1 - Unique mechanic or function, maybe the enable you to cook special recipes at camp or access special spells but they got to have something. Bg3 has Karlach with her soul coins or Gale needing to eat magic items.
2 - Character Drama. They bring something that interacts directly or indirectly or tangential with the story or lore of the narrative.

If that "companion" doesn't have at least 3 of these ticked off, its likely not gonna be good.
Man I can't help but keep thinking back to how CoC1 handled it. I swear when it comes to sequels you're supposed to improve upon them, and not deliver an inferior product.
They were somewhat of a double-edged sword, but boy did they do follower drama right. All altercations made sense, and aside from understandably corruption-based arguments you could almost always work around the issue to keep both followers if one threatened to leave because of another.
The Kiyoko dream where she's jealous of Cait is stellar, except that it's unfortunately just that, a dream, and that she's conveniently just a mindless whore who exist just to push out children into the endless nameless children pit.
Give the characters more substance! Put those backgrounds, titles, and stats to use ffs.

0.8.2 ready.

  • Viviane has a new quest that has a new set. This requires that you’ve met Vitruvius and Marilla in Khor’minos, and triggers upon entering the Frost Hound. And, y’know, having Viv as a Companion. (By Balak)
  • Cait’s Get Squished scene has a new sub-scene accessible if Cait has a strapon. (By melonear)
  • There’s a new Hashat loss scene for female elves. (By SlothfulSpectre, coded by Squishy)
  • Balance Adjustments: Thieves’ 1st level at-will, Fading Strike, has been reworked to be a little more useful, and the Warrior’s 1st-level recharge, Rend, has had its Bleed damage increased. The Trident has had its inherent Bleed damage reduced, and its bleed can’t crit.
  • The dyslexic-friendly font option should no longer reset every time you reload the game. Whoops.
  • Text fixes courtesy of Spotty and Zag.
Also damn that was quick, but ultimately a nothing-burger of an update. It would be more apt to just call it a hotfix, but hey, at least they got some typo fixes in there so I'm glad that's being addressed.

Absolutely agree, the character drama was spicy asf. It was really interesting how they had their own wants and peeves but it helped a lot towards giving them character moments. Some ppl might find it annoying but thts just because a lot players don't like being told No.

It also just makes sense. Bit wacky that nobody in the wayfort cares that there's literal demons walking around, and that you somehow keep finding more to stuff in there. I remember reading somewhere that the wayfort was planned to be the "Corrupted PC base". Would have been nice if we could actually lean into that aspect more, but you know. The devs not interested in corruption content and whatnot.

I disagree with this one. She's a literal Who?, who just so happens to hang out in Hawkthorne, doing absolutely nothing. If it was for me, I'd rewrite her entire backstory and premise from scratch. And her being a futa has nothing to do with it.
She's the princess of a kingdom so I assume she has a lot of lore. One of her goals apparently is to re-establish the Belharan Empire, the ruins of which make up a large part of the game's setting. She got attacked by the Alraune before ending up in Hawkethorne so that could be a motivation for her to fight against Kassyra. And the fact that she sits around the Frost Hound doing nothing (Shes been banging that maid for months straight in my playthrough) is all the more reason for her to be a party member imo. And she already has access to powerful dragon powers as a cherry on top.

I've gone on record saying that I appreciated the baby momma drama in CoC1. Like don't get me wrong, I enjoy peace and harmony. But seeing that "now who is this bitch?!" energy when you brought a new chick to the camp, never got old. A little chaos and shit stirring never hurt nobody! Now it's pretty much instant hand holding and kumbaya. Like you 3 months pregnant and I'm out here collecting bitches like Pokémon, AND bringing some of em back home. Where the claws and/or weapons at?! Gimme a lil drama!

