I see RWBY got brought up( and Darling in the FRANXX( Zero Two and Klaxo Princess are goated)). Imo, much like some of you said, RWBY started of great but quickly spiraled after Monty's passing( may he rest in peace); but if there's ONE singular thing I can say to have come to like from the mess they made, it was Ruby's breakdown and the memes it spawned :KEK:

Never gave the slightest damn about RWBY but I did think it was the "goofy lesbian RoosterTeeth anime", didn't know they went so far as to have actual lesbians on it.

As for ToBs, the most I can say is that he approved and passed a submission that was so subpar it basically had to almost be rewritten properly (which is crazy, because he is known as the harshest reviewer. I can only assume it's because it was from an avid kitsune fan and for a kitsune that had been in limbo). Ever since, he's basically disappeared from Discord and has even dropped down to part time. He used to do a lot of the review work, so having his review privileges revoked has slowed down the community review process tremendously.
Fittingly, he got tricked by a kitsune.

It was not. It was solely my decision to not genderbend the bunnyboy, but I'm determined to not let things turn out in the same way as the Berwyn situation, even if it did earn me some shit from some of the regulars. I really want to give him a fighting chance as a viable companion and listened to the feedback from the players that are asking for reasonable things.
Much as I'm not his target audience, I do wish you good luck with that. Herculean task.

Regarding Takahiro, I started working on a quest to sober him but was asked not to continue. He will most likely be removed from the game entirely upon full release.

I'd love to have more stuff beyond Master Tollus or The Alraune, but someone has to write them.
...And approve it, right?

I want to get mad, but that's what the show is now. It grosses me out so much as soon as the original owner dies, these ideal-obsessed shippers take it over and turn it into a shit show.
And that's the shit I don't like. When something that is originally created by the owner is then taken over by another. And then the whole identity/character of what that thing is, is just gone.
Like, I live in perpetual fear of that happening to Berserk. As much of the author knew Muira, dude wrote peak once in (Holyland) and then nothing else worth mentioning.

Now this does bring into question if Marked Mercenaries will be removed. They also had a slew of things planned for them, and Jane and Lusameme are quite popular characters, but I do not think that there is a reasonable way of closing up their loose ends, especially within the time frame of this game's development.

Also, little sad that Takahiro is getting removed since he is one of few fuckable Kitsune men we get, but also screw him. Being his side dish as his drunk ass woos Azami with our help is a choice I still do not understand. The reach of it is wo narrow and it just feels like a humiliation ritual for the player.

Speaking of Azami -- I am guessing that she is the Kitsune that got in without much quality control. Not that I read her content, doesn't interest me, but it is either her or Tetty, and I don't think its him.

Its possible, there are enough hooks around that a satisfying conclusion can be made for them. Its just who's willing to stitch them together.
Leofric is the Blue to our pc's Red, Jane is the impressionable captain that could be swayed either way and the representatives of the mercenaries know the pc. Tira is officially in the game and there is a temple to her in the mino tunnels, there are multiple skirmishes going on during the first two acts and apparently Leofric had a similar vision to Arona's brother.
There is enough here to make a quest and close them out.

You sure about that? That did not feel like the plan. Not based on what was presented.
From several years ago when Hugs was still around: unknown.png

From the last time it was talked about in the discord.

SmartSelect_20250905_065403_Discord.jpg

By the time he left the project, Hugs showed up maybe once every month or two to mess with DCL and be rudely homophobic, to the point where some of the other devs were at the point where they were threatening to leave because of his behavior. He didn't really care about the game itself anymore. SmartSelect_20250905_065200_Discord.jpg
Not by any means trying to strong-arm away from their own conclusions! This is what I've been told through my interactions with the devs and the community members that were there for it, since I joined the community a little bit after this all happened.

Regarding Quin's rewrites, Bubbles original plan for him was to be a spy undercover in the Cult who had access to ancient magic (the statute magic) that was also secretly a noble. The statue's original purpose was to act as a temporary Wayfort Dungeon to later rehabilitate cultists.

I felt like all of this was a bit much for a companion NPC, you know? He's essentially trying to be bunny James Bond. I don't want him to outshine the PC, I want him to have a story that the PC - should THEY decide to - can dig into and have a say in, should they decide to. The statue thing was specifically requested to be removed (which it was. I write for free and on my own time and I logically can't commit to writing a bunch of extra characters, even though it would've been super cool to have that rehabilitation stuff in Quin's story). That being said, I can understand the skepticism regarding his content going forward. I can only hope that, if interested, you'll give it a try and provide me with some honest feedback and criticism that I can use to grow as a writer.

Regarding the mercs, I am planning to wrap up their content, as long as I can actually get around to it between my other projects. Their original plan was to have Leofric be the next mini boss for encounters, and then end it with a small dungeon, but that wouldn't be the way I go. I am unsure if I will be allowed to write them now or if they're slated to be axed. I'll have to double check with staff before going into it more.

