Sure hope you haven't played Fen/Savin's other game lmao, there's a better example in there.
View attachment 4967236
Ah, yeah, I forgot about that. Man... Savin and Fen can be real weirdos at times, huh? Every time they inject modern day politics and issues into their games, it's so bizarre. Like with Embry specifically, here's her lore from straight from the TiTs wiki:

"Embry's original author, JimThermic, created her and her race's similarity to humans, their culture similar to Americans prior to 1970, and (in)convenient immunity to most gene mods, is all meant to serve as an allegory for the struggles of JimT's real-life friend who was a trans-woman."

....Why the hell is this in a game where you've got people running around with cocks the size of jet engines? Where people can just change their gender like they change clothes?

It's the same shit as the CoC II Kitsunes all over again! Who the fuck asked for this!? Why are you breaking immersion to remind people of a modern day issue when many are playing your game as a form of escapism!?

I'm not saying we can't have serious moment or characters in these games. But where I myself get flumoxxed is when we're introducing scenarios and stakes that break the immersion of this universe. This is a universe where body modification is so cheap and ubiqoutious, you can purchase a new set of genitals in a vending machine the same as you would a soda, would a modern day allegory for a trans person make sense?

Embry really reminds me a lot about CoC II in how she's written. A mouthpiece for the author. It's like how Skow writes lesbians as perfect wholesome purehearted chungus relationships that incorporate modern day lingo like "Sapphic". Embry is a wooby for you to white knight over.

Embry is still better in comparison given the fact you have options with her. You can outright reject her, or ignore her, or keep her platonic. But the fact she was basically drawn up to be a mouthpiece.... I'm neither trans nor do I know any trans people, but it just feels kind of gross, you know?

Man, Bubs really is as pathetic as his characters.

>Quint is an ex cultist who creeps on members of the party that saved him
>People rightly are suspicious and intolerant of his antics
>Quint: "Why is everyone so mean to me? :'("

>Takahiro is a drunk bastard who constantly makes trouble for everyone around him and is just an asshole.
>Everyone says as much about him and just see him as pathetic
>Taka: "Why is everyone so mean to me? :'("

>Leofric probably was going to be the same, given how he brushes off Jen who wants nothing more for her senpai to notice her.

>Bubs irl gets into shit fights with everyone on the forums multiple times.
>Tried to have his characters fuck beloved fan favorite characters and insert themselves into the story for no reason.
>It's even gotten to the point where he's gone into it with his fellow authors multiple times.
>Bubs: "Why is everyone so mean to me? :'("

To say that theyre doing the performative Ally schit is an understatement. Just look at all the bullshit in the game or the weird OC fixation.

Not only tht but none of the concepts like the Dungeon link into the gameplay or story, its just "the bdsm dungeon" fetish corner. You don't lock up longtime nuances or interrogate anyone for info.
BDSM sex dungeon in a sex game is pretty on brand though. Personally I believe the dungeon has a lot more potential which isn't being utilized. One of the many missing links from CoC1 which could possibly bridge the gap is the return of slave NPCs. It's already kinda soft implemented post dracia but this is a huge opportunity to actually implement something utilizing corruption in one way or another that circumvents their excuse of having to write multiple versions of multiple scenes.

That's very on brand though, nice little concepts that are never expanded upon or implemented in any interesting way.

A good example of this I think is Keros telling you to grow a dick so you have to endure Kinu stuff and being sad and trying to guilt you if you say no. Like I play stuff like this for escapism, I literally don't want the irl penis. I'm not swimming through text to add an in-game one just to indulge a weeaboo's wet dream. I'm literally who this stuff is for and I hate it.

This is a universe where body modification is so cheap and ubiqoutious, you can purchase a new set of genitals in a vending machine the same as you would a soda, would a modern day allegory for a trans person make sense?
Speaking as a trans person who loves story telling, you're absolutely right it makes no sense. The established settings in both are about how easy it is to change body parts like a Gundam kit but they're making species that break that rule to make a 1 to 1 commentary on a modern struggle, which might not be bad in the hands of competent writer. Allegories exist for a reason though, it's why I had to read animal farm. I'd be understanding about it as representation at least if it wasn't so weird in both games and felt so fetishistic when put alongside all the futa characters as if futa is a gateway drug to huffing estrogen.

It's like how Skow writes lesbians as perfect wholesome purehearted chungus relationships that incorporate modern day lingo like "Sapphic".
We need more toxic yuri in porn games.

Also I think you summed up why I hate Bub's characters. It's like they're a mouthpiece to vent a persecution complex though that's just me speculating. Though I always assumed Leofric was the power fantasy conclusion to that and he expected everyone to love him.

