Who the fuck wants choices in a harem game? Nothing pisses me off more than having to skip my way through a game where you get all the girls anyway because parts of the story/scenes with characters were locked behind choices that exist just for the sake of a 'branching' narrative. And then 90% of the time it all leads back to the same end anyway.
Does making 200 saves or skipping through the story to get the other choices somehow add a value to a game? For choice to be worthwhile the story has to be built around choices, and I don't see the point in doing that with a harem visual novel.
I also wonder if the people who bitch about lack of choices in AVNs are the same people who bitch about how long AVN dev cycles are. Because every time you split your story with a choice, you create a bigger work load for yourself.

people who have more specific tastes would like a choice,be it the girls behaviour,appearance or previous(/current) relationships.
all valid reasons to not want to,and being forced to do so.....well not many people like to be forced to something they don't want to do.
rachel is actually a good example for this VN,plenty off people don't want her as a LI (currently).

Hey guys, it's time for the final dev log of 2025, though it'll only be a short one!
The last couple of weeks have been productive as ever. I've finally finished the writing for 0.14 - it's taken me a little longer than usual for a few reasons, but I'm very happy with it! It's the longest update by a pretty wide margin, currently sitting at around 40,000 words (for context, the last couple of updates have been just over 30k, and the ones before that were even shorter ).
I'm currently just finishing off the editing process, which will probably see it cut down a little bit, but I still expect it to be the longest by a good margin.
Of course, with the writing and editing nearly finished, that means I should be starting on rendering in the next few days. Though, like last year, I plan on taking a bit of time off over Christmas, so that will slow things down a little.
Speaking of Christmas, I knew I wouldn't quite be ready to show you any preview renders with this dev log, so instead I threw together a few Christmas/winter themed wallpapers, which you can find attached, or download all of them in 4k as a zip here:

Now, as I mentioned, I'll be taking a break over Christmas, so that means I'll be skipping over a dev log: I'm planning the next one for January 11th, which just so happens to mark the third anniversary of the release of Cosy Cafe version 0.1. Time really does fly!
And that's all I have to say for this one! I'll probably make a little post on Christmas, but until then, I hope you all have a wonderful time for the rest of this year, and hopefully manage to take some time for yourselves, too!