It would involve curing Lusamine with a talisman blessed by Lumia and helping Boomer become Salwah's understudy. Once they left the Merks, then most of them would follow, which would have the PC then going out and hunting down Leofric for a final showdown, (with the side option of temporarily recruiting Jen to help or corrupting and turning her into a demon to have her show up during the confrontation and drag him away never to be seen from again).

What you said is all news to me.

And, yeah, that Quin explanation is definitely to much. That is by far the most complex motive in the game, and not to his benefit.

It almost feels like the bloke (Quin) was lying to the player about his intentions of joining the cult, which just muddies the waters of his already muddy backstory. Are you telling me he always knew the cult was crooked to the bone and that he only joined because he wanted to rehabilitate the poor souls inside of it? It all just seems so at odds with his initial "I got duped into joining the cult when I was at my lowest point in life, and also incredibly horny."

I could be reading to much into it, but that is how it seems to me.

Though, besides the statue thing being thrown out, will he still be a former -- well, attempted member -- of the order of assassins? A secret noble?

What else is getting in and out?

Even though Salem has all of the relics and has apparently pushed everyone to Vacuo (Beacon and Vale got destroyed offscreen. I'm not fucking joking. Look up the volume 9 epilogue animatic that was half finished before Rooster Teeth croaked.) I'm sure RWBY will pull some bullshit out of their ass that either reforms Salem or traps her in the zone of silence or whatever. And Cinder will probably be a good girl now and everyone will just dance around singing praises to Ruby.
Haha, you must be joking....

The girl who literally broadcast to the world "Hey guys, remember Grimm? Yeah they have a Queen. Oh, and she's completely immortal, so no way to fight her!" is portrayed as a messenger?

This shit so bad, Tobs is taking notes :KEK:

Yes, he was outright lying to the PC about his motives. Essentially, he'd graduated top of his class and joined the Talons, but defected to investigate when new recruits started going missing up north and the rest of the talons wouldn't do anything about it.

The reason I know this is because I had to get Bubbles permission to write for Quin when I first adopted him, and he told me Quin's backstory.

What I've adjusted it to is that Quin was following in his dad's footsteps to become a Talon (which is no longer a secret spy order, but rather just a specialized branch of military). He's a very, very minor noble only is the sense that he has a family crest, a last name, and a small amount of land that he and his mom share, since becoming a Talon awards it for members and families (note that it was granted to his dad, not him).

I don't want to spill too much for spoiler reasons, but how he came to join the cult aligns much more with what he originally told the PC rather than any kind of secret spy work.

While I do wish you well in your writing I still have zero interest in Quin as a companion. I don't suppose you've heard anything about someone adopting Byvernia though?

Several people have expressed desire to see more written for her, and I've said that if someone wanted to commission me to write stuff for her I would consider it, but so far there isn't anything for her in the review code.

Oh, is is nice to know that you have gotten permission from Bubble. It at least seems that he departed on good terms with you when he left CoC2 behind.

But yeah, good on you to streamline his lore. It all flows more succinctly from one story beat to another.

Having said that: while I love everything you are throwing our way, this a way of more major rewrite then I was expecting. I expected anal and relationship expansion and maybe removal of some of the less explored elements, but they

Once more, everything looks good, but it does feel like Quin is becoming a new person and a different companion. Of course, most people would prefer that and his current scatter-brained characterization and lore is hard to work with, but I can not lie that I am going to slightly miss the current bun. Not to take away what you are putting forth, but I do ponder how much of things one can change with character like Quin without him coming of as entirely different person.
Ships of thesus and all that.

But I do trust that you will him do good. You do seem genuinely into him which is comfort in itself.

Bird and me was jokingly talking about manify Byvernia. Other than that I don't think there are any plans for her.
Do it! Honestly, doing that to her seems more appropriate considering how boy crazy she is. If she is so keen on finding her perfect man, then why can't she become one for champion.?

Hirrured the bunny girl.

Of course, then there would be backlash, but worth.

Several people have expressed desire to see more written for her, and I've said that if someone wanted to commission me to write stuff for her I would consider it, but so far there isn't anything for her in the review code.
Did you ever get commissioned for anything?

Wait a minute... we got two writers in here! Perfect time to ask questions. So since you guys are hopefully in the know. I'm curious if anyone has mentioned anything about.... Liulfr? And on a scale of 1 to not happening. What would happen if someone wanted idk.... Berwyn content but all that extra shit just lopped off. Like say someone wanted strictly female Berwyn with 1 to 2 titty options at max. And no added pickle. Would that even be allowed? Or is it one of them deals where you gotta buy the whole thing even if you only want one part?

If you can make some solid Jen content I will PayPal you fifty dollars and give you a solid high five.

That is to low, unless you want it to be 3000 words. Usually the price is 20 dollars per 1000 words. Seems steep, but writing, compiling writing, is like that.

Edit: oh wait, I jumped the gun here. You mean tip then for free work.

Liufr will probably stay where they are. At most they will get a bust. I don't think anyone wants to pick them up

May I ask about the plan with Faceless Blade? Cause after facing her for the second time she seems just to end herself.
