I really don't want to give up on the game; I've played it through once. I'm playing again, but don't seem to be getting anywhere. Am I taking a wrong turn somewhere?

Yes, it's definitely a grindfest and another thing that annoys the hell out of me is how many times we see the word collage instead of college. It would be nice if the DEV would fix this in a future update. We can only hope.

To be fair, there never was any plan whatsoever to get intimate with the mom. From the beginning (or at least very early on), Ellaraia specifically said she wasn't there as any kind of LI at all. So abandoned or not, nothing is ever supposed to happen with her.
