It is sad to see a developer seemingly forget about one series just to work on others, especially considering the forgotten series is one chapter away from completion. However looking at past interactions between developer & players, I can't help but feel the lack of release has been done purposely to spite people who were vocally negative about the games plot & direction.

Nope, we're still missing Ch19 before the epilogues...

The 'game' has been a cash grab since probably after the 2nd chapter. There was obviously no content/plot written or planned other than a vague ending. I don't think I've ever seen a h-game content creator bother with attempting to DRM their product let alone be a complete sperg about it. I was more than happy to throw him some money until it became clear that was the only motivation.

If you've ever even heard the guy talk even that seems to be a struggle for him so probably just some pent up bitterness from that and other things. Loads better content out there I'd advise looking into.

Did he even ever release the Lily epilogue to patrons? The blog mentions it was coming in September but there was no mention of it's release.

It's likely that he's holding off on releasing the final chapter for free to use it as incentive to get subscribers, so he can advertise it as subscribers getting the conclusion to the story and the epilogues all at once, but I don't know if there's anyone scrambling to find out about the bitch queen and the toaster that much. It's a siege of attrition. He's trying to starve you of content so that you finally cave and give him schekels.

At this point it may be easier to simply wait until the chapters are combined and see if it gets released on steam, which Palmer has mentioned.

Game will be released on Steam :)

same content on both but cracked has voice acting to the end when in offline and online (unless is patreon) it ends quite soon after start. ofc cracked versions are several chapters behind official versions and few other things making it not worthy to touch cracked versions.

Cracked versions were from a brief period in time where people actually took an interest in this game. Then the D went crazy and out of character and we all lost interest, including the dev as the final chapter has been done for patrons for months and still hasn't been released for free. And the long rumored complete game is no where to be found so you are still stuck at playing a chapter at a time, exporting your saves, importing them into the next chapter.

A classic example there of someone presenting their own resentment as general fact. Especially the bits I highlighted. Factually incorrect, but why not have a moan anyway. I hope you're supporting the developer financially, to feel it's okay to bend fact to your personal irritations. ;)

How is it presented as fact when there are no facts given? How long is "brief", factually? Clearly no individual is qualified to speak for everyone so the statement "we all" cannot be taken as factual. If you disagree then you could just say you disagree; there's no need to act superior.

For anyone interested, here is the release history of DFD that I've put together out of my own curiosity. I've included DH as well since it seems relevant.

If it helps encourage anyone to become a Patreon, their Patreon release schedule is extremely reliable and on-point.

I apologize if any dates are off slightly, but they should be pretty close. I pulled the Patreon dates from the Patreon posts themselves but the free release dates are largely from the blog and sometimes required some digging to find the original post date since the blog framework replaces it with the last updated date if the post is modified.

Of course it is. No one is accusing Palmer of being tardy. But he is very clearly waiting out impatient players to get them to pay for his dumb game.
