It's to fund development while the game is still being made. The idea is that smaller developers may not have the money to produce their game with any reasonable quality, so they ask people for donations in order to fund it beforehand or to quit their jobs so they can work on it fulltime. The downside is that virtually all the risk is placed on the donators. If the developer gets lazy and drags their feet, they're still getting paid just the same. They're being paid for the promise of a result rather than the result itself. It's the same as early access games on Steam. Some turn out fantastic, while others are a plague.

That's really bad game mechanics, as in default form I feel stronger than transformation form cause at least in default we can recover hp and mp whenever we want without relying on skills to recover. As an eg./ The worm area even though its part of the story I can kill them from a distance using hp and mp potions while in transformed she just gets raped easily. So in other situations default is the best unless your forced to go transformed because of storyline, doesn't make sense right, you'd think that the transformed version would have immeasurable strength in comparison. I really don't think the game was designed with any thought in balancing gameplay.

Indeed, the battle mechanics is bad, but its based on the concept that the spirit witch only replenishes herself using sp. (The passives that replenishes hp and mp using the passive also supports this. At least you can replenish sp can be filled in any form

Edit you get the item required to activate it after defeating the ice spirit and the fire spirit. go see hiller at church you can then go to quests to find Minotaur horn , ice relic and fire relic . The orb of darkness is not yet ready
you should check the stones at the end of the path in the botanical garden.
