I was on the ground floor with Melody, so the main characters were crafted before the game began its first write. As much as I say Melody is a better game, I still prefer DMD personally p, even though Hearsz and I came to it after the VN had a few months under its belt.To each their own as they say, personally and this is just my POV to me she comes off as too much of a blank slate, she follows along doesn't really protest much, doesn't really have a quirk to her or some niche or something to grab onto. Not saying that Elena is SO much better but at least her 'take charge' kind of attitude adds a little to her character. It's something at least.
In all honesty and with all due respect to MrDots i think writing compelling characters is probably on the weaker side of things here. I still enjoy the game obviously, in particular the whole setting of you being basically a DILF surrounded by all these cute girls, but there are definitely way better characters out there. Of course as things progress we all get better at the stuff we do, with Melody in particular we already have characters that are more interesting than the ones in DMD(at least to me personally), so i am sure in future projects as well, the characterization will get better and better.
I think the big difference would have been more complex character situations earlier. Can you give us some inside opinions on the in-game characters? Who is liked and who hated, who'd stay the same and who'd be changed and how if the game was being made today from scratch?
Are you sure you didn't see when the dev was hoping to release it (some time next week)?i saw v0.22.0 has bin released on there patreon i saw it on there discord
You mean this week of courseAre you sure you didn't see when the dev was hoping to release it (some time next week)?
You wouldn't have seen it on Patreon, this game was removed because of the great Patreon purge of 2018.i saw v0.22.0 has bin released on there patreon i saw it on there discord
Best first post ever and you managed to get Dyatlov in
Thanks!Best first post ever and you managed to get Dyatlov in![]()
If we are realy talking for figures i want something like Kotobukiya Bishoujo series. Thanks!
Waiting for new release, especially when it's this close, always has wild impact on my imagination.
Got one speculative idea, would like to see what you can come up with also, what could be included in a package.
So what package? As physical copies of games are popular, one company is even releasing special editions of old adventure games soon, let's speculate what would a physical copy of DMD look like.
Personally, I'd prefer a classic big box, all in pink with nice artwork, 2D, and extra goodies. Like poster, tie-in short little comic perhaps, game screenshot cards. And a 3D printed D minifigure of course!
Agree, my intellectual friend.elene like a gipsy poor slut . any like![]()
You see, here's the thing. I share an opposite viewpoint to yours, although I completely respect how you feel. But let me try to change your mind just a little bit. In her context, D being a quote/unquote blank slate actually works. Remember, she's an 18 year old Daddy's Girl who had a super attack-helicopter mom and no worthy father figure for most of her life. (No...Brad doesn't count. Just...no.) Aside from a few creepy bois, life hasn't really hit her yet. And every time life tries to hit her, Her dad shields her. And even in her current form, her slate is not really blank. Thanks to the shenanigans of a few creepy motherfuckers, she has developed a sense of determination and strength to loom out for herself and her best interests, even if it means she has to fight, and goddamn... can she fight. And she will rearrange someone's face if it means defending those close to her. Aside from that, she gets anxious easily and has a slow-burn confidence, all of which are negated by the presence of her father. She is playful and still a bit emotionally juvenile, but then again, she's 18. Not to mention that her body, despite the level of "HOLY SHIT" it might be, is not a source of confidence for her either. Childhood body confidence issues have taken deep root inside her and are only suppressed when she is with her father. She's an awkward romantic, with not that many real-life/real-world experiences and a very, very loving father that protects her from anything that could leave character-developing scars on her heart and mind. Her father brings out the best in her and everyone else could pretty much go suck it for all she cares. She doesn't put herself out there for anyone else but her father, not only because that's all she knows, but also he's all she needs, self-proclaimed. Her personality slate might not be the most diverse, but there is quite a bit to like and a sense of subtlety that is just wonderful to me. That's just how I feel, though... Hope I explained it well and I'm open to questions or further explanations, maybe even a discussion...To each their own as they say, personally and this is just my POV to me she comes off as too much of a blank slate, she follows along doesn't really protest much, doesn't really have a quirk to her or some niche or something to grab onto. That's a good viewpoint of her character, probably about as best i'll ever receive but for some reason the character just doesn't come off that way to me, she doesn't click for me yet. Maybe she will some day i am still kinda waiting for her to grow out of her shell i mean we have been building her character up for 2 games now, even have a physical and emotional relationship with her and yet she still comes off as way too innocent and bland for me, who knows maybe that is the intent, to keep her as innocent as possible i know some people hate when their characters lose their "innocence".You see, here's the thing.
