Her parents house is just were she sleeps, and spends just enough time to be able to work as a double agent.
MCs house is her true home, certainly her home in her heart. She's moved everything she needs and uses to live and enjoy her life to MCs because that's where she's going to be using all of it.
The reason Lily comments on it is that it's an example of their estrangement. She doesn't know what's going on in her daughters life anymore, she doesn't know why her daughters room which used to be filled with her personality is no empty.
She doesn't know that Sarah has effectively already moved into MCs house, and that all she really needs to do is grab all the clothes she really wants to keep / doesn't want to leave at her parents, and she'd never go back.
Not only does she not know why her daughter's room is empty, she didn't even know that it was empty. I believe she's sincere, but the woman is clueless. MC was kind of harsh with her, but hopefully it'll wake her up.

Maybe a little, depending on how you look at it.
But there's an argument to be made that it'd be ironically far harsher to simply stand back and do nothing. Sarah has no intention of ever repairing her relationship with her mom, she sees her mothers as being as bad as her father. It's MC who is giving her(Lily) the chance at redemption.
MC is getting frustrated, he wants Sarah and her mom to reconcile, he's been trying to get Lily to do what she needs to, but she's up to now, been dragging her feet about it.
The sad thing about the picture is that MC can't just tell her the truth about it, she needs to learn it for herself otherwise it won't have the right effect
I think we're using "harsh" differently. I agree with you that MC's approach has a decent chance of being better, in the long term, for both Sarah and Lily than if he'd said nothing. He does have the goal of their reconciliation (more so than he seems to with Kitty), and feels the need to shake Lily up a bit in pursuit of that goal. He was harsh/blunt/sharp with her in trying to do so, and I think necessarily so.

Finally played the update for my birthday, delightful for the most part. However, the second day felt much shorter. Once Annabelle said she was in the goth event, it was so predictable that she would win—some excellent stuff with Sarah and Cat. I hope we get some movement with Hanna; it seems like everyone else is moving along story-wise, except her.
I am not really one for goths, but they all looked pretty hot.

This game is wholesome and the characters are really sweet. I understand you don't like it but you kind of missing the point it's kinetic and wholesome that's it. People like me love this game so much because it is just a mindless escape in a very sweet world with very lovely characters.

Yeah no, the best thing is the writing, I hated Sarah when I started playing, now I like her, that says more than anything, if the dev can get you to like someone you hate, you know the writing is good, but people have different tastes, look at whats her name, Lesbain Headlamp, didn't she say she loves all the Star Wars movies, and doesn't have a favourite.

For some people the most important thing is CHO-O-O-O-OICE, even if it is just an illusion of choice and in reality there is no choice at all. That's what the modern culture and ideology make people believe.
Essentially a kinetic novel is a book with pictures. Yes, it's a linear story. I understand that for those who never read books it's probably a boring concept
Hated Sarah?? Her constant "Idiot" and how what she meant when she said it changed over time is one of the prime reasons I love the game.

so, simple way to solve your hate for this game, stop playing it and stop with the negativity.
There are plenty of games/graphic novels where it's wait 5 mins and the MC has his way with another girl, it's great to have one where it's nice simple story with a lot of humour thrown in.
