Okay dude, be for real. There is no "most". That's what's referred to as a vocal minority. If you're using the like 20 people here that go on and on and on, bitching(and I'll be fair, it's not all bitching, there's legit grievances in there) about the exact same shit for hundreds of pages as your "most" then yeah, I'm on the money.
There's over 2k pages in this thread, there is no way in hell you're seriously implying only about 20 people here have grievances or misgivings about this game. MAYBE its close to that number as far as people that still chime in and to an extent follow the game still, but overall its been more than 20 people who have across the years and different forums/communities/etc etc. shared what they believe could be done to improve the game, and what its doing wrong

Ah man cloud meadow now that was a disappointment, I loved the pixel animations but that game never updated and when it did there was no content.

Getting into a tizzy or a slump about review scores on f95 is mostly meaningless with the amount of uncritical praise and hatred that flows in both directions on nearly every game on this website. The average abandoned ren'py game with questionable renders swims in 4s and 5s. While some really good games are barely over 3.

I just have a quick question, have you looked at the reviews on this site, notice anything different from steam? Steam has a very binary system where reception is based on whether owners of said game report they enjoyed the game or not, which is also why steam does both overall and recent due to how simplistic the review system is in the scoring essence. F95 is a site that uses 1-5 star system, coc2 at present is 2.9, that is low, but if this was just 20 people hate jerking it to the game it would be 1, yet a 2.9 shows a decent contingent people giving it high or mixed reviews alongside the negative ones. I can't disagree with your echo chamber if you refer to the present, but that is more indicative of where commiseration has gathered due to a denial of criticism. Also weird point regarding vocal minority in that you are not wrong that this thread is the vocal minority, but within the context of the post you were quoting feels clear that the post's "most" was in reference to detractors of the game not necessarily anyone that knows the game.
Man that game hurts my soul. Amazing pixel art and scenes, decent enough variety, acceptable enough concept (not the biggest farmin guy), BANGING music. I still bump that farm one from time to time. Hell I just put that shit on now that it's in my mind.

Honestly with how breeding season went down I would have been surprised if it had made it all the way to the end.
CoC2 isn't like an awful game or an awful dev cycle. It just has issues. It's at the right level of contentious where it's cathartic to talk about it without being so run down and busted that it starts feeling uncomfortable. For what it's worth, they haven't had another year as monumentally abysmal as 2022 so that also helps. There may be a bit of drama here and there. But, I fully expect CoC2 to make it across the finish line, one way or the other.
As a whole I think it's less cynical then that. You're right that people that back a project usually stay backed until the page dies. But, I believe fumbling the bag is less milking being the goal and more it being the last resort. You see all kinds of games die from breaching patreon ToS, insufficient funds, burn out, real life, or all sorts of other scenarios.

One of the easiest things an addict can do is substitute an addiction. for devs money÷effort, makes more sense than money=effort(especially for an addict looking to maximize a high), when the audience still needs them for the fix, regardless of what they do after the player is hooked. And players are just gonna splurge for a taste every time. I heard somewhere that porn addiction affects the brain the same way heroin addiction does. if coc1 was heroin, then coc2 is supposed to be heroin 2 but it's not its muddy and its cut. the coc2 title was the lowest effort hook imaginable
In my opinion one of the big issues is the patreon system, where it feels that creators are incentivized to basically shit out content for a single project rather than finish a project in some sort of timely manner and start another project.
That's not true. Not all AAA games are like that. A lot of them are actually pretty good.
To be fair, they aren't all religious prostitutes as Cait mentions that there are also poets and artists in temples. Then there's also the scientist Darius who doesn't whore himself out and Amina who just dances. So it's probably safe to assume there's some degree of separation between the functions of each temple. Still a bit gross for it to be in close proximity though.
On a smaller scale, yeah. The games here (far as I've seen, which isn't a lot) usually have very small teams, close to an one-man operation and all which really doesn't help but it's understandable.
I did just find out funding her temple is basically funding a whorehouse with financial kickbacks. And people have talked about her grooming religion in the past, kinda why her bit of telling Brienne she'd help with her kids can be rather problematic.
