I struggle with parsers because I find them confusing, as in I am not good with computers and making parsers that doesn't break is difficult. I also think they are an eyesore to look at while editing.

See, that's the moment where someone high on the totem pole should wake up, realize that the parser system is ass and either find a way to allow you to write more freely and then turn it into parser code or simply push for some progression to make the parser system look less ass.

If that's a common issue, a common opinion among staff and volunteers, then that should've been on the hit list for a while now.

You know, because that's what a lead should focus on. Making sure the gears are actually spinning properly with minimal fuss.

The sudden realization that imperialist fox soul vampires are the good guys and are actually doing the world a favour.

Ima say something completely contriversial......I prefer small/thin Kiyoko, aka how she looks prior to her first pregnancy when you find her. Even her first or second thickening is fine enough, but man, did she HAVE to become the same body shape that is already so prevalent in games like these?

Like don't get me wrong, she looks good like this; but its not like we're hurting for voluptuous/shapely characters in this game, or in other ones.

Classic Kiyoko is fine but you can't deny the upgrade fits a bit. Real shame is that it's probably not a petite-to-grown-to-mature type of vibe.

While I myself see her new bust as a welcomed upgrade, considering Kiyoko's thing is her progression from emaciated NEET to full on MILF... I would sort of like it if her final form was REALLY MILFY to really hammer home the theme of her fully embracing her breeding kink. While I'm not a programmer, making a good foundation can really save huge amounts of time later down the line and that holds true everywhere. If I remember correctly, some of the decisions like not expanding starter races or not dedicking a certain princess were explained by them messing with the code too much. Could the code be made much better/easier to utilize?

But some serious talk on these voeur scenes from someone that enjoys writing them. There are several reasons why people enjoy them.

- People want to see two characters that isn't the PC have sex

- People like the voeur aspect and having two followers "perform" is a kink.

- They are fun to make from a writers perspective. You get to pair up two characters you find hot while not having to bother with the PC's one million parsers.

I can't speak for other writers, but to me, the PC is just another character. A quite bothersome characters due to all the variables and a hard to define personality. Couple that with having to write for girl PCs when I prefer gay stuff.

When I write voeur scenes in my projects they are basically treats to myself since I can focus on things that I personally find attracrive.

Now, I will say it is their fault for all this parser nonsense, and that the best strat it was to tone down the amount of transformations and keep it in depth instead of a wide breath. We're relatively to a handful and then have established traits that can be used as personalities for the pc.

I do think indulging yourself as a writer is a good thing, but at the same time, you have to remember, you have readers who want more than just a particular fetish and we're not some vocal minority. Its a majority of players that try to experience most of the content offered if only to see if its their thing.

I firmly stand my ground that the transformation and character customisation system needs to be reworked, but under no circumstance reduced or removed. Your logic is flawed and will only strip CoC2 of the last thing tangentially tying it to the original CoC.

Let's be real Lol, Coc2 is barely a sequel.
The transformations do need to be scaled because it prevents a lot of depth, the majority of scenes from Coc1 were because people were volunteering to write their own fetish stuff, from a Dev perspective that is extremely unreliable. You cannot rely on people that way. Which is why I say reduce it and then give it depth through numerous interactions. And if someone wants to write their fetish fine, but you do not need to have so many transformations on different body parts that ultimately mean nothing, I'm a fervent believer in just having species transformation alla Ben10 with combst and exploration integration. What I would bring back from Coc1, 1 to 1 would be what the mob unique sex scenes for certain transformations.

CoC allowed mixing and matching whatever races and body shapes you wanted, like a centaur with tentacle dick swarm. Savin hated such complexity and so he streamlined transformations to mere cosmetics, removing bodyshape transformations entirely. Look where it led to!

Community writers were the very thing that built CoC from ground up. It all relied on people's passion and interest. And Savin hated it, so he streamlined development to a tight in-group of main devs. Look where it led to!

Coc1 was a busted unfinished game with shitty rng that punished the player needlessly, it had a great concepts and interesting smut but it mechanics were poorly executed and shaky in their implementation. Coc2 removes these interesting mechanics all together but replaces it with windows dressing and none of the depth, which is worse.
Having a core dev team is important. But also, community writers are very much important. I'm not saying do away with them.
What I'd was is say is a synthesis of cutting the fat and increase the meat. Hand for full species to change into, a few novel mutations (I like being a centaur with tentacle dicks), stats that indicate personality. Sure its not as broad a selection of species but there is more depth because there would be a mandate to make more interactions between the buttons the player presses.

I think you're throwing out the baby with the bathwater.I think the idea was sound. But because he's an asshole, he took it to its extreme. In moderation, this could have worked because all he had to do was keep the interactivity of transformations with combat, with exploration, with the sexual smut and narrative.
He ripped Coc's guts out and wore its skin, what I'm asking for is a leaner beast.
