the F95 version is the official version (which is free to download) it's just been uploaded to mega
Meanwhile I downloaded the game from the online version at . This version runs smoothly, but only if I keep it running in a window. If I choose full screen then the game suddenly runs significantly slower. I have a AMD Radeon R7 M260 and Intel HD Graphics 5500 graphics card in my laptop. It shouldn't be a problem running the game in full screen, but apparently it is.

There's other player reporting something like this. It seems fullscreen is causing lag in some setups (it doesn't cause on my old 2012 Mac mini with 4GB of RAM and no GPU!). I'm investigating the causes and I'll release a fix if I find a solution.
Note: the other player that also has issues with this has an AMD GPU (R7 200), so I'm suspecting this fullscreen bug only hit AMD cards (or at least some old models).

the game has no resolution settings so is it forcing a resolution? maybe that's an issue

I'm running renpy games and unity games at full screen without any issues, so...
could depend on the image resolution and other factors but i'm just guessing as to what your issue is as i don't have any issues personally

Your hardware is totally fine. As I said, I can play DFD in fullscreen in a 2012 Mac mini with no GPU (actually intel HD 4000, with up-to-date drivers of couse), so the issue is something else. I'll continue investigating and keep you guys updated if I discover something.

Your problem is (probably) that the game is using Intel chip instead of AMD GPU.
I've got NVIDIA/Intel combo and almost every game you'll find here will automatically use your default (Intel) graphics. SO, I changed manually to NVIDIA.

Yeah, this always happened to me when I was using a laptop that had a nvidia card. By default (for some weird reason), the applications and games used the Intel graphic instead of the nvidia chip. I had to change the settings in nvidia control panel to get this sorted out. Other curious thing that help a lot: you can update your Intel graphic drivers, and that makes an huge difference in terms of compatibility and performance.

This VN doesn't have dead ends or multiple main story lines... A guide or walkthrough would mostly just be a spoiler list, since there isn't a stat grind that I could see... Your choices alter some of the script now and then, but nothing drastic from what I could tell... The only time I could see maybe missing a piece of content, is in chapter 2 when you have a choice to talk with either the bartender or a girl at the end of the bar... I chose the bartender, and never did see what would have happened if I spoke to the other girl... But that was more or less a short side story that didn't appear to have an effect on the main plot... So in essence a guide would only serve to spoil the experience, since the VN has no grind to worry about... But hey, that doesn't mean at some point someone won't make one, but I see it as a non-issue at the moment...
It is not obvious to me what each choice leads to and this game has 'skip unseen text' disabled which makes re-doing choices such a hassle. Either need a guide because re-loading and clicking through text is time-consuming or need to be allowed to 'skip unseen text' in the options menu.