No I'm pretty certain that's exactly it 90% of the time. Just like how Tobs has multiple family issues vent characters.
There is escapism in the game, it's just not for you.

And then there's Bubble's shounen manga self insert

Is the laziness what gets me the most because as a concept is not thaaaat terrible, but you need to actually work it into something way less cringe

Give me a planet with a population that had a negative impact due to mods and now people are paranoid and isolated for whatever reason, crazy people, whatever it doesn't matter they don't want to deal with the rest of the galaxy unlike every other race, one of them wants to try them, and you, the brave captain can decide how to proceed, but don't give me a lecture or anything like that because that's boring and stupid, no one wants that

Only thing they should take from any historical period should be aesthetics, because this is fantasy shit. CoC2 should be your favorite fantasy flic ever with sex mixed in it, is Legend and Willow and whatever else you like. You promised fantasy and character creation, so I'm playing as Madmartigan and Madmartigan wouldn't care about dumb stuff in that setting

Space should be the same thing, I wanna be the cool captain, I'm Flash Gordon and Captain Kirk going to sexy space adventures and finding new and weird monsters I can make love to, and there's nothing less sexy than dealing with the writer's clumsy attempt to teach me stuff, I don't need that at all. Why would the space oddity I'm about to bang care about human issues?, they should have their own issues

Maybe their patreons are into it, or maybe they do it as some kind of bargain chip for the day someone decides to make a long ass video essay about the horrors of both games, so they can say, "here at fenoxo co., we care" with a bunch of OCs wearing pride shirts, in the most corpo way ever

Feels less like a game and more like therapy for people to use self insert Mary Sue's to work through some stuff but with an audience at this point. I'm still stunned they even added the ability to not get world star'd by a guy who fights and talks like a middle school tough guy.

It was going to be worse than you think
Oh my god I remember that, bubs got so pissy when it got leaked on the fen forum too. It almost seems like it's spite focused like how dare we not like the totally cool mercenary captain and want corruption content. Very Tobs coded.

Aren't the good mods like super expensive in universe? In that case it would make sense that a waitress would struggle to get them. Remember you can become a sex slave like Rhea, the maid on the 2nd planet and possibly Sera in this universe if you get too deep in debt.

Personally I found the game much more interesting when Jim was around because the team actually tried to tackle deeper topics. Once he left and everything just turned into mindless sex the game got boring.

What's the best gear for this build?
Weapon Wise: Any two handed weapon will do, I tend to switch between the Warpick or the Acid Axe you can buy in Khorminos from the salamander blacksmith.
Armor: Something light (we want the extra power here from our passive) but you wanna get the giant's gauntlets from Gweir's Quest, the Belt from Arona's quest and the hat from Matiha's quest (all to maximize damage.)
P.S: The best rings IMO for Warrior are Marefolk Ring (extra HP and hp regen for free!) and Brienne's wedding ring for Extra power (also extra defense if brienne's in your party!)

Not saying it shouldn't be a this but it does connect to any other aspect of the game and worse it isn't even executed right. You don't have any options in how you do your bdsm play - no whips, no edging, no tools. Just a weird gangbang. And them showcasing their weird fixation on sharing.

Embry can't use the more widespread and cheaper OTC transformatives because Simii are much more resistant to it. So they have to use the stronger more expensive ones.

I find Embry cheap because she's a blatant woobie based around someone irl and because she and her entire race was added just to shoehorn an irl issue that really shouldn't exist in the TiTS-verse in the first place. It's like someone adding a 1986 Ford Mustang to Lord of the Rings and have Gimli complain how hard it is to get parts to get the car working again.

Ya know if ya put Quint in that light, I am actually more interested in his character now, a sad piece of shit who knows he's a sad piece of shit and thinks the best he can get is trying to live through others, would make sense that he would not only join the freaky sex cult but instantly try to shack up with the player after meeting them.

Like some weird depressed fanboy, sadly I am sure this is no where in the same continent of what the writer was aiming for.
That would be an interesting character. Depending on the pure or corrupt path, you can pull him from the muck and his depression, helping him on a more positive path of self-discovery and self-respect. You would be his hero and some he strives to emulate healthily. Maybe even a wingman for him to get him a girlfriend. It won't be easy to fix him up but through trial, error, maybe kicking him ass some to get him out of his own head. Quiin changes for the better, not letting his past rule him, regretting the things he has said to you in the past, and is genuinely happy with his lot. This allows your character to still shine while having some part of the story focus on him. This path allows Quiin to stay straight as you help him as a bro or get the option to romance him as a girl.

