Its looks really good..,.but I'm not as good at writing as you are. I will keep it a little shorter., maybe I should stick to speech bubbles, otherwise I'll add them at the bottom of the picture. I'll see which one looks best, but thanks for your suggestion.
which is the easiest way to add the text..what do you use?
Photoshop. I usually just mark out an outline (usually box select tool or round select tool) and dump some color into it with the paint bucket, on a new layer. I also use one of the 'styles' that applies a drop shadow and outline. You should be able to do this in GIMP or whatever photo editing program you may have on hand. As for the 'tails' that I add to the speech bubbles, like what I do with Enthralled, yeah that's using the polygon select tool to make an 'irregular triangle' that overlaps the circle/squre, then dumping in a color into the select area with the paint bucket, like I do with the box/round select tool. For the 'dots' that indicate who is doing the thinking for thought bubbles, yeah that's just round brushes of decreasing size.
Then I use the type tool in Photoshop (etc.) to add the text on top of the bubble/box, on a new layer.

Also, the 'box on the side' thing is more about leaving an unobstructed view of most of the image that you are adding dialogue to. The 'Renpy style text box at the bottom' is another way to go, sorta kinda the same idea. Whether it's toward the left or right margin, or top and bottom margin, that's a stylistic choice. You can even go with the corners. You can just combine the dialogue into the same box, indicating the various speakers in some fashion.
You don't have to write a story for each box - my diary example is more of 'How do I cram the entire backstory into one image...'