There are random interactions between npcs at the Wayfort, adding some random stuff while camping would make a world of difference

The usually cold and composed Kiyoko suddenly acting all possessive and horny to drawn the champion's attention to her and your other companions reacting to that, Cait wants to join in but but Kiyoko bares her fangs making her jump like a scared cat, Arona would whistle, Brienne would wonder if she looks the same when the champion spends too much time away from her, I don't know, small stuff that works and opens the door for the real drama that comes later. There are already plenty of parts with Etheryn and Arona doing buddy/sex stuff and that mostly works, at least for me. That kind of things gives you the idea that they are not only sitting around in silence, waiting for your input while you do stuff because they are part of the adventure, you're constantly walking around with at least two characters and there's no friction which seems weird

I think you might be a little confused. My original argument was concerning content volume, and not count. I even made that very clear in my first post regarding the topic. On top of that, it seems your "math" is wrong in the first place, for the following reasons:
0.8.1:
1) The Hretha scene is part of Ylvid's expansion, but it's convenient how you put them as individual entries. Quoted from the patch notes: "Hretha offers a new “Service” once you unlock Ylvid’s fertility (it’s helping you knock up Ylvid)." But sure, count it if you want, since she technically does appear in a scene that's focused on Ylvid.
What you did fail to count though, as someone else pointed out, was that a portion of Ylvid's content Includes Arona front and center, which is cute considering you included Hretha but not her.

2) Isadora did not get any "content" (Dialogue or scenes) in this patch, she got it all in the last public one. What she got in this one were the KM themed powers promised in the last one. Quote: "Isadora sells a number of new Warrior powers themed after the Khor’minoan Legions as part of her training options."

3) You failed to count the Nieves interaction.

0.7.45
1) You failed to count the Mareguards breeding and knocking up the PC. By your "math" metrics, would that add up to two futas?

2) Half of Cait's content is her and the PC explicitly pleasuring Hana, who already got another scene in this update. How does the math add up for this one? Do we count Hana twice?

3) You count Calise, who's name was only mentioned in the patch notes as the reference point to unlocking Isadora's content. Quote: "After Calise’s moved into her apartment, you can now also interact with her aide-de-camp Isadora."
The content in question, Calise's apartment, was introduced in the 0.7.18 public patch, and not this one.

0.7.39
Once again you conveniently left out Nieves' content, which is literally the first thing listed in the patch notes.

0.7.34
I was confused where you got Varena, Azzy/Liaden, Livrea, and Clementine, but it turns out their content was introduced in 0.7.31, so not only is your math wrong, but your reading too.

Next time you're gonna claim that someone is irrefutably "cooked and wrong", and hyping yourself up with an epic gif, please try to be factual about it. We could go past the last five months, but this little exercise was ultimately a waste of time, seeing as you can't even get your own math straight in the first place.
That's the best part. Yup my math is wrong due to peak laziness and partially to make this point, even with the consideration and additions you pointed out it still would be in favor of female npc content.
I skimmed the patch notes and added i didn't anyone thought wasn't a named and more prominent female, shemale and/or herm npcs that got any new or was realeased. I honestly heard Nieves content they added was smaller. I think Mareguards got 1 scene and barely got names. I'm still missing like 4-7 more female NPCs getting random one-offs and 3-5 hemale and/or herm NPCs.
If I counted any and female, shemale and/or herm NPCs the math would still be be in favor of female NPCs. If people want to talk overall content wise that's still a massive landslide towards female NPCs.

Just think of all the Observer content alone, And if we don't count Observer content there still would be heavily favored towards female NPCs.
Here's a generalization of the towns alone and should say enough
Hawkthorne: landslide female NPCs content
Orc camp: landslide female NPCs content
Cow city: landslide female NPCs content
Elf city: mostly female NPCs content
Shark thing: even I think
Horse town: landslide shemale and/or herm NPCs content
Centaur town: landslide female NPCs content
Wayfort: landslide female NPCs content
Fox town: landslide female NPCs content + Observer word count
Someone once did the proper math and did way more accurate than I. And even if they got it wrong it still would be close.
And it said the same shit Word count, scene count, the amount of named and more prominent characters vs female and shemale/herm npcs.
It never comes close to the amount female NPCs content

At this point everyone just assumes the player is a lil quirky and stopped questioning it once they realized the world runs on porn logic.

