Well, it's been a while an AVN actually made me care about its characters as much as this one.

I'm not a HS fan, and it took me a while to adjust to the characters appearance, but the story, and especially character development, made me forget about it.

Love the fact it's focusing on the story way more than the rest.

True. I guess it's the incel writer's fantasy that girls just throw themselves at him with absolutely zero effort on his part.
The problem isn't the girls throwing themselves at the mc, it's that the mc doesn't take advantage of that fact.

No not Okami. That other girl who wants to find her mom and they were in a dog shelter together and he can't piece together that detail even though several girls are animal hybrids and he's told explicitly about some girls starting as animals and then being turned into people and the use of the word "shelter". That little detail drove me insane how long they dragged it out before he got a clue.

Sorry I'm being hyperbolic. He's done other competent stuff but he vacillates wildly between competent and dense as fuck at times.
The mc managed to figure out Nagisa was Nenes familiar on his own.

I've never touched this game and it seems to be appealing with tags that I like. Problem is that I've heard it's insanely boring and the plot is drug out for way too long. Is that true? Is it even worth getting into at this point or am I going to be stuck getting through scene after scene until I get to an actual sex scene?

It's very story-centric, with very few scenes for a while, pretty much the first thing the developer tells ya while starting a new game. Personally, the models were what turned me off at first, but I got used to them, and since I play for the story first and foremost in AVNs, I really, really liked it. It's very wholesome, obviously all the girls fall for the MC, and there's an absurd number of them, but it's still fitting within the story, which is expansive, way more than I expected, and characters each have a definite personality, so much so I could pretty much know how whichever character I was interacting with would react to whatever was happening, I know it may not seem like much, but if you go through it, you'll understand. A good bunch of humor too, and some 4th wall breaking, self-reflection scenes, which were nice additions. I'm not the biggest harem fan, but with stories like this one, I don't mind one bit.

Still, if you play AVNs mostly for the scenes, yeah, it may not be for you.

Thank you for the in depth answer. I usually don't mind a slow burn if there's good payoff. Is it one of those things where there's not many scenes for a while but once the girls fall for MC, they happen more often? Or do other plot inconveniences force the scenes to continue to be spaced out a lot? If it's the latter, yeah I'll probably end up skipping this one.

I'd say that for the actual update, I must've played about 20 hours, story is very expansive and there's a lot of things happening, and a lot of character development ongoing, you can look at the gallery pretty much at all times, and I'd say there's about 20 scenes total, half of them with 'main LIs', the other half with 'side girls' (not sure about those, I think the gallery may need an update to be honest, cause some side girls seem more like main ones), but I think what I bolded perfectly describe how I see it, it definitely isn't a game you play for the scenes, they're totally plot driven for the most part, and most of the main LIs abide by the plot, which delay their scenes.

It kinda depends on what you mean by plot inconveniences, tbh. It's a story focused VN, so most of the lewd scenes are tied to plot progression. Imo, that doesn't really count as plot inconveniences. The sort of thing that makes me think of is when in some romance or drama stories there are two characters who are interested in each other and they each know that the other is interested but don't get together for obviously contrived reasons to drag out the story. There are lore reason's why the MC can't lewd a fair number of LIs (maybe about half), but there's only one LI, imo, that the relationship development for seems like it may be a bit contrived, in the sense that they both seem to want to go further but progress seems like it might be stalling.

I think if you're in it primarily for the lewds, this probably won't do it for you, like others (including the dev) have mentioned. Once the relationships with the LIs progress though, there's a large variance in how quickly relationships progress. Some go quite quickly and some take longer. I mentioned that only one LI's relationship feels like it's possibly being intentionally dragged out, but even at this point there are still other LIs that don't have lewd scenes, so even there it isn't about how long it's taking to get to lewd scenes, per se, it's the reasons for the relationship progressing the way that it is that seem questionable.

I'll describe the primary way that the plot gets in the way of progressing with LIs and you can decide if you think it counts as plot inconveniences. By the time the story gets to the point where MC has gotten to know LIs well enough to start romancing them, there are a lot of LIs, especially if you include side girls. MC practically needs a secretary to keep track of his schedule, taking into account all the LIs being pursued and following the actual story too. MC has a job, and his doing his job is the primary way that story progress and lore info are gained, although you do get some of those during time with LIs too. Given that a fair amount of story is spent working, MC usually only gets one or two opportunities per day to spend time with LIs. Even when maximising those opportunities by using some to spend time with multiple LIs simultaneously, it seems like it's a struggle, schedule-wise, to spend time with every LI during the week, and virtually impossible to get one-on-one time with every LI in a week. Going on a date per night, it would take almost two weeks just to get through every main LI and almost a month if you include side girls. So the biggest thing getting in the way isn't plot but time.

It seems to be a bit of a two edged sword. On one hand, the game might be able to progress much faster (with both story and relationships) with fewer LIs. On the other hand, for most of the main LIs, having the extra breathing room of having more time for them and MC to each think about the time they spend together and how they want to approach the relationship seems much more fitting and well paced. The other, more eager, LIs also get lewd scenes faster without it seeming too rushed as well. Although I'm not entirely convinced that this dev's pacing would necessarily improve much with fewer characters

I'm still near the beginning but does quality of the dialogue change at all? The beginning seem really annoying how nobody reacts or talks like a normal person in that nobody seems to care about anything.

Yes it does get better later on. Storytelling (writing) and characters improve a lot the more you delve into the story.

Just recently started this and found it amazing so far.I am into story driven and developed chars and this touches alot of it.I have a good question though.Does it gets explained how Kana and Kagome became vampires?Given the facts that MC being told is that vampires are bitten and be made. When the game starts they both told him that they had to abandon their family by choice. So what was that?Did Lynette asked them to be made Vampires?Kinda confusing so far in story.

From what I was able to piece together, Lynette Kojima had met Kana and Kagome at some point after the twins had lost touch with MC, became intimate with them resulting in them being turned. According to the rules of vampire society, newly turned vampires have to leave their old families to help keep vampires hidden from the outside world. Apparently, Lynette, as the First Generation of the Kojima Clan, allowed the twins as newly created Second Generation members to make an informed decision on where to live. Miko and her mom have a similar clan situation.

If you pay attention when Mariko is telling MC that he can never sleep with (have sex) with Miko, she says that sleeping with a vampire ends only one of two ways. If the other person is female, a new vampire is made. If the other person is male, then a ghoul is made. Lynette giving the twins a choice is implied in how both of refer to Lynette and their biological parents.

Really thank you for the responce. Its kinda how i imagined it went down and its the reason it bothers me.I mean to abandon your family for this kinda life seems not so logical especially for 2 innocent 18yo girls.

Had a lot of fun playing with the different Yui "pet name" options and unique dialogue responses. Some unique responses were: Yui, Aki, Lilith, Daddy, Master, Vertigo (author lol), babe, "your character name" or just hitting enter. Anyone else found any other fun pet names?
