They kinda represent every problem with this game all at once. Land's a horny shithole (guess who's usually the horniest), content is usually blown on side characters (guess who usually gets more updates) and full of OCs (guess what gender they usually land on). It's also the favourite fetish of the game's head honcho, who's probably the main culpirit of every bad thing in this.

I am surprised that they didn't allow her to actually grow one in addition to her penis like Arona did tho. I think she has too many variables already so that's why they don't do it. They've been cutting this game to the bare minimum for a while now.

The only reasonable explanation i would accept for why Ryn only has a dick would be that they were actually a boy when they were younger but because of Alissas obsession with them she feminized Ryn a little bit and placed the cage on them

I’m pretty sure that was the original plot-line. I distinctly recall hearing it said that Etheryn’s original story beat was a prince who had been feminized by his abusive older sister, which is the state you’d find them in, but as the story progressed, I think the writers got cold feet.

One of the only remaining nods to this in the entire game was Hethia’s lines to Etheryn in the quest where you rescue Garret, which are now unused, since Garret’s quest was changed to be mandatory.

I get why they changed it, but personally, I think it’s fucking lame. There was serious potential there, but Savin pussyfooted around the risk of offending people with less-than-perfect representation of ‘muh pretty dickgurl princess’.

Honestly, that’s kinda the issue on the larger scale. Just look at corrupted Khor’Minos getting axed; I guarantee you there was an element of ‘I bit off more than I could chew when planning’, but you can’t tell me nobody winced looking at the implications.

EDIT, because I’m not done:

The question of “how did things go wrong” compared to CoC1 (you know, the thing people have argued in circles over for hundreds of pages?) becomes pretty fucking clear when you extrapolate the earlier conclusion to this.

Times changed, people’s sensibilities (and sensitivities) shifted with them, and people didn’t want the darker aspects in a porn game, even when that porn game has a brand to keep.

Sure, it's more fun than playing the game. Except for the Lesbian Knight and the Bee Girl, they'd still be irrelevant with an emo phase anyway.

I'm glad that's the case, it would kill me if they were to take the original Bridget plot from Guilty Gear about a boy forced into a role for society expectations, and having to learn how to live with his own identity, with what being a man really means for him, and twisted into the new western plot of Bridget "was trans all along", man what a waste of good ideas and development

Etheryn as she is works great, her big quest is fun too. You get to play as Conan the Destroyer destroying the evil family member and her demonic forces and now your princess sits on the throne. It's one of the most fantastic adventure thing this fantastic adventure game let you do

i didnt say it wasnt asked for, i said it keeps getting made even when other content is asked for. like specifically i remember there being a bit of an uproar (here at least) when kalsyea got more shit because people wanted other stuff to get fleshed out not this random ass side character that is extremely offputting to many people.
