OKay, never mind. I made that AWFUL jump at the top of (19,45) I had started to think was impossible, killed the pink alraune, the balls turned bright colors, and I'm progressing again.

Oh my god, running (or even walking, if you want to penalize it) around with a belly full of edovex eggs would be so hot! Perhaps it could also be the key to some puzzle? Or at least a shortcut through one? Please let it last at least a few minutes. Belly full of slime would be hot, too. Maybe they just want a cozy place to nap, or multiply...

Have you played Dancing Reaper? That has puzzle mechanics tied into preg/eggs. When the MC gets knocked up, she lays either 'good' eggs, (health food/vender fodder etc), bad eggs, or eggs that hatch a new enemy which attacks you again, or even a final combination near the end where it can hatch a friendly helper NPC.

The current previous work on the game itself was the intro cutscene:

The new intro is easily the most complex cutscene in the game currently though - plus, it's one of the only scenes that has to be completely redone from the ground up, because it shares nothing with the old intro"

I remember the good old times where we would get substantial updates every two weeks or a month. Played the hell outta this game back then, even pledged in patreon for a while.
I know the dev went through some hard times and I respect him, but he never recovered the update frequency after that. The game has enough content for him to just throw a final boss there, finish development, sell it for $10 on Steam/Itch, and call it a day. Maybe a new project would help him? Idk.

It's good that the dev is active again, but there has been no content progression in years, and the recent updates are... sprite recolors and a story re-write. Always a good sign when a game gets a story re-write this far in development, right? Sprite recolors look very cool, and there's been a lot of updates, I'll give them that, but how about some previews of a new area or new enemies. They must at least have an idea or some concept art after this long, surely they have something? Anything at all?
Who gives a shit about a new intro? At best you watch it, go 'that's neat' and start playing the game, why allocate time and resources to that, when you could make new stuff instead? Who asked for a story re-write?

Id like to remind people that not only is game development very difficult with a team, let alone solo, but also doing it with little to no support and/or pay also increases the challenge. As well as, the dev's dont have to make the game, and Im sure they have real life matters such as difficulties or simply getting paid that take priority over this project.
Yes, I would love faster updates, but these types of games have a small backing to them. So it does take some time for updates to pop out. Also, some things do take more effort to program than you would think.
To the dev's, all this impatience just shows how incredible of a project theyve made, and the eagerness of the fans.

I broadly agree, my post probably reads more harsh than I wanted, the game is already better than the majority of porn games (finished or not), but it's frustrating to see the development pick up again and then that time and energy go to things almost nobody asked for. Maybe they have a plan that requires a story re-write and a new intro, let's just hope the development doesn't run out of steam after months of tweaking existing content and no new stuff gets made.
Your guess is right on the money IIRC; something to the effect of, when development started Anon didn't expect this much success and hadn't finished the story, once the game took off he wanted to go back and give the content that already existed more polish, and then decided to finish writing the story entirely so they know what areas, enemy designs, writing, voice acting, etc they need for the whole roadmap, without having to re-do content that was already done after that first time. His tone whenever he's talked about having the whole plot written has been one of excitement that once it's finished (which it either is, or is very close at this point I think) the project will be in "go mode"; here's the whole list of what's needed, all they have to do is make it. Having the entire plot concreted will help the team progress faster and more efficiently because they know where they're going.

This is basically the gist of it. People might think I'm just dick-riding at this point, but you have to admit it's incredibly efficient to just have the whole story done in comparison to just winging it the whole way through the game's development, and having a concrete idea of what you want to do for the story allows you to formulate a lot of the game's later designs, enemies, and areas in accordance to it, rather than trying to shoehorn everything into the old story. Not to mention, due to Patreon's (their main form of income for developing the game) rules prohibiting non-con content, that all had to be removed from the game's story as well (and Anon42 has outright said he wasn't a fan of including the non-con stuff into the game anyways). I've noticed a lot of people on F95 tend to follow the idea of "It's just a porn game, who cares?", but honestly I find having that mindset towards a game to be rather disappointing. Who says porn games have to be poorly written, or be full of shoddy gameplay mechanics that are there purely to pad out the time, artificially bump up the difficulty, and in general be disrespectful to the player's time? A big part of why this game in particular is taking a long time is that they don't want this to just be your run of the mill porn game, they want it to be an enjoyable experience OUTSIDE of the porn content, even giving players an option to disable it entirely for the most-part. In my opinion, games should be fun to play, regardless of sexual content.
I for one definitely prefer the "game that happens to be porn" approach over the "porn that has a game tacked on" approach
