How did that end up for William again? Oh yeah, all of the content he liked and wanted got denied, shafted, and then buried. William was by no means perfect, but he did not deserve the consistent treatment he was receiving from his "coworkers".

I'm not saying that I wouldn't write, but the atmosphere in that environment is disgusting and only serves to stifle any form of creativity that is not directly desired by Savin.
Most of William's stuff got added though, right? I'm a bit out of the loop to be fair, but did anything he submitted get outright rejected aside from the Sophora stuff?
But yeah, the impression i'm getting of the Fenoxo and Savin work environments is that it's very unprofessional, wouldn't wanna work for them either.
Wonder who, if any, they have for HR.

His only project that got denied was the Sephora expansion, which was also reviewed by Nonesuch. Who I might remind you isn't an employee of Fen or Savin. Fen publicly stated that he was willing to work with Will on getting the expansion into a more workable state at a later date. Before anybody brings it up, Einen didn't get denied as she was never finished and Will had missed the longstanding deadline for companions.

Will was struggling for a long time to remain productive enough to actually finish any of his projects, which were way beyond the scope of basically what any writer was attempting regularly. There's a reason why very few writers attempt to put out novel sized characters with any sort of regularity. It just isn't a feasible pace to maintain and I'm not sure why people think it would be when it just isn't the case with mainstream writing. I wish the best for Will and sincerely hope gets his writing spark back, but he definitely wasn't cut out for writing as a job instead of as just a passion.

They are nowhere near large enough to have anybody for HR. Unless there's been major shifts behind the scenes in employment, there's around 10 people between both games. Off the top of my head CoC2 has Savin, Wsan, Tobs, Drake, Balak and Moira. TiTS has Fen, Adj, and Gedan. Then there's maybe Leek, donkey, and Jacques.

While I would definitely agree TiTS has had a major management problem for the past few years, I really don't think that's the case for CoC2. Anything could always be run better in some way, but when it's already better run than well over 90% of the games on here it's hard to justify any major changes. People really need to keep in mind that it is a passion project built around a medium where sheer output isn't an objectively positive metric of production. There will be issues when you have a bunch of different writers and having their styles clash, but that is the price you pay for getting more content on a regular basis that isn't just generic four sentence sex scenes that look like they belong in unnamed text game from over a decade ago.

Hmm.... I think I just realized Demon viv was a thing, or I forgot all about it. Was it always possible for her to be a demon, or did they add that in later?

This will always be such a funny concept to me. As if this game has any standing on initiating deadlines with their workflow.
You mean with updates nearly every week? It's easily one of the most regularly updated games on here. You might argue that the updates aren't always of the same size or quality, but that doesn't account for work that goes on behind the scenes. I'm really failing to understand the point you were trying to make here like there is any sort of ground to stand on when it comes to Savin's team breaking deadlines or being wildly inconsistent in a medium that already isn't measured in gross production. I for one would not like to go back to the days of maybe we'll get an update this month.

It was a simple choice that Savin made well over a year in advance to reduce the amount of futureproofing and retroactive changes that would need to be done for companions.

Fucking expensive passion project, eh.
That money really doesn't go that far when you realize that they pay Patreon a cut, then the income as a business gets taxed, and then they pay taxes on their personal income. Are they likely living more comfortably than your average artist? Probably, but living better than paycheck to paycheck isn't really something to aspire to. Do you guys even think about the fact that the money is being divided between multiple people or the fact that there are fees and the upkeep costs to maintain the equipment they use for their jobs. Savin and Fen aren't just hoarding tens of thousand of dollars each month. Are there aspects where it could probably be spent better? Maybe, but I'm not prone to trust the ideas of people who completely ignore even the most basic and obvious aspects of running a business.

longstanding deadline for companions.
Bullshit. We got Viviane turned into a companion long after that supposed deadline was over.

Edit: Yes, I know Viviane is an old character. And that does not change the fact that they suddenly went and made her a companion AFTER rejecting Will's Einin. It smells like usual Savin's pettyness.
Now that Will is gone from both projects, it became clear how Enin's rejection ties into bigger picture.

This stopped being a passion project, like 2 years into the patreon flow of money. By then, it became a business, same as any other. They keep releasing this content to us piece by piece, to make it last longer, to make the money keep coming in. Remember when the main quest was actually progressing every month? Remember when they actually had passion to see it through, taking into fan's considerations, and more?

That's not what's happening now. CoC1 was a passion project, because it was made without the expectation of money. Larian Studios makes passion projects, because they can actually deliver on what fans are asking for, and have more to show at the end of the quarterly months, than even a game like this which makes 30k a month to deliver on this.

We know the money isn't going to the writers, they get paid shit.

It's edging at it's finest. How people don't realize this yet, boggles my brain. :ROFLMAO:
