Funny how Kiyoko can always tell that the very mortal and not special MC had the amulet even before they met until stuff goes dark and suddenly there is a bit of the family losing faith and your daughter building resentment towards you....Buuuuuut none of them point any fingers at the literal deity who's reality marble they have been stuck in. The kind of existence who should be able to feel like something is wiggling in their domain. Nah fuck dad though he should have tried harder despite his biggest magical feat was learning blue magic in a day...in another god's Domain....who knew you were there the second you got in...
On a rare defence of TOBS, in the case of Kinu her first reaction is quite logical : the emotionnal response and the intellectual logical one are often in oposition while she can understand that the fox god had interfere in your ability to visit them, she was just a child whom one parent didn't come back from buying cigarettes. Add the reason you were away was to free her mother and spend more time with her, she could conclude that you sacrificied her childhood and time with her for more sex with her mother.
What is bad is that there is no option to restore your relationship with Kinu, she immediatly find a boyfriend and has no time for you plus TOBS force events where you witness your daughter sexual life.

Logical or not, nobody wants this to happen. I haven't seen anyone make the argument that it's so good because it's realistic and you can't always get what you want. Have you ever watched porn where they recreate a realistic neurosurgery? No, because nobody was looking for a documentary in the first place. Leave the despair content to games themed around it, like NTR, or don't write porn at all. Go finish the last GoT book or something.

And that is all fine and dandy, I'm not going to fault them for that. What I will do however, is be pretty salty that on multiple occasions mc is put in a situation where he feels like a stranger in his own "home" after the awkward air of 10 years MIA has been cleared, and yet the fraudulent god who at best damaged the family pretty bad due to sheer negligence and at worst did it for the lulz gets nothing but absolute reverence from them without even so much of a hint of a crisis of faith.

God the only excuse he could have that wouldn't be shit is that as a fake he might not have control over that pocket dimension. Alas MC shown 3 times that he totally fuckin should.

Please TOBS my man, do not shit the bed with Hotaru I fucking beg you.

People have different personalities.
Some people see the actions of both Kinu are absurd, some see them its logical.
Or we enjoy our Harpy daughter who lives freely.
Compared to the fox which has a much complicated society and relationship.
From my pov, both Kinu express their love toward their family in their own way.
Same as other Kitsunes who have their own problem and conducts...
Simply how their expression has more depth rather than simply facial emotion.
With me feels heart-warming or awkward at the same time.

Right, 'cause nothing screams I love you, parent more than showing they hate the shit out of you.
Don't worry, I'll use this as an excuse when I beat my wife harder than usual.

I show my love for them by beating the shit out of them.
This is flawless logic, your honor.
Therefore I am innocent and not guilty of domestic violence.

I mean I think its one of the larger flaws in TOB's writing styles, even in scenes where you can tell he is trying to actually invoke something vaguely positive he can't help himself and pull away from the MC to gush over his precious NPC's. It always has to twist around raise up his character at the expense of the main character and honestly it just grates to the point where I sort of just skim at best any scene written by him now.

It's a trademark alright, when you see a bible's worth of text with information that nobody gives a fuck about instead of getting to the main point.

That's the Tobs special trademark.
Kind of like how people say two things with a different meaning:

Yo, I'm thirsty can I get a drink?
Sure, man.

--
Yo, I'm thirsty can I get a drink?
Ah, it seems that the heat has gotten into you making you crave for water.
I shall look around and go to the refrigerator to see if we have any refreshments inside that can soothe your problem right now.
Maybe a cup of water, maybe a cup of coffee, tea? Or do you prefer juice? Perhaps maybe something different to spice up the choices-

Just get any fucking drink.

The only part of his writing that actually sort of works for me is that he is forced to actually accommodate the player overcoming the nonsense of his and the other writers scenarios, he can hype up this event, person, group or organization and then the Champ can come in and kick their teeth in and at best he can go: Uncouth Barbarian!

Not to mention ignore everything the PC has done so far and make them a total moron to fit the narrative.
Or make a very questionable choice instead of having a common sense for once.

They're mad at me for not being there for like 10+ years for something that I have no control of.
Should I explain? Nah, imma just apologize 'cause that WORKS wonders.

Yeah but here is the positive: He can write what he will but given how the game is structured, he always to acknowledge you win and I bet it drives him insane, the PC getting one over on his precious NPCs. They can get away, flee and scurry, be "winded and beat up but still standing" or whatever he tries to incorporate to salve his ass burns but at the end of the day, no matter what he writes, you still have to win.

His only escape from this simple fact of game structuring is in scenarios as you described, its social, non combat related stuff and honestly outside of the shit already griped about here a thousand times I don't think there is any new ground to tred. His nonsense view of family matters, some OP pysker harpy who can frag the PC's mind and you are forced to get over it, ultimately yeah that stuff exists but it doesn't change the fact you also get to kick the tar out of some of his NPCs and it probably rides his ass.

Ultimately his take on the Champ is bullshit, his NPCs are bullshit but it doesn't change the fact, he still has to write the Champ winning in a good deal of his nonsensical little stories.

If that's winning then why does it feel like shit.
I just did a good thing by freeing a waifu from being stuck inside a crystal ball for god knows how long.
And my reward for that is a slap on the face with a running start from both her and my damn kid.

If my reward for doing my best to treat my kid good is a damn bimbo with a vendetta against me then I'd rather not be a parent at all.
If that is winning then I'd rather not participate in this thing at all.
Kiyoko can stay inside that ball, Kinu can stay inside my balls. :KEK:

The only thing I'm going to interact in the fox den is the merchant fox lady and buy the crit rings then get the fuck out of that shithole and pretend it never existed.
