VN Ren'Py Crimson High [v0.41.1] [Vertigo]

I'm a bit puzzled about whether this is actually version 0.37. The loading image displays v0.35, and the in-game changelog only goes up to 0.36. What’s happening here?

I just downloaded the compressed Win file from Workupload - and I see the same issue with the starter screen. However the actual image files are up-to-date.

So to compare the non-compressed vs compressed version:

- non-compressed loader shows .37 vs compressed showing .35
- Both compressed and non-compressed "Changelog" shows .36 followed by .36 again.
- the number of files in the image folder is the exact same between the compressed and non-compressed version.
- both the compressed and non-compressed version show up as "v0.37.1" in the Options menu.

So no idea why the compressed version loader shows as version .35, but everything else indicates that it is in fact .37 like the non-compressed version.

Thanks for looking into that! So, it's looks like it should work well despite the loader. I decided to go with the non-compressed version just to be on the safe side, though.

I don't get people not wanting it... Seems like basic instinct rather than a kink if I'm honest, but different strokes for different folks. But every game that has it has people complaining or asking if it's optional.

Also doesn't help that 'pregnancy' is unhelpfully vague. It seems like a lot of folks asking for it are full on pregnancy as a kink, wanting to both impregnate partners and include content that includes visibly pregnant partners. It doesn't split 'breeding' as a kink separate from 'fucking pregnant people'. I happen to like the former, and not much care for the later. So the forum's pregnancy tag, much like many others, isn't actually useful in informing my browsing by either its inclusion or absence.

In real life? Absolutely. But in fantasy? Call me shallow, but I just don't find pregnant women as attractive; and I certainly don't fetishize that body type.

I do enjoy the overall feels of this AVN. The slice of life reminds me in terms of cozy feels of Goddesses' Whim (which I'm a "sucker" for :3). MC's interaction with Miko and Suzu is freaking adorable, and hearing Suzu's story was quite heartbreaking. There are some funny attractions like Jun feeling the "tug" towards the MC (can I have it too IRL? ) , but I wouldn't be surprised if he is going to have some weird connection to The One, given the (past) religion of Jun's family, or some mix of everything.

I'm not quite up-to-date yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if Ori will become some kind of "sub obstacle", unless MC develops mythic sex powers that will remove the bad influence of the church . Her being pure in blood and body seems like the perfect candiate for more mindf*ckery.

Just finished the most recent update, I really like this game. The characters are for the most part really enjoyable, including the MC (which is not common in AVNs).

This dev managed to make me create a Patreon account to support him, and also sent my first message on this site in 5 years, that's to say how pleasantly surprised I was by the game. He took first place in my list.

Also, i started the game after the last update, so I was glad to see how incredibly cute Nene is, but even with her mask. It was obvious. The only character I don't really like is Jun. (Sorry to his fans).

All that to say, I can't wait to see what happens next.

Just quoting my post for short follow-up. I did catch up to the latest update.
Before I go on, one complaint: Maybe it was due to the web version I used, but it felt a bit rough that the update ended right in the middle of an dialogue, and not on a "clean" scene cut or dialogue end which would indicate a suspense/cliffhanger. Given how many "let's check my messages" moments we got, another one could have been the ideal to end the update.

Haha, I'm not saying I hate the character. I'll clarify. I'm not interested in her. Maybe that will change in the future depending on the character's development.

After all, At the beginning of the game when you meet the characters. I had no idea that Suzu would be my favorite.

Played through the whole game for the first time, this past week. I just played it because it gets sometimes listed as a similar game to LiL. Honestly speaking, beside the same framework used, there aren't really any similarities at all.
I played through some other "similar" LiL games (Another World and Lost in You to name some recent games) but ultimately, while enjoyable, they were never very well written.
So yeah, I was more than a little surprised by how well Crimson High is written and well-made in general. Can't really wait for the next update.

That being said, it suffers from the same issue, all those games suffer from. Having way to many girls. Always sad to see a otherwise really good game to do this. LiL suffers from the same. With so many girls, some are bound to get screentime once per year or every few months (depending on the release cycle of the game). These games will also have it very hard to wrap up the plot in a good way and I'm sure many devs will just abandon the game at some point because the whole thing got out of hand. Others probably did it on purpose with the intention to never end the game at all and generate a lot of money.
I hope none of this will happen here because I really came to like this game but maybe it's best to "hard-reset" some of the not necessary characters. Many of the Harem Honey Select games have only a handful of LIs and those games are getting finished (or are already) and belong to the best in the genre.

In any way, keep up the awesome work, dev. Games with such a well-written plot are rare and it's clear that you are putting a lot of energy into it.

Just in middle of the game now. After got engaged with LiL, I thought I'll be impossible to get involved with any game like I was with that. Oh Boy, I couldn't be more wrong. What a incredible history we have here!

I've said it a bunch of times and i'll say it again, this game desperately needs a full and proper character dossier. Names keep getting dropped in every patch, names i can't remember because the last time they were seen in the game was from a year ago or more. You can scroll through some pics with names attached but if that doesn't jog your memory you're fucked, and i find myself getting fucked multiple times every update and new characters are regularly getting added, it's a pretty bloated cast at this point and it needs to be properly referenced for obvious reasons.