Or you could prey on his insecurities, rub in how much better you are than him. Fucking all the companions he talked about wanting to fuck in his vicinity. Have them treat him like he's worse than garbage. Have cait give him a pity fuck and then she laughs at how shitty a fuck he is. He'd have low self-esteem and low confidence in his actions. To push him to the brink, you could wingman him. Convincing him to try for the girl who he's been fancying, only for it to end in failure because he does his typical loser shit to to try to make himself seem more than what he is. The girl is disgusted, throws her drink at him, and leaves. Day later, you leave him a message to come to your room at night. The girl who could have possibly become his gf/wive in the other path is someone you fuck and make your cock-sleeve on the corrupted path. Together, you and this girl turn break Quiin's last vestiges of self-respect and resistance. Making him cum his soulout via prostate massage, turning him into what he finally realizes himself to be. A pitiful excuse for a man, a chastity-caged femboy whose true purpose is to follow and serve a REAL man, aka, The champ. This route turns quiin into a submissive male you can fuck. It could also be the start of your own Cult lead by Quiin.

Look at how much more interesting and reactive his story could be. And I'm shit-tier writer, so idk how he made it so damn bad. If you are going to make a character insert, you should at least make them likable or give the player agency in how they interact with them.

Maybe CoC3 will be a visual novel to avoid those issues and we'll get the gripping tale of one of Kinu's granddaughters, who ran away from home because Kinu's dad was a creep, or something

I'm sure that kind of project would be great and loved by everyone

Sure but I'm talking in more general terms about demons in the sense of an almost hypnotic presence that charms others, that make people surrender their will and the team not knowing how to write that particular character beyond describing what they do and their effect on others, for example, losing against the demonic duo implies the champion is raped and corrupted and that corruption comes from a physical encounter, instead what I'm talking about is the psychological aspect, creating someone that the player might think, "I understand why my character would be willing to follow this other character"

I do like the concept of demon swarms doing demon stuff, fits a lot making a point of Kasyrra's "creations" being failures with little to no potential for her more ambitious dreams, but then, there are other guys like not darth Maul with the dawnsword. Having that kind of peculiarity more often would be nice

"Douchebags get all the girls so I'll be a douchebag in the game"

Proceeds to write himself as:
-Drunk loser with boring backstory
-Thirsty loser with nonsensical backstory
-Cut content loser with nothing but his backstory

Man fumbled his in game legacy in order to own randoms online
That's a particular brand of demon, I honestly can't see them doing well. Not to mention the very idea of it seems very railroad-y. What type of demon would make someone who wants to conquer, dominate, and be generally the ruler of all he sees want to follow it? Essentially, when is such a character very much against that idea?

The only way I can see it working is like that one npc from Tits where you have to keep visiting them and eventually lose your willpower to fight them back, but thanks to your crewwho notice you acting weird you can recover and get your revenge. Though you could avoid them altogether.

Yes but what if we instead slap on the "feature complete" sticker and pretend the character doesn't exist so we can introduce more half-baked characters of our own?
Besides that pitch would take too much coding effort to pull off. You know what doesn't take too much coding effort though? Writing extensive sharing/cuck content with exponentially more lines and conditionals... Gotta account for the rest of your bedicked companions and how they can fuck your love interest in front of you. If you'll lucky though you'll get one of their dicks up your ass so that's gonna be fun.

I don't know him personally, but I've hanged around the forums and other places that discuss Fenoxo to know what kind of game dev he is. A totally incompetent one. He basically lets his subordinates do whatever they want and doesn't maintain a consistent tone to his work. So much so you can tell which author wrote which scene just by the dialogue and how your PC acts.

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

All this to say, CoC2's highlights shine in spite of the game it is. Not due to the intentions of the developers. It really does feel like they bumble their way into golden moments and then turn around to ruin them out of spite.
Please tell me about the gusalright situation. I know it's not morally good but I will take enjoyment of them throwing shit at each other.

Something that is equally as entertaining is just browsing the first page of the thread and seeing how almost every one of the early player's predictions has come true. It's almost sobering if it wasn't kind of funny.
"
I have a feeling this is going to turn into a repeat of the last two games: a forever unfinished mess of characters created by people who pay for their stories to be written that include characters like chicks with multiple dicks, balls larger than the rest of their bodies, and your male character repeatedly being raped in the ass and impregnated.

The demo doesn't seem like much of an improvement over TiTS. The devs really needs to look at something like Lilith's Throne for an example of where the game should be heading."

"Oh boy, I'm so happy it's made by Savin. At least I can pass this immediately and not be disappointed later"

"All the games have a problem of being bloated and disconnected. There are so many side characters and commissions in the game that are self contained to their own scene with no connection to anything in the world itself. You also have to accept that the creators' pet characters will receive the most attention. If you play these types of games you have to accept that the story will never be clearly focused and that most things in the game will not flow together."

In literally the first 2 pages...man.
