infuriating to watch things get fumbled this hard when all it needs is a solid leader and editors that aren't 'yes men' to actual go over the submissions and make an additional effort to make thigs either connect with the setting or reuse characters where appropriate.

I've honestly given it thought and think that's a good idea, hear me out!
>You limit the PC to only a hand full (5 or 6 transformations, 6 or so traits that have an interaction with narrative, then 10 characteristics for personality expression) of dials for the player to tweak but give those dials loads of content for interactivity.
>The PC is a character on their own with their own history but how they express themselves is dependent on the player, think Harry from Disco Elysium or Shepard from Mass Effect. Makes writing for them less of an ordeal for them since they can't get a self insert right like the Courier (Fallout New Vegas).

There's a lot more rolling around in my noggin but thats just where I'd start with a new game.
