One would think that before venturing into the snowy north, Champ would at least bother to get some surface level knowledge about the place.
The truth is - Sav&Co are once again being lazy hacks. Even a throwaway "These lands are nothing like the maps/books I've studied" would have been enough.

Letting the champion have different backgrounds makes it even dumber, because a former prostitute or thief running away may not know shit about the place they are hiding in, but the noble?, can't tell me the one dude who traveled to this lands looking for fame and fortune wasn't aware of anything from around

Savin and co., are constantly rope walking between full ntr/cuckoldry and the sex positive yet creepy approach furries have to sex and relationships, because of that, he'll never go full netorare with the champion actually losing in a meaningful way any of their companions or love interests, instead, this will always be seen as some fun and sexy event that you're happy about even if this happens without your input, because remember, "this is not your history". Negative emotions are solely for certain plots and are never to be introduced as part of the non complex way your character reacts and relate to others, and when this happens, is usually by accident or because of spite for the player. Same thing with cuckoldry, it holds no weight at all. Everyone is or can a slut so there's no jealousy or even the pretense of monogamy (excluding certain characters locked out of the common sluttery due to what I imagine, is the risk of pushing out their paying costumers), instead is, once again, this weird sexual Olympics you're losing in key events despite being the most amazing and sexual creature ever, as they themselves describe

Which is why I rely on you guys to play stuff 1st. Then come back to talk about about all the fuckery you encounter. So I can safely duck all that shit sympathetically listen to your plight. The PC showed up in pursuit of riches, which they may obtain but sadly, those are tied to the hip with some of the most insufferable fuckers imaginable.

Notably, wherever the PC's from was probably less of a shithole.

So assumedly in whatever the final zone gets we're going to fight mooks who are our level and human bosses who get like 6 turns for our 1 turn and have 15 abilities. And you'll just have to pretend that they wouldn't totally be able to do your job for you if Savin writes them to be "friendly".

I imagine delivering probably the same amount of whiplash as Lords of Shadow 2 where in the games finale on the run up to the final boss you still have to turn into a dang rat and avoid enemies because I guess the mooks are stronger than Satan.

Or maybe they just have a betting pool on which super special OC saves the day idk

This is mostly fallout from the Kalysea discussion, but I cannot believe a lot of you people are still invested in CoC2's story.

I didn't exactly start down this road as a detractor. We had to build to this point. But, if I'm going to talk about something I'd have to at least know enough to form a reasonable opinion on what I perceive to be the fact of the matter

Most of my understanding is coming from stuff back when I still looked forward to updates. The quality of the writing in CoC2, as you are no doubt aware, is extremely formulaic to the point that you generally can tell what you're getting just by the author and what the character looks like.

This isn't exactly a hard game to at least skim

Ultra demon Tollus (ascended) is the final enemy, bro either use his evil magic to unlock some new powers through a massive sacrifice, finds this particular tool that could actually hurt the gods and now he's the real main enemy, or gets eaten and fuse with a wraith, thus becoming Sullot, also known as Sullot the Tollurian, Sullot the destroyer, Sullot the traveler, Voolcuuk Zilhfuuta, or Lord of Cringetopia

Anyway, be ready for a massive amounts of heroes now uniting together after doing nothing at all while fucking your way into being the ultimate ninja warrior the true champion and hero and all of that, or maybe watch as someone else one-shots that cue ball freak as a preview of the mandatory post-victory orgy

And then a long ass chapter of Cait saving her sister in the biggest adventure ever (we'll call it, cummyquest), EtherQueen and her EtherHarem pinning for you, Brin/enne in the never ending quest for the child support I'm not paying because there's a legion of kids and now Carmen is asking for taxes, Atugia, Witch, Phoenix, Quin and the others I don't remember vanishing into irrelevancy, Kiyoko pregnant and barefoot as she should, and the champion hiding either with the harpy daughters or Kailani and Inaya, that girl likes rocks, we have so much in common

And if anyone needs the champion they'll find them, playing bongos with Lyric's butt

It's a known bug with the newest release. The hotfix hasn't been posted here.

So help me God if that useless vampire lady ever asks for taxes....I own the repaired wayfort with many strong characters who live there and follow my lead. I rule any area south of the Winter City's lands, and I just keep consolidating more and more power.

It's happening with many flashback and dream sequences, unfortunely. Something in the new patch broke stuff.

One of the things I liked the most about the first CoC was that it felt like you were actually growing more and more powerful as time went on. That you were leading your own little kingdom in a sea of degeneracy. You could incorporate various characters and build up the settlement.

If I ever do seriously write a mod for CoC II, I think that's what my main focus would be. Sort of make so the Champ is building up their own personal glory and reach. The various expansions I've been mulling with would all focus on different parts of Savarra that the Champ and friends would visit, with the end result being full subjugation, alliance, corruption, or loss.

Maybe it's the Paradox player Romaboo in me, but the idea of reuniting the old Belhar Empire and even expanding it further just scratches an itch in my brain that spurs me to still care about this stupid game. The little drabbles of the characters mentioning history or how certain characters like Evelyn and the Mercs are from another region... Makes my brain itch with an idea of the Champ ruling as an emperor with a harem of wives and lovers from across the realm, maybe even expanding into Mareth as the Champ leads a Warhammer style crusade into it.

Damn... Now I'm thinking of Brienne, Kiyoko, Arona, Elthara all in Space Marine armor leading their kids as if they were various Space Marine Chapters. One for Minotaurs, one for Orcs, one for Kitsune, one for Frost Elves... Etc.

Guess every game needs to have their own Lostbelt 6 ~ Avalon le Fae these days. Still hate that unwinnable Morgan fight, the Cernunnos fight and Mélusine's boss fight as well.
