I’m confused about this game, people are saying they’re waiting for mod support, or that there is no mod support, or that modding the game is difficult, or that the game is unmoddable.

Then some other guy says all content is under resources/apps, I check there and I find the content. I edit Cait’s dialogue and it shows up in the game, no issues.

If there are no mod tools for this game I’ll just port my mod tool I made for COT to this game and start making mods. First thing I’m doing is changing all of Cait’s dialogue so that she is much less slutty. At least in the early game. I’ve been trying to get back into this game, that was one of the main things stopping me.

I hope I can find a way to add some darkskin girls like Merielle and the purple haired cat chick as companions too. That would be a plus as well.

It's a dark setting about a world being ravaged by monstruous beings from another dimension, and the souls of all living things used as tokens in a game for power. Your champion because of a freak accident became the one character than can turn the tide and maybe, maybe, even bring salvation to the very enemy of all things good and pure, or at least as pure as that world allows it. Yet all of this is executed through uWu furry logic filter

There's bnot really any mods. There will never be any significant mods for this game, to be honest; it's just wishful thinking.

All the content is in one location though. It seems like you can make significant mods. I don't really care about gameplay mods right now, I just want to rewrite characters and add some interactions.

All the content is in one location though. It seems like you can make significant mods. I don't really care about gameplay mods right now, I just want to rewrite characters and add some interactions.

Iirc, it was never "unmoddable" and more of Savin&Co intentionally sabotaging their own code, to make modding as annoying as possible.
Most mods for original CoC were doing stuff like dedicking/removing Urtha and/or attempting to finish the blatantly unfinished characters like Helspawn.
Savin really hates mods (how dare these filthy modders touch his perfect futa OCs!?) and has seen it as personal attack when people made mods for CoC, so they completely outlawed mods on fenforum, and do their everything to stop people from making mods for CoC2.

Funniest thing is checking old forum posts and seeing how Savin went from "Here's a thread for your mods and stuff" in 2016, to this in 2020:



But anyways. The actual reason there's barely any mods for COC2 (those that exist are very recent), is because people with relevant modding skills just don't give enough of a fuck about this pile of stinking shit Savin dares to call a sequel to COC.

I love that their argument for that is, “The only reason you could have for modding the game is to put in content that’s illegal or that’s too poor in quality,” when it’s like … so what? It’s a mod. Yeah, no shit the Thomas the Tank Engine dragons wouldn’t have made it into the base game of Skyrim; does that mean that mod shouldn’t exist? People just want to have fun. (Not to speak of the million Skyrim mods that fix shit, are 100% lorefriendly, or are just outright better than the base game.) Also, the community submissions take fucking forever, and are vetted by this chucklefuck and Tobs, among others; you really think these guys are the end-all-be-all in terms of judging the quality of writing or storytelling? I think my “slutsune slut-wife” and her “mommy milker funbags” would beg to differ.

Any mods made with my modding tools is update proof as long as the dev doesn't mess with code (just like any other game). So you can have mods that will never need an update, and other mods that will need a little more updates, especially when modifying content that is still being worked on (just like any other game).

I use VSCode for everything, it's like a better version of notepad since it has dark mode and easy to install extensions

Allowing mods involves a lot of additional work for the devs. People like to mod games and then complain upstairs when it breaks their game, or when an update breaks their precious mod. They'd also have to vet any mod posted on their forum, because they're indirectly responsible for them, like steam is when they release a game with a virus.

Looks to me like this was just a case of "dealing with mods on our forum is just not worth the effort", because at the end of the day most users will never install a single mod.
