I wonder how certain scenes would need to be rewritten for a SFW version, first thing that came to mind is the kings game sections, they have a bit of sexuality sprinkled throughout and I cant really imagine them without it. Also, far more importantly, Akatsuki, her character moments are like 50% sexual in nature. I guess it would be possible to keep the catgirl thing but lose the groping and stuff.
On the SFW... almost the first thing the MC does is ask a teenage girl he barely knows what her bra size is. Rachel would have blown a gasket... and Rachel's level of insanity isn't as far as insanity goes.
You could make a SFW story about a guy running a cafe and being the heir to a secret family etc... but it wouldn't be THIS story.

I dont think cosy making a SFW version would mean he stops making this one, it might add some time to the dev cycle, but to me thats a fine trade if it means the game stays going
Maybe I just lack optimism but I don't see how a safe for work 'Cosy Cafe' could exist.
This AVN isn't a PG13 romance with a few sex scenes that could otherwise fade to black and it would change nothing. Sexual themes are prevalent throughout this story and in some cases are what drives it.
The early punishment games while Lucy and Victoria learn to wait tables are the main hook for the first few hours of this game. The sexual scenes with Sarah are where a large part of her development as a character comes from, the same can be said for Catherine.
You could remove these things from Cosy Cafe but it would be a much, much weaker AVN for it.

you can make a mostly pg version of most AVNs that's basically the same just not showing actual genitals. It's not hard, but takes time and effort to cut/reposition existing renders (tits are generally acceptable). Animations may be tougher.
That's a good point but I'm more worried that some content would have to be cut entirely. For instance, I don't see how you can make a PG spanking, even if you never show hand touch flesh.

there are levels to the pg rating... but generally pg means it's suitable for young kids. Showing ass and tits without genitals I'd say pg-13+. Anything beyond that R+. Steam I think has/had the same kinda rating

we already have rating boards. Its not the rating boards making a fuss its retarded psycho puritans and wankers concerned about brand damage. They don't care if it's PG-13 as long as it promotes degeneracy. They got Horror games banned because adult themes were implied, not shown, implied.
I'll support Cosy Creator regardless of the path he feels he needs to follow to preserve his ability to tell his story.
One small thing I'm doing is supporting my favorite devs with annual subscriptions.
I know it is not something everyone else can do but this way, those devs get a $ boost 1 time/year and if, for example, Patreon decides not to continue supporting that dev, they are not interrupting a 100% monthly stream of income - those devs got 'paid' in advance due to the excellence of their stories.
It offers some protection to a dev who is doing nothing wrong but gets caught up in someone else's crusade where rules are redefined on the run and Patreon says 'Gotcha.'
Stories do lose some of their appeal the longer they take to get an update but... no story at all is even less appealing.
So Cosy Creator - please do what you feel you need to do to preserve your ability to tell this story.
I am in the camp that hopes that you will continue to tell This version of Cosy Cafe even if you have to add a second SFW rev that lets you keep a 'store front' on places like Itch (and there is nothing that says you have to make sure the SFW rev is current with the NSFW rev 100% of the time since it could be treated as more of a 'demo' of the real story).

Yeah, just to be clear about that: at no point have I even considered stopping production of the NSFW version if I do make a parallel SFW version. Quite a few NSFW games have a "streamer version" of sorts. Personally I think all devs who can should put such versions up, preferably with all the sex-scenes replaces with "Fuck Visa/Mastercard" screens, but that's just me NOT relaying on a porn game to eat

As for "going offensive", as Elizabeth demanded, i think MC should open investigation. About his grandad exile. "For a better understanding his own position" as public reason. (And, of course, to stick it to Gloria as obvious reason) And ask council for assistance with it. To get available info, witnesses, evidences and arrange public hearings about it. Just for be informed about truth, you know. That will surely going to get some balls rolling.
Why not? So far he was being pushed into FF stuff by Hamilton and Alison for their goals. It is about time MC to get some answers and leverage for himself. If he wants to keep his cafe.
Also i wish more developments inside MCs harem. "Initiation into a cult" mentioned by Vicky got me interested. I wonder if the girls can organize their own close-knit community around MC, and if it will be a feature for Fletcher family. Where as other Heads have just a bunch of wifes, MC will get a proper Harem? Very few AVNs actually developing harem as whole entity. Usually it just MC+Girl1,2,3, whatever, and girls just tolerating each other without meaningful bond and relationships in between them. It would be interesting. Certainly Vicky already got idea, so, i wish to see more into it.

Thankfully, I think we are already well on our way down that path. I agree not nearly enough games have an actual harem and this game has filled me with a lot of hope with how it has handled things so far.
Like you say, Vicky is pushing this development along nicely. Lucy seems to like the concept of the MC having a harem also.
I'd assume so; it was her idea in the first place.

Still nitpicking this point. It was Vicky who brought up the idea of a harem, she wanted to be MC's girlfriend too (read: not instead of). Lucy came around to the idea afterwards.
