You seem to miss the issue. Not being forced into the decision would be ideal. You've got the ability to opt out of every other thing even remotely leaning towards sex. Being leglocked here is a dumb decision. Far be it for I to pitch for monogamy given I already know what Savin has planned for the character. I don't care about Etheryn at all. I'm stating a weakness.
And that is one. No matter how much you (personally) don't mind. Other people clearly do.

It's akin to going into game threads tagged NTR and complaining that there's NTR. Ryn's driving thing since her inception has been getting rid of her cage, to go into that assuming that once said cage is off she'll have no interest in using her dick is foolish. The option to not interact with that content was not continuing her quest line.
I think most of the criticisms are pretty legitimate, especially when it comes to the writers focusing on their own likes/dislikes. Sometimes I'll look to see who wrote a scene, and usually when I'm impressed with the quality of the writing, William or Wahn is the author, but when I'm looking because I'm wondering why the character really, really wants me to know their tastes in sex, it's almost always Savin.
There's a balance obviously, and the vast majority of Savin's writing is seriously good stuff, but there should never be a moment where the reader starts reading biases rather than kinks, or ego over connection.
ie the PC hates anal but does it for Syri, and it's nothing but "you love this, don't you buttslut? you bitch in heat, but not heat obviously, because I'm fuckin' your butt!"
Bit exaggerated obviously, but it leaves nothing for anyone but Savin.

Porn writers writing exclusively things that get their motor running is a good thing. It's how great porn is produced. Churning out stuff just because other people want it gets you content that's dry and tasteless.
Games ghat focus on a specific fetish, or a small group of fetishes generally have way better sex scenes than games that try to have something for everyone for that exact reason.
This game gets around that by having a fairly wide group of writers. But I'd personally rather each writer stick to what they enjoy and are good at than try and satisfy people who aren't into the content in the first place.

Uh, no, no it's not. This kind of media is best when they cater to the playerbase, not themselves. I mean, it's great if they and their players share the same preferences, but if they don't, well, it's not very fun for the guy playing, now is it? There is a reason that third party content is still being made for the original, even though Flash was murdered a long time ago.
Personally, while there is a lot of stuff in this game that I like, getting to it is such a chore that I don't even play it anymore. I just open the debugger and read the stuff that I want to read.

And that guy should obviously be playing something else. That's the point.
The audience should be self selecting. If everyone writes about what they're into, then everyone will link up with the things they are into written by someone who has passion for those things, not have to wade through a crapload of stuff churned out to hit as wide an audience as possible.
That's 100 percent my point. The people working on the game now are under no obligation to write anything they don't want to write. They write what they like, amd the people that like the same thing gravitate towards that content. That's how porn should be written.

That would be true if this game were an original IP, but it's the sequel to a much beloved title. The audience already has certain expectations haven't been met. It is, therefore, criticized for not being what they wanted. The audience should always be accommodated first, even if it means doing things that the developer doesn't like.
Really? huh...haven't had storage issues myself, then again I do try to get all the extra chests I possibly can (There's the one with Garth, the one in the Wayfort ruins, the one Oxanna's daughter "sells" after you kick some kitsune tails and get her mom's bag, the one Gweyr gifts you at the end of her whole quest and...I think that's all of them?)

The super weird shit that people miss about CoC1? That wasn't written for mass appeal. Jizz sucking mouth lipples, lips bigger than a person's head, incestuous bug-on-bug sex, hoeny rape-happy futas....that stuff was written to appeal to the person writing it.
Thats why there's so few fuckable dudes in CoC1 - Fen isnt into dudes.
It branched out mostly towards the end, when it started getting more submissions amd Fen started taking commissions (Patreon wasn't really in full swing yet).
Heck, that's theoretically the entire ethos behind Patreon - artists create things that they want to create, you find the person creating stuff that you also like and give them money ti do what they're doing. How well it works is....up for debate, but that's what a patron does.
