Well, I guess the type of game Coc2 is also throws a wrench into it. It being a text-based (more like text-cringe thanks to Savin) game, you can't really see or interact with the kids unless writers put in time and effort into writing scenes specifically for them. Whereas in other games, say 3d rpgs, they can be portrayed as npcs idling somewhere in the hub/house location and having a couple generic barks shared among them. Could even use them to factor into certain game mechanics, like helping keep the house clean while you're away (filling cleanliness bar up).
Basically, like other rpg games handle generic noname npcs.

They already removed resolve stat, so why don't we finish the job and completely do away with other character stats too? Let's leave in only the text, all those numbers are impersonal and don't matter anyway (as there are almost no stat-checks in this supposed rpg game).
