Not to mention that skipping sharing route will inevitably mean loss of content.
If dev can do X amount of renders per update, those will be divided between different routes. Skipping certain scenes would make update look shorter.
Other option would be to do separate update for each route, but at current pace, it would take forever to update all of the paths.
I agree with premise that there is only so much that can be added on pure D route until it becomes boring.
Only way that happens is if dev wants to wrap this game quickly. If that was the case, as someone already mentioned it here,
game would have ended with chapter 2.
That being said, if you look at the game tags, sharing and much more was Mr Dots intention from day 1. It was only stopped/ slowed down due to Patreon crackdown.
Ultimately, future of this game (number of remaining updates, weather is updated every 2 or 3 months) will be decided by number of supporters on SubscribeStar.
If enough people subscribe, it makes sense to keep updating DMD.
If the most of subscriptions come through Patreon, dev will probably focus on his new game and wind down DMD.