She makes more sense than Azyran as a party member tbh. If Azyran wasn't made by one of the main authors she'd be relegated to one off dungeon companion and forgotten about and probably only gets the spear on the weirdly loose "royal" logic because she can be called a dragonfly as a pun. Evelyn in concept feels more like she should be involved than she is.

Orc camp: landslide female NPCs content
I think you misspelled curb stomped by troll land.

Elf city: mostly female NPCs content
Isn't there like only one male frost elf and he's just kinda there?
All snow elf lore can best be summed up as "the girls are fighting".

but back to more important things like lack of good goblin NPCs
Goblin Slayer is protecting us.

and a lack of fem-PC femdom
Like the femme pc is the domme or lesbian femdom? I agree either way though.

Also anyone else just save edit in moth lady's super sword or the dragon spear to use to make combat bearable purely out of spite?

Whatever, dude. We could keep on going back and forth but I doubt we'd go anywhere. So I'm just leaving it at that since there's better ways to be using our time.
but back to more important things like lack of good goblin NPCs, wake-up blow jobs, and a lack of fem-PC femdom
This, however, is something we both seem to agree on.

I know you will never stop with the cherrypicking. Because you have a narrative to uphold.
But from just 8.1 patch you exluded Arona (she has scenes with Ylvid, even tho the patchnotes don't mention it at all) and Nieves, cutting down futa count in two. Which tells enough about the quality of your "math".
And I think this one example is enough to completely disqualify your "math" from being a serious argument.

Funny sidenote about cherrypicking. This was already pointed out literally two pages ago:
Cherrypicking? Me?, I'm accidentally lazy at best.
Last time you quoted me i thought you was taking about the other person. So if that the new post I recently made that generalized stuff doesn't math out for you somehow tell me what exact comparison are you talking about and how or where are shemales/herm NPCs getting more content than Females NPCs. Because I'll got get them math in like 2 days when I get the time off.

I more than willing to be wrong and this game is just like tits where they are throwing dicks at you all the time. Maybe i don't play enough I'm willing to find out.

Weren't there quite a few instances where Savin was making him do half of that stuff?
I can't remember whether he request/bullied/commissioned, I just remember it was done for him.

Idk. Dude must at least enjoy it to some degree to write that much content for it.

Randomv: Are you talking about Sandre and Caera? If so, I have to disagree. You can eventually invite them back to the wayfort, disguise them, dom them and de-dick them. If every futa in the game was as malleable as those two the game would be objectively better imo.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Completely agree with that. If they're gonna be in there at least let us do something like that.
Especially (this goes for CoC2 & TiTs) since a fair number of them become one through corruption/accident (not willingly) but then don't get the choice for you to help them get back to normal (except for the paladin in Hawkethorne - I remember that one)

You're not just cherrypicking, but also blatantly lying.
Elthara, Daliza and Hethia are literally the only females in that entire city. Everyone else are either a man or some variation of a dickgirl.
I don't count Gytha because she never even was in the Winter City. First you fight her at the entrance, and then she leaves and never returns to Winter City ever again.
Quick Edit: Forgot about Marigold and Kesuk, but they come as a package deal, and it's cuck content so I don't care.

There was a screenshot from their discord where Savin very smugly rubs in Wsan's face that he'll only get paid it he writes more dickgirls.
It's been posted and reposted in this thread a few times.

There's something to it bro. Being the one cucking for once. Maybe this is what a power fantasy feels like?

I've skimmed through the Octavia content against my better judgement and I'm telling you. No amount of coercion can make a man write something that extensive unless they're into it. Likely an out of context joke or something because that's some of the hardest futadom content I've seen even by this game's standard.

That screenshot originates from years ago. So what probably happened is something similar to Adjatha, artist for TiTS. Adjatha's art degenerated into inflated balloon animals over the years, and Wsan also developed this severe futa addiction from years of writing for CoC2.
Ironically the only things getting corrupted in CoC2 are the writers themselves. :KEK:
