I agree, I like things to be cohesive and immersive, filled out with the things the world ought to have, and the consequences of that.
Though, I have my limits too, like I really don't need scat to exist. For people that don't like some aspect of a world, the solution is probably just vaguely allude to things. I don't like scat, but you put toilets, outhouses, whatever around, I am unbothered. A lot of people wouldn't want to see any of the actual mayhem children experience, but seeing there's the amenities for children and hearing allusions to what may have happened to them off-screen is really as far as you need to go. It's not necessary to be graphic and to personally take part in it.
And that's why age is a toggle in options. These things exist in the world, you might come across implications of it, but you don't need to personally confront the existence of that.
