That's how they got you. There was good quality at the beginning, I was super invested in the lore and was excited to see how they would handle corruption. I didn't care much for b̴̠͍̥̘̀̒̂́r̷̨͖̖̖͇̞͇̐̅̃̄̅̉̒̈́͆̂̑͑̓̈́̾ĩ̵̞̪̜̇̍̔̕͜n̶̨̨͍̤̗̠̹̳̗̱͐̔̅̑̃͐̚͝ṯ̶̳̞̰̞͎̼̑̑̃͒͆̀͌. But whatever, i can just replace him with a party member. Not to mention i did a super tough puzzle(to me) to unlock a amulet that lets me interact with a fox lady in my dream. Shit was surreal when we had a child and that child was someone who not only could I actively interact with, but had a hand in raising. Combat was alright, but I wasn't really expecting much out of it and liked the simplity. There was a sense of purpose and things had nowhere to go but up!

That's honestly the most frustrating aspect of this game. Like there's so much potential and it's just squandered or half-baked because they don't want to put the effort into it. The player lacks any real agency to question the world, anything that seems world-shaking or interesting is quickly smothered in its newborn-cy. The fact that the gods are void monsters,Mallach's temple of groomers, What the gods could be doing, companions in general, How dangerous demons are due to the world being more sexually loose, How did wraiths manage to sneak past the gods, why didn't Lumia ask the other gods for help with her wraith issues, especially the one that was ABOUT TO FUCKING TAKE HER OVER, Did Kassaya learn anything about the original coc 1 champ, could the decisions made in coc 1 ending affect this world? I mean, Kassaya came over to this world, then the fox god came over. I would be cool as hell if my corrupted champ found some of Kassaya portal notes and used it as a means to conquer other worlds. The only reason people were even able to build a decent resistance was because the original queen of the demons was a lazy, spoiled brat who didn't know anything about warfare. The corruption can kill crops, get into your food and water supply, lead people astray, and was powerful enough to corrupt the CORE goddess of the world itself. Imagine what it would do in a world like coc 2, how the gods would try to purge it, only to figure out it's not that simple. Not only that, but the fact that they can get corrupted by it makes it even scarier. The potential and high stakes would have been through the roof. But instead, we got this mess where the demons don't feel like a threat, and instead our enemies are in a cult being led by this guy with an inflated sense of ego who doesn't even seem very smart or competent. Don't get me started on companions and how they barely have a presence, not even in MAIN FUCKING QUEST. It all gives me conniptions.
Yeah Milly corruption was lame and had no effects whatsoever on the population of minocity. You could have corrupted her and have her be feeding people your dick milk or something. While this seems counterproductive in your fight against demons, they aren't a unified group, and those corrupted by you would be loyal to only you.
Don't forget that the Kitsune place we go to are literally people exiled from the mainland/or just not important so they have no political power whatsoever. They invaded this land, forcibly took chi from others, yet have the autism to be Xenophobic asshats to the husband of someone actually important, simply because they refused to listen to him or let him in. It's so frsutraing how you just have to sit there and take it instead of pointing out their bullshit or allowing demons and bandits to teach them how smart it is to isolate themselves from everyone and pissing everyone off with their xenophobic bullshit, since no-one will help them now. If I had the option of just being like, "Fuck you guys, I'm not dealing with this" only for them to come to my barony as refugees because they had their shit wrecked, then I get to decide their fate. That requires the writers to actually respect player agency and not protect their ocs from the consequences of their actions.
