Yea, this game is brimming with potential, but severely hampered by really shitty design choices.
Right off the bat it would be massively better if they just flat out remove all specific day requirements.
and dear god replace the godawful combat system with something less painful and grindy.
or better yet, just remove it and say you always automatically win because you are awesome like that.
and while we are at it, remove money
this^ cannot agree more. also the save menu never used to be hidden like it is now, at any time you could save or load including in the middle of scenes (like i ALWAYS do so i have a pseudo-gallery within the save menu) but now that is not possible for absolutely no reason, just makes wanting to re-view scenes or go back to an exact moment (like just before choices) an absolute pain in the ass
The gameplay loop currently is just spam sleep on the couch for a week until you loop back around to whatever day you need for the current quest and repeat for every quest. not to mention the quests lines arent really interwoven with each other after around the mid point of the game so you can basically complete one quest line before barely even starting others which is just strange and at random and outwardly unimportant moments a seemingly mundane choice can completely halt any future scenes down that route rather than take you down a different path AND it doesnt even warn you of this.
Additionally the stat system seems like its completely broken and fiona favours are as well, you can just skip almost all of them for some reason and go straight to fucking, locking quest-starts behind lust/corruptiun stats for each character is something i actually recommend, just dont make the start requirements abhorrently massive like a lot of other H games (or fiona training), it ruins the game and just turns it into a grind-fest (again, like fiona training). currently theres no point in even having lust and corruption stats for PB, ice queen Marcy or flame princess since it affects absolutely nothing. implimenting
non quest related scenes (similar to that of fiona favours) for the other characters could be a nice way to make use of these while still letting quests not be locked behind lust/corrupt stats (and would essentially make pseudo-side quests for optionally grinding stats to unlock optional scenes) and it triggering these scenes could contribute toward corruption/lust stats; for example asking ice queen for a handjob could increase lust and/or corruption slightly for that character which may unlock more scenes such as blowjobs etc AND locking quest behind certain lust/corrupt levels could mean that
at least part of the grind could be locked behind h-scenes (which everyone likes since youre making progress AND gooning)
Also the amount of training that is needed to progress fiona lasts WEEKS and you barely get any scenes from it, none of them particularly good either. its pointless tedium for functionally zero reward (i understand that there will be more scenes for this in the future but the effort-requirement to get there in the first place is where my frustration mainly lies)
Similarly the combat is literally just spam click attack button until finn runs out of health. balancing this so the block is actually useful might be nice and consumables like potions can be used in combat too. (Mity games do combat quite well in Ren'py imo, honestly just take
heavy inspiration from those games if you know what i mean)
Much of this game feels like its not even half of the way there and stops abruptly right as its about to get good, i
HOPE this means in future it will get better, but currently the games development seems very random and erratic. no system is ever developed to the point of being entirely funtional (like lust/corrupt stats or training or favours, or combat).
Additionally scenes feel kinda teasy for some reason, theres not a whole lot of actual sex happening but again i would assume its just because its still somewhat early in development. i hope it doesnt go the way of Innocent Witches though, that would be such a shame.
most games make a system and make have it integrated continually throughout the rest of the game and/or interact with the other systems (like corrupt/lust stats interacting with questlines/scene avliability), but this one seemingly forgets it even has half of those systems at random points throughout the game for some reason, makes it feel kinda janky and buggy and convoluted.
i have my gripes with this game, but its entirely possible for all of these to be fixed as they are relatively simple to fix. THAT BEING SAID, i LOVE the artstyle and the story isnt half bad either, but currently the "scenes:time spent playing" ratio is a bit lacking imo. currently id give this game a 3/10 for gameplay and an 8/10 for art (i think some of the older drawings might need updating as the newer ones definitely feel more polished, but its nothing major, the gameplay issues are far more pressing)
