Is this like the first one where you can skip a sex scene but it is still going to happen and be brought up later? Not saying it is, but I wish devs would realize how pointless a skip "choice" is if they are just going to ignore their implemented illusion of player agency.

I don't think so. While it is up to v0.07 on itch, on Patreon it is up to v0.10. I don't know what "final quest" means, but after release v0.10 the dev shared a teaser for a new character. Maybe he is referring to the main plot(?
With this new game, he is working in 4 games at the same time. The other 2, The Dark Side of the World (this one is here in the forum) and Curse of the Soul, where removed from itch, same happened with the prequel of this one.
