Having looked at them, agreed. I can't seem to find my way in this game. I'm sure it will all become clear once I play more and learn the layout of maps but I currently have no idea where to go next. I'm still at the beginning of the game, one of the quests I have needs me to go to a forest to find a witch or something but as far as I know game doesn't point me in the direction where this forest is. Is the whole game like this? Am I expected to go randomly until I finally stumble upon whatever quest wants me to find? I don't like handholding in games but I expect game to indicate atleast the general direction of where I need to go.

I am reading journal, game says there is a witch in the woods. It doesn't give an indication about where "woods" is. So unless I am blind(which is possible) I don't see the prompts you are talking about.
If there is an indication in ui or somewhere I do not see please let me know it so I don't feel lost about how to progress in this game.
The game relies heavily on reading the wiki. Both for quest help and to avoid unwanted surprises. And of course the wiki is outdated...
There is something truly hilarious about having a NPC become falling down drunk by the time I'm done with them. Haven't noticed the addictive bit come into play though.
Purple_Heart On your first playthrough, I'd recommend ignoring quests at first and just exploring areas. Go into an area, explore until you unlock all the paths to every tile on the map, exhaust all the available encounters/events on said tiles if you wish, rinse and repeat. That way the map will start making more sense as you get yourself used to it. As long as you don't haphazardly skip all the text, you shouldn't be too lost in the world. Others have already mentioned that the wiki is outdated compared to what's in the game, however, you should still make use of it. There's plenty of useful info on there when it comes to quests, characters, etc. One of the more useful things you'll find on there are the solutions to "puzzles," all of which combined are less mentally stimulating than a single mid-level sudoku puzzle, as well as the
