Thanks!Best first post ever and you managed to get Dyatlov in
If we are realy talking for figures i want something like Kotobukiya Bishoujo series. Thanks!
Waiting for new release, especially when it's this close, always has wild impact on my imagination.
Got one speculative idea, would like to see what you can come up with also, what could be included in a package.
So what package? As physical copies of games are popular, one company is even releasing special editions of old adventure games soon, let's speculate what would a physical copy of DMD look like.
Personally, I'd prefer a classic big box, all in pink with nice artwork, 2D, and extra goodies. Like poster, tie-in short little comic perhaps, game screenshot cards. And a 3D printed D minifigure of course!
Agree, my intellectual friend.elene like a gipsy poor slut . any like
You see, here's the thing. I share an opposite viewpoint to yours, although I completely respect how you feel. But let me try to change your mind just a little bit. In her context, D being a quote/unquote blank slate actually works. Remember, she's an 18 year old Daddy's Girl who had a super attack-helicopter mom and no worthy father figure for most of her life. (No...Brad doesn't count. Just...no.) Aside from a few creepy bois, life hasn't really hit her yet. And every time life tries to hit her, Her dad shields her. And even in her current form, her slate is not really blank. Thanks to the shenanigans of a few creepy motherfuckers, she has developed a sense of determination and strength to loom out for herself and her best interests, even if it means she has to fight, and goddamn... can she fight. And she will rearrange someone's face if it means defending those close to her. Aside from that, she gets anxious easily and has a slow-burn confidence, all of which are negated by the presence of her father. She is playful and still a bit emotionally juvenile, but then again, she's 18. Not to mention that her body, despite the level of "HOLY SHIT" it might be, is not a source of confidence for her either. Childhood body confidence issues have taken deep root inside her and are only suppressed when she is with her father. She's an awkward romantic, with not that many real-life/real-world experiences and a very, very loving father that protects her from anything that could leave character-developing scars on her heart and mind. Her father brings out the best in her and everyone else could pretty much go suck it for all she cares. She doesn't put herself out there for anyone else but her father, not only because that's all she knows, but also he's all she needs, self-proclaimed. Her personality slate might not be the most diverse, but there is quite a bit to like and a sense of subtlety that is just wonderful to me. That's just how I feel, though... Hope I explained it well and I'm open to questions or further explanations, maybe even a discussion...To each their own as they say, personally and this is just my POV to me she comes off as too much of a blank slate, she follows along doesn't really protest much, doesn't really have a quirk to her or some niche or something to grab onto. Not saying that Elena is SO much better but at least her 'take charge' kind of attitude adds a little to her character. It's something at least.
In all honesty and with all due respect to MrDots i think writing compelling characters is probably on the weaker side of things here. I still enjoy the game obviously, in particular the whole setting of you being basically a DILF surrounded by all these cute girls, but there are definitely way better characters out there. Of course as things progress we all get better at the stuff we do, with Melody in particular we already have characters that are more interesting than the ones in DMD(at least to me personally), so i am sure in future projects as well, the characterization will get better and better.
That's a good viewpoint of her character, probably about as best i'll ever receive but for some reason the character just doesn't come off that way to me, she doesn't click for me yet. Maybe she will some day i am still kinda waiting for her to grow out of her shell i mean we have been building her character up for 2 games now, even have a physical and emotional relationship with her and yet she still comes off as way too innocent and bland for me, who knows maybe that is the intent, to keep her as innocent as possible i know some people hate when their characters lose their "innocence".You see, here's the thing. Speaking personally, I would have actually preferred the opposite. In a shooter, I don't want the socio-political ramifications of shooting 100+ soldiers in a foreign country. In a porn game, world environment... isn't why I'm here. I'm here to kill people in a shooter and to... you know... in a porn game.might have had a larger number of reoccurring but non-sex available characters to flesh out the world environment.
Personally I can't see D keeping her "innocence" during the course of Chapter 3. In point of fact there has been an innocent lost gauge since day one of DMD. As the petals surrounding her portrait turn black more of D's naivete is eroded. That's a good viewpoint of her character, probably about as best i'll ever receive but for some reason the character just doesn't come off that way to me, she doesn't click for me yet. Still i appreciate the explanation, but i don't thing she is the character for me as she is now. I know not all 18 year olds are the same but despite her developed body she comes off to me as a 12 year old in the way she acts...
The idea is to add in other characters for what I would characterize as “establishing shot” characters. What MDots imo doesmsomwell is gets these close up intimate scenes between characters. But what the “establishing shot” characters would add is a sense of a vibrant world environment.Speaking personally, I would have actually preferred the opposite. In a shooter, I don't want the socio-political ramifications of shooting 100+ soldiers in a foreign country. In a porn game, world environment... isn't why I'm here. Said practically = As a luddite, even I know that renders are time time intensive. I keep hearing things like 12-24 hours per (set of?) renders. Therefore, every render of a non-sex character is one less sex scene. I'd keep the non-sex characters to a minimum... at least until renders become a "couple minutes" thing. Then... sure... go nuts.
Or, said another way = I prefer my porn closer to 1970s "Knock knock pizza boy [sex scene]" rather than an X-rated version of "Citizen Kane" or whatever... but that's just me.
Anyhow, please don't have a take away that I don't like your great work. Thank you very much for entertaining us, and please, go by what you and the majority want. Can't make a game at all if you don't have the personal investment or the $ from that majority.
Maybe you should be posting that in the Melody thread and not in the DMD thread?????????????Aparently the way to turn Melody into a sex beast is to Kiss her, grab her ass, cup her breast, expose her breasts then repeat until yawn. Almost as juvenile as "cop a feel"
That should be the correct path to take with the character, she can't have her innocence forever, but i just don't see her evolving into anything more during the course of this game.Personally I can't see D keeping her "innocence" during the course of Chapter 3. In point of fact there has been an innocent lost gauge since day one of DMD. As the petals surrounding her portrait turn black more of D's naivete is eroded.
For Chapter 3 to be as engaging as the first two chapters D has to become more self-confident and corrupted. She should become the driving force of events or this chapter may come off as a young sweet girl being used and abused by everyone she meets for the perverse pleasure of her father. And that is something DMD fans as a group will not like.
Actualy it was the other way around. From the start the game suppose to be 3 chapters. But the Patreon hunt change that. That should be the correct path to take with the character, she can't have her innocence forever, but i just don't see her evolving into anything more during the course of this game.
Remember this game was initially suppose to end in a few updates from now, but they decided to instead do a 3rd chapter with a bunch of episodes as well, i think maturing D is more of an afterthought at this point, if even that. And again i think too many people like D because of her innocence, they see her as this vulnerable little animal in need of protection(learning martial arts briefly in 1 episode doesn't really change her overall behavior) and they would want her to stay like that, forever.
