Long ago, there existed "The Migration", where great potential lay hidden. Its forum was prosperous blessed with many new ideas, fans, and hope.
But one day, a being of great opportunism found "The Migration" and turned it into "Culture Shock". With this new power now his to command, he sprayed paid access with lengthening updates and missed deadlines across Patreon.
But then, when all hope had died, and the hour of doom seemed at hand...

a Forum Member clothed in green appeared as if from nowhere. Wielding the keyboard of evil's bane, he kept the evil at bay and gave light to the forum.

This member, who travelled the internet to save the land, was known as the Hero of F95. The member's tale was passed down through generations until it became legend...But then, a day came when a fell wind began to blow across the forum. The great opportunism thought kept at bay, had crept forth from the depths eager to resume pricey paid access with very slow updates.

The people believed that the Hero of F95 would again come to save them, but the Hero did not appear.

One Day, that hero will rise again. For in all of us, the hero still lives on.

And they say
That a hero could save us
I'm not gonna stand here and wait
I'll hold onto the wings of the eagles
Watch as we all fly away

How are they this slow on updates?
While the Devs of Culture Shock are surely real slow, when it comes to the title of "Captain Slowly" they are amateurs!
The Dev of "Female Agent", Crushstation, is either horribly inept at game making, I lost count how often he already "revised" his game with superflouos stuff and it get´s shorter(!) all the time or a milker.
Gumdrop is another "specialist" who delayed updates for nearly 3 years and what he puts out now is either total crap (except his continuation of his first game, but the updates are extremly small bites) or Art (depending on one´s view), but at least he delivers small upadtes.
But the current "champion of inept game making or great milking of stupid patrons" is undoubtabtly L&P with his game "A Wife and Mother". Depending if you are an optimist or pessimist the ETA of the complete AWAM is between 2030-mid 2050s(!). Don´t ask about how realistic this is unless you want to talk with his torchwielding fan-brigade!;)

Most of the popular games are like that (the ones with huge patreon following at least), they do consistent updates until they get popular enough that they can slack lol
King of Lust at least posts real progress and doesn't delay updates over and over again

In most cases, I would not attribute it to laziness or even explicitly trying to milk the game for all the got that causes content droughts. The bigger something you make gets, the harder it becomes to be satisfied with whatever you make. Thus creating doubt that what you are doing is good enough, leading to reworks, and an ever-growing need to deliver something substantial. Thus, leading to long time without updates.

Sure there are devs who just put in the bare amount of effort and purposefully stretch out the game as long as humanly possible, but that does not represent the majority.

its not even the the dev that's slow(kol), its the writers. How do you spend 3 months and only at 80%. most would finish in the first 1-1.5 month and then start rendering. and its not like the writing in this game is top tier that it warrants the time that it takes either. Kol should find new writers imo.

it's been almost 4 months since the last update ,even if the update was released in a month it's almost half a year of waiting
for 20-30 minutes of the game
update games are getting longer
I can bet you will have to wait for the year update soon
