I've actually read the entire thread. My reaction to your comment is generally yes. But I rather strongly disagree that 2 has solely been a literary choice. Or perhaps I misunderstand exactly what you mean by a literary choice here.As you are directed to read the last several thousand of post and ruminate on the market forces that have affected DMD, you will note the truths I‘ve constantly posted in that:
1 - “a slow burn” has always been a literary choice and not a market choice;
2 - sharing with other men has been a literary choice;
3 - that the story has gone on to Chapter 4 has been a literary choice and not a market choice;
4 - limits on mmf and sharing with other men has been a market choice;
5 - that we may never have bestiality will end up being a market choice.
It is interesting how often people hold up 1-3 above and say they are market choices. Not that my postings over the years pointing out that is never been the case has ever changed their opinion. They appear to be in their little thought bubbles, immune to seeing anything but what they want to believe. For them, curiosity as to the truth appears to be absent.
I think that Mr. Dots paying market made it pretty clear very early what they didn't want for Dee. I could see possibilities around some limited very special case sharing, but little tolerance for daughter swapping or anything remotely similar. Even those limited case would have to be very carefully handled.
A case study on the evolution of this an perhaps 2 or 3 other VN's of similar age would be fascinating.
