Last Sunday (16.03.) Daval said that new SN pages would be in monday. Today is wednesday and now he says that tomorrow he will post new ID pages. No mentions of SN at all.Not even he knows when he will post what.
Daval may have come to the conclusion that these extended delays may have been unnerving some of his subscribers, so he placates them with his most popular content. That is, he can never go wrong with an Immoral Desires release, right? But it is curious that Satisfying Needs hasn't received an update in three weeks. Curious indeed...

Of Daval3D's three main comics, the most popular has undoubtedly been Immoral Desires. So it's easier to apologize over a plate of someone's favorite food. Than with any other. It's not for nothing that most ID publications usually receive more support than the others.

And that makes it all the more interesting when we here on this forum have exchanges over which comic is more popular when, at least in my estimation and I assume in the estimation of most, Immoral Desires is undoubtedly the most popular. And what's even more interesting is the complaints by few that either Immoral Desires is getting "boring" or that his other works, namely V.I.P. Madness: Together, is somehow more interesting or more popular, just aren't supported by the numbers either here on this forum or Daval's subscribestar (though to be fair, the novelty of Aaron and Sarah's sexual engagement has provided a much needed boost in MT's popularity.) And I think this has been the typical response of those whom I've mentioned because they're, unsuccessfully, trying to validate their criticisms. In reality, they're either vexed or upset that their preferences, i.e. meaningless, casual, polyamorous sex, isn't as popular as they may have thought. I mean Immoral Desires, which features a virtually monoamorous relationship (Lana's sex with her husband being the exception) has been going on for 11 chapters and it's Daval MOST POPULAR comic. And I would presume that these gripers, complainants if you will, fear the prospects of their preferences being played out because they know that Daval will cater to the most popular trend.

And last, if I can just mention, Immoral Desires is Daval's most popular comic, not only because Lana is his most attractive character, but also there are some real life dynamics going on. I won't mention much about the Oedipus Complex because it's present in most of his comics. Anyone who has dated, or messed around, has probably experienced the phenomenon of categorizing sexual prospects: (1) there are women with whom you just have "fun," i.e. keep it casual, and (2) there are women whom you "lock down," i.e. wine, dine, and romance. Daniel's sexual prospects with Lana would reflect the latter. Lana's appearance doesn't indicate "slutty." If anything it indicates an insanely attractive modest beauty, whose sexual interactions should reflect her design and personality. And I think that's the reason we've seen push back on the idea of not only Lana having more partners, but also Daniel. In other words, I think most of the fans want to see Lana and Daniel "lock each other down." And thus, the reason the jealous angles work so well, whether it's Lana making Daniel jealous with her husband, or Daniel making Lana jealous with her friends. (I also think that the lack of an incestuous angle as it concerns Daniel and Lana's friends may also be coming into play.) Even Daniel's cousin, Sharon, who's been present as a "younger Lana" may get push back, because at the end of the day, none of these female characters can compete with Lana. And with a character whose design is as attractive as Lana's, casual meaningless sex just isn't up to snuff. And giving Daniel more women with whom to have sex, just cheapens the sex he's already having with Lana, and the character built throughout all these chapters. And I think that's what has Daval in a bit of a rut because he probably always intended to expand Daniel's sexual opportunities, but because of the popularity of Daniel and Lana's monogamy, he's been relying on gimmicks to "keep it going," i.e. sex at the supermarket, sex at Martha's house (which should've ended a chapter ago,) sex at the mall, sex in front of a drunk Sofia, sex in the pool, and now sex in the bushes. And when Daval runs out of gimmicks, that's when the clock starts. Will he be faithful to the narrative he's cultivated, or will he betray it for a seemingly new gimmick and audience?

These are opinions, and that's all they get. It doesn't matter if I like it more, or you, or any other F95 member. You just have to look at the numbers, and from there you can make a popularity graph. In this case, it's the main Daval3D networks, which are Twitter (X) and Star Subscribers. And all that remains is to see which one receives the most support, which in this case is ID.

I've been familiar with Daval3D's art for two years, and I really liked it, so I subscribed. Until I saw all the delays he was having and decided to look for his content elsewhere. But one constant has always been the popularity of Immoral Desires. In fact, if I recall correctly, a few months ago, user Skiltllet also commented on how popular Immoral Desires was compared to the other stories, and you can see that ID's popularity has been a constant, not a coincidence. That undermines the criticism that ID is only popular when not many users actually like it.

If the comic were as bad and boring as some say, it wouldn't have 11 parts. Daval3D would simply cancel it and that's it. But if it excites people who like it, it's because there's definitely something there. Maybe it's not for me or for you, but that doesn't take away from what it has. It's very likely that Daval3D finished the comic when he ran out of tricks, as he wants to do with Needs Satisfaction, which Daval3D himself said was already in its final chapters. He finishes many works and starts new ones. I apologize if I can't provide anything of value to the above points; I'm not very good at that. But I've seen you have some good conversations with another user; perhaps you can discuss those points with them. I'm just offering a grain of salt from my knowledge on the subject.

Not at all. You've stated something that I think was more than just a grain of salt. I think we tend to forget that at the end of the day, we're discussing our opinions. And I've been guilty of this too. I've complained about the dialogue a lot in the past (and to my credit, I think I've done a decent job muzzling my complaints as of late) not because I think there's something inherently wrong with the verbal exchanges between characters, but that it underserves the "illusion" of the character's dynamic. That is, when reading this content, I'd like the mothers, aunts, uncles, and parents to speak like they're mothers, aunts, uncles, and parents. But I realize this is just I, projecting my own experience because my parents, aunts, uncles, parents of friends, don't curse regularly. Even in my advanced age, I don't curse habitually, and definitely no where near as much as Daval's characters. It's one thing when the young male characters do it (e.g. Daniel, Liam, David, and Aaron, etc.) but when the adult characters who are around my age do it, e.g. Lana, Sarah, Amanda, Alex, etc., I can't help incorporate my own experience and think, "no one my age talks this way," and therefore brings a dose of reality that someone younger than I is most likely writing this dialogue and probably doesn't have the same experiences I do with "adult" speech. Maybe that in itself is just projection, and Daval likes to write this way. I've come to terms with it especially since it's not going to affect whether I continue reading this content. And I say this to highlight those who complain, and still read the content, or post in areas in forums which was allotted specifically for that content only to voice your complaints.

As far as how this comic ends, I mention that only because his other comics have a thematic consistency. But again, maybe I'm just projecting. Daval has kept Immoral Desires virtually between Lana and Daniel, and to Daval's credit, he hasn't really given a reason in both the dialog or the visuals to believe it would end otherwise.

I truly believe that what you bring to F95 is invaluable. And after all, some of the things you've written have become reality. I really like seeing the threads you make about where the story might go. But one thing is definitely true: many users can't even argue because they believe what they believe. In the end, everything is subjective. But it varies from thing to thing. It's easy for me to quantify the numbers because of my work as an accountant, but everyone has a different opinion. And you can't change other people's opinions. But you always have to stay calm and not get carried away.
