Btw, from my experience in hospitality, that kitchen is huge. The restaurant I worked in had a kitchen half that size for assumably as much or more tables.

Same, I was quite perplexed by the game’s title and the characters calling it a café when I saw the size of it and what’s on the menu. But as S1nsational said, the Family background explains the former at least

Isn't there something early in the game where the MC comments that the kitchen is huge/awesome? That would fit well with it having been designed as a "dream kitchen" by someone with a lot of money. The MC might find out more about it later.

Yeah, very early, when he first walks in basically. As it's been mentioned, he was the head of a Founding Family, and the more space the better. He might not have been rich like Hamilton or Gilbert, but he definitely had money. I personally think the Cafe spaces and the apartment bedrooms are just right.

I've been in classrooms in middle and high school that had the double occupancy desks decently spaced out, like the ones in a classroom from the earlier versions.

As for the kitchen, I personally love spacious kitchens like that, giving people enough room to move around in, especially if they get a third person in there (which I'm assuming at some point will be Akari). Being a cook myself, I feel more comfortable in bigger kitchens. The one in my last apartment in Boston was claustrophobic.
