It's a more-common-than-you'd-think mistake people changing location to Japan or display language or something else entirely, instead of actual system locale (language for non-unicode software). And then wondering why their VN/H-game/whatevs won't run.
On that note, if you don't want ot be in Japanese locale (I actually try to avoid that), yet still would like to run the game with text that will not drive you insane (as would be the case with Locale Emulator, even with the font fix), you can try NTLEAS - another locale emulator software. It works just fine, text is okay and I
think it is compatible with Windows 10 too.
