Oh, excuse us if we can't add new quests, dungeons and zones with every update.

It's not like things have to be written, reviewed, approved, coded in and tested. It's not like other writers (not me) have lives beyond writing for a porn game.
Nobody asked for all of that. And even if they did, they could add a hell of a lot more of those things if the team actually cared about it instead of adding to a list of over 200 characters, with only a handful of those even being worth a damn. Don't be surprised when people roll their eyes at an update that only has content that should've been added years ago, yet another unnecessary new character that probably won't go anywhere, and some whatever scenes that most people won't give a shit about.

Oh, don't lie to me. They do give a shit about it.

They complain, after all.

But you know what? Fine. They don't like it?

I don't care.

I'll write what I want to write. If I want to add content to existing, available characters, I will. If I want to write another NPC, I will. If I want to add cute romance, I will. If I want to add corruption, I will.

If you want content you'll like, open a google doc and write it. That's what all the community writers wpended up doing. What I ended up doing.

You're absolutely right; let's get rid of the corruption in CORRUPTION OF CHAMPIONS, and while we're at it, let's just get rid of the PCs ability to do anything; let's railroad this non-corruptible mess into a complete visual novel with no paths so that Savin and Co. can force-feed it down our throats while our eyes are wired open and forced to read every line of TOBs Kitsune Magnum Opus for the real Clockwork Orange experience.
Shit man, i would love for some great corruption content but even the small bits in the game i would consider to be some of the worst stuff in the game. Which is a damn accomplishment considering Kinu's little stories exist.

Being annoyed that another random character gets added doesn't mean they care about the character itself. Simply the concept of it getting added instead of work being put into existing characters is what's annoying.

Nobody said you couldn't do that. You're not the one in charge of the game, a lead writer, or write for a companion, so I don't really care what you do with your time writing. I'm not holding community writers to any standard that the main team isn't.

For what? To listen to a bunch of rules, deal with annoying parsers, give free labor to a dev team I don't really like, for a game that's let me down over and over, and even then it still might not make it in?

No thanks, I'll just keep writing my own shit and not be held down by all that. You do you though, man. Dunno why you think I have a problem with you or the shit you're doing in particular. I'm just explaining why people are not happy with the update/game.

It has to be said, however, that a number of these solo devs are doing so by working themselves ragged, which will inevitably end in burnout, and is the reason behind there being so many abandoned games on this site.

I’m not saying this in defence of Savin & co.; I just want to see the myth die, according to which a good programmer/developer is one who’s constantly overworked.
I'm personally more convinced most are just hobby projects and when they're not fun anymore to work on they get abandoned. Or they're students that are finished with their education that move on to a real job and don't have the spare time anymore to work on their games. It's not like you can make enough with them to make a decent living (with some exceptions).

I am now more concerned about whether there will be more content about Alissa or Olivia in the future. After training the ex demon queen to be obedient, I hope to let her do something more intimate, such as being a bitch maid who can actively perform oral-sex every morning.
As for Olivia, her bust and full-art is just too good to be true, and that's the main reason I want to keep seeing new content about her.

If you see an abandoned project with the 3dcg tag... expect disappointment. With a hint of hilarity. And maybe some confusion.

I feel like anyone that suggests this should add the caveat that anything they write will become Savin's property, with no guarantee of having control of their own content afterwards.
Oh yeah, if you write for the game, the content and characters characters will belong to the staff.

It's to avoid people submitting and later on leaving for a myriad of reasons, leaving tbeir work incomplete. You can't pick it up otherwise.

Happened a lpfew times in CoC1.

It is a little. They're the ones adding superfluous characters.
It all goes back to the top though.

Suppose I write a branch to Kiyoko and Kinu where the PC gets the idea that getting them out of the orb through common means will screw things up and so they go on to find an alternative method thanks to... I dunno, Calise (wasn't she meant to be a way to improve Kasyrra or some shit) and as a result, you get Kiyoko's family without the time shift. Cue interactions with folks on the Tree, Wayfort and the starting village which then culminate in a picnic where the PC and Kiyoko eventually beat some random dipshit into oblivion.

Alas, I can't do that because Tobs would throw a shitfit and Savin enabled that. I'd have to go create new NPCs, which lands us at that problem you mentioned. Newer writers are stuck writing new characters or tiptoeing around the guidelines that the old writers have for that character.

Now it might hurt cohesion to just lift that hold in general but we would definitively have less new throwaway characters and you'd have more to do with those old folks.

Yeah. And if you sod off, either the work gets thrown to the lions or languishes in wait of someone willing to continue it... and go through all of the process they have to comply to submit bloody anything.

Probably something to do with same sex pregnancies leading to some uncomfortable questions on why you can't knock up Etheryn.
Now if only we could give her a pink egg and be done with that scheisse.
