It's a classic but it hasn't aged well, the dev is gonna need to do more than just update the graphics if they want to keep milking it.

I'm not sure if the developer of 'Date Ariane' is a woman, but I always felt like this was the case based on how they handle the sex scenes. There's a lot of similarity of the approach of how sexual behaviour is like in 'Date Ariane' and 'Heavy Five', because I know that the developer from 'Heavy Five' is a female and I am pretty sure they are bisexual, just like the developer of 'Date Ariane'. The thing with female developers for an erotic game is that you will notice these key things:
1. Sexual scenarios are more sensual rather than full blown pornographic.
2. Everything is made to have a nice lead up to passionate love making.
3. The female interest does not care about the size of the man's penis nor do they show much of a reaction when they see it, and have more interest in the whole body of the man rather than the focus on the male genitalia.
4. The game will not or rarely show the depiction of the woman being ejaculated where the man is fully satisfied from the climax, but would rather depict the woman being fully satisfied.
5. The game punishes you for being an asshole and rewards you for being the ideal gentleman for a woman.
6. The woman has control over what the man can and cannot do, never putting the man in a position of power to do what he wants unless he earns it.
7. Your penis is super duper...average. It's not tiny, but it's not even above average either. It's always depicted as so average and boring, because these female developers don't give a fuck about your dick and your fantasies of being a big dick chad XD
If I am right that the developer of 'Date Ariane' is a female, I feel like they have self-inserted themselves in Ariane, and let's you, the players, try to impress her to do things that she likes and will not do the things that you want to do to fulfil your own male power fantasy. I played this game so many times now, it's so hard not to notice. But things I can talk about is how when you were suggested a threesome from Ariane's friend and if you choose to accept, Ariane would not be cool with the idea and that would be the end of the date. Also, when it comes to nudity, Ariane doesn't react much when she see's you naked, she doesn't even make remarks about your penis and gives you this "Wow, it's so big, I'm so amazed and it's making me so wet" because she does not give a fuck, she is more interested in you as a person.
Honestly, I think 'Date Ariane' is an absolutely gem, I'm so fascinated with it to this day because it's very different from the usual porn games you get. We rarely get female developers doing porn games, and when they do, they take the approach so different and there will be things that people don't like, but that's completely fine. Like I'm the sort of guy that likes having a scenario where the girl see's the male protagonist dick for the first time, get absolutely amazed and is so in awe, jerks his dick and he blows his load all over her face covering her in spunk. But I know that won't happen in a erotic visual novel when it is in the hands of a female who wants to take the more sensual approach, where it's all about the woman and not about the man.

I loved this game back in the old days, but I must say I am today more of a fan with a free mode or/And Open world, and so on. And added to that, Multiple girls to 'have fun with is nice. something like Superpowered, A School of friends and Friends, Roguelike, Summertime saga, Dark Magic, Shelter, College_Daze, Long Live The Princess, RPG Maker Peasant Quest, and last but not the least Harem Camp. This list probably can go on for a while but I think you get the picture. Of course, I don't say I like all girls in said games but yeah I like the freedom to do lots of shit in general of them and low-to-no-fail chance or miss best options shit without a Walkthrough.
