You want a logic gaffe, that'd be the very premise of having to hunt the mutants in the wild for their "dark matter" - if that's something actually valuable and useful, those buggers would not be "banished" but unceremoniously locked up and systematically harvested at maximum cost-efficiency.

Dystopian shithole society, remember, where everyone and everything is commodified and the typical Mega Corp business plan tends to be roughly
  1. do teh evulz
  2. ???
  3. profit!

I love this forum. We're arguing about the logic of the back story in a porn game or the use of the word "era."

Imagine if we used our powers for good.
My powers are evil? Cool! I didn't even know I had powers!

I think we all argue here because we all want great games--whether or not they are "porn" or any other genre doesn't really matter. Some people object to the fan dancer and other people object to the fan--but the dancing is still an art and so it should be good! (y)

Wait ... am I using my powers for evil again? o_O

Whenever the author says so. It's a work of fiction told from a perspective left to the author's choosing. They have free reign to define the timeline of their universe as they please, both that of the protagonist and that of the narrator.
What they do not have is free rein to redefine the meaning of words and concepts willy-nilly. "Cyberpunk" is a genre and/or thematic style usually but not always set in a near future era/timeframe.

Spot the difference.

I agree. :) The debate seems finished.

I agree with this, too. :)

Now, if we could just figure out if the author(s) of Cyberslayer defined a complete "cyberpunk era" themselves or if he/she/they are relying on us to bring our definitions entirely from other authors then we can decide who--if anyone--wins.

I hope we game-players win, so we can help evolve better games! <--- you need to imagine that these are mirrorshades ...

It could also be a bit of an iffy English translation, they could actually mean cyber punk theme rather than era. That is assuming that they are not native English speakers/writers themselves that is.

Shocked... by the fact RPG Maker MV was extended to this degree.

My brief try at MV left me confused on how to break out of the standard RPG Maker mould. The engine is simultaneously inflexible but also all-powerful since MV at its core runs is a web browser (Chromium) plus JavaScript.

Not a fan of RPGM games but I quite like this one, probably because it doesn't have those little sprites you use to walk around with :ROFLMAO:
some bugs though like some parts you had to click the same dialog 10 times as It keeps repeating the same text before it moves onto the next scene

So far so good, demo is decent, animations/CGs too, writing could use a bit of polish and there are still a few bugs roaming around, but it's pretty solid and I'm definitely looking forward for an update.

Well... I really like the demo but also feel a bit dissapointed by the ending...

But first thing first. Kassiah's face is cute as hell, but her boobs... as well as other heroine's... I would personally prefer them smaller. I understand that the Dev probably into big boobs, but still Sylia in CoL looked organically while Kassiah's boobs are not.

There were some bugs like the message repeats over and over again (got it twice in different places after hiding text (1) and scrolling it with W (2)), occurs for me only in the beginning (prologue), required restart with F5. Also I don't understand why Fat Ghoul is "she"... And last letters of some words were out of the frame and not visible.
Some other bug I got was not abling to use "submissive taunting pose" during the battle. It always says that she can't use it twice but... I didn't use it. I thought maybe we can't use it after using "arrogant taunting pose", but without it enemies can't hurt us even once. I don't know how else to trigger it. UPD: it's the same message even if I didn't use arrogant poses in battle (it's possible if taunt the Fat Ghoul before battle). UPD2: managed to get this scene with first mutant after reloading first save and using cheats. But still can't do it with the Ghoul.

Now to my main dissapoint.... it was stated that we'll play as Kassiah, but seems like later in the game the main character would be another girl =(. And tbh she's way less hotter than Kassiah. Yes, she do looks cute in her police uniform but not in sketches in he Slayer's outfit. I personally would prefer her initial haircut and revision of the outfit. Maybe adding some stockings at least, or some legs belts. Maybe some choker/collar would be nice too. And the boobs again... a little bit smaller wouldn't hurt =) Also i'm not sure if her hair color could be called brunette...

That's my 2 cents. Otherwise the gameplay and animations were really enjoyable.

P.S. Maybe it would be better if we could play for both girls?
Kinda skipped on through the epilogue/ending text dump and such, but from what I got from it, you'll be playing Kassiah, but with the new gal, name started with an A, as her sidekick down the line, and your actions can change the outcomes for both Kassiah and her, among potentially whatever other characters end up involved in the story.

Having played through the demo I must say that the game serves as an interesting further expansion of the concepts introduced by Chronicles of Leridia such as the event circles. The means of corruption of the characters by hacking is interesting but receives no real fleshing out in the demo so whether it remains simply an in character explanation for the corruption or if it receives some expansion and actual story relevance remains to be seen. Combat itself is fairly basic, as mention earlier up thread the lust based combat stance doesn't seem to be working but bugs in an early demo are expected. The number of combat abilities along with the in combat mood system for both the enemies and protagonist could if expanded upon properly with different interactions with the mood types for different enemies (e.g. confidence perhaps being necessary for some enemies who have mind influencing attacks that would overwhelm the uncertain, more disciplined foes could actually become worse fighters when enraged reflecting the fact that while stronger there abandoning of strategies for wild attacks is harming there effectiveness).

I must also mirror the disappointment further up-thread from the revelation at the end of the demo that the newly introduced girl will be the protagonist with Kassiah as a supporting character. I find Kassiah's design far more appealing and even if she remains important in the plot it does still feel rather disappointing that we had a bait and switch protagonist especially since it seems to be going the well worn route of having a more experienced and knowledgeable protagonist for the prologue only to leave us in control of a relative noob for the rest of the game.

In summary; game itself and its mechanics seems promising if a bit bare bones, but rather disappointed by the decision to abandon Kassiah as protagonist.

Well, I didn't skip anything and it's been said that Cyberslayers would be a game about Aline (bunny police girl) with Kassiah as her "sidekick" and that we wouldn't be playing for Kassiah and affect her decisions directly. They just would be bound by some mystical power or smth.

Thank you for your overall positive feedback.
You pointed out the main strengths and weaknesses of the project. This demo was really meant to show you the concept, the overall history and mechanics as well as the graphics.

I won't go back to the "cyberpunk era" debate...I was thinking more of a "cyberpunk" theme in a futuristic era. I don't claim to be a purist of the genre, just a developer who wants to make a porn game but not only, like Leridia, with an immersive sound and visual atmosphere.
There are bound to be things that won't fit, but it's still a game with an effort on a story.

I still have a lot to learn, it's a new approach and I'm using my experience and the lessons of my past mistakes to bring the best experience possible.
I'm not so surprised to see some people disappointed by Aline's choice as the main heroine. This subject will be debated in August on my patreon page. At this stage, it is quite possible to choose Kassiah as the main heroine and Aline as a sidekick.
It is also possible to review physical aspects, I know that the MC is important, we will work on it in August to start on a solid basis.

I'll do my best to make a unique game in the rpgmaker world and the first feedback are really motivating.

Here, early concept image of the demo. Yes, Kassiah reminds me a lot of one of my favorite characters...
