Yes, it will work immediately. I can't say about other RPGMaker games, but at least dazedanon's translation update is done in the same way.
So, I downloaded the new english patch and uncompressed it, and when I put the "www" folder in the main folder of the game it asked me if im going to replaced the all old files or skipped it, so I chose replaced it, when it finished, I run the game but when it still in loading screen, the error are showing up just like this
Unfortunately, I don't know the reasons for the error. What I noticed:
In "Daily Life in jeopardy\www\img\system\" I don't have "IconSet.png" in my folder, I have "IconSet.rpgmvp" there.
The only thing that comes to my mind is that the game takes this file from somewhere else. A long time ago, I needed to install RPG Maker to launch some game, but this game does not require it in the installation instructions, so I am not sure that this is somehow related.
This game does not even need a Japanese locale emulator, so I don't understand what the root of problem is. Do you only have Latina on the path to the files? This is the last thing that comes to my mind.
Here on page 15 in message #281 people discussed unzipping with Japanese locale, but I didn't quite understand what they were talking about.
I finished the game relatively recently and due to a bug that I caused myself, I needed to completely reinstall the game. So I downloaded it from GOFILE and unzipped it to a folder on my desktop without any problems.
Clarifying questions:
1. Does the game run without installing the patch?
2. Do other RPGM games run?
3. What link did you download the game from?
Game had some potential but it dropped the ball very hard really fast. From beginning on you had some hints of other stuff going on to side characters and their possible development over time. You had some interesting locations like brothel, karaoke and bars - just to never use them in game or expolore more of the story from other pov, outside some "cutscene". You had recollection room with scenes from wifes perspective - but even there some scenes werent shown that were hinted to happen to her in husbands walktrough. And all the side characters? Especially their gal friend from school who had several possible secret scenes all over the game? Nope not a single of them was in recollection room - not even her canon scene from school pool lockerroom. Its really so much wasted potential here, that would help the game overcome already rather bad art. And making a game about adult sister which changes her design from interesting one to totally generic one? Yeah... her school years would have been so much intersting, as she had air of mystery around her at that time. After second time skip she became interchangeble with any other character.
