Honestly, I wouldn't mind if DL just took the complete version Borders of Tomb Raider, and just swapped out Laura for any other female 3d Character multiple times. Either Any of the DOA Girls, RE Girls, FF Girls, I wouldn't mind watching the exact same video but with different Girls multiple times. still mind boggling that they'd choose to use Rey for their next video.

I agree with this, but unless it's just a face-swap I think it would be very difficult to do without having to re-do a lot of the animations because of different body sizes/types.

She is definitively less glamorous than other actresses, but I for one would not mind Captain Marvel, a girlfriend you can have a drink with, can be a bit of a tomboy but looks good naked
, and when it comes to kicking butt no need to bother too much because she can do it very well on her own .Plus, one can kind of revert it, a lots of people (I don't dare to say most, but still...) did not like Rey, transposed not liking at all the character and the acting towards being keen on seeing her on a lot of NSFW stuff - or if you prefer, directly found the actress too plain and unattractive, yet are very keen in finding her in NSFW situations.
After getting some more info, it seems the problem with her character was not only her fault, the director had a lot of say on the story and screwed it big time - they cannot make a movie where for most of it the actor do not know if the background story of their character is one, or another completely different, and expect the actor to give a good performance.
But still, most people would not indicate her as being especially glamourous or a "femme fatale", but are happy to see her in the new DL video

All this same I can say about Rey, she is absolutely asexual, but, DL choised her. With Brie its all simply - she is too clever, too strong, fempower etc, and this character must be punished, broken and humiliated. The rule of justice if you understand

I would have liked to see something like that. But he started with Marie Rose, at least twice, and scrapped it. Maybe his subscribers didn't like the character.
Also, it seems like DL is so focused on the script that he wants to shift the creative focus to Rey, even though many people are happy with the reskin.

Very good point I have been a fan of DL's work since his old Patreon and really loved the old BOTTR work I still liked the new version but some things were lost in the updated version, minor things but things that made it good to me. The Star Wars stuff was a huge plummet from the great success of BOTTR and BBB the things that he has been coming out with recently are more promising but the strange tentacle stuff, I was not a fan of compared to the Lara Croft story.
I think a even bigger thing was how come he didn't at least try a different software I can understand just not wanting to learn a new one but he has been doing this for a long long time I wouldn't put it past him to be able to learn a new software program like blender or something of that quality ferally quickly and maybe could spark new ideas but I guess like you said "as it's clear the artist has disappeared down their discord rabbit hole" I think they are just trotting along while the money keeps rolling in. Either way I do like his art still but he also had a kid and was taking care of that so it slowed down the prosses considerably, that was a while ago now so there really is no excuse now I just hope there's a spark again and a new dare I say better work than BOTTR and BBB that he creates or somebody else but I will wait patiently until then.
Pestilence is pretty similar to Darklust, but focuses on shorter videos. His longest videos are usually around 3 minutes. That allows him to target more characters. His latest video looks pretty cool:

I wonder what DL excuse will be for being so quiet the last month or so. I know people defend him but people are paying not just for the videos but for updates on how things are going. If everyone un-subbed for a short period I'd guarantee his update/uploads would increase within days.
